Courtesy of the Daily Mail, a concept bra which only unlatches when the woman feels “true love”.
If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of players around the world rejoicing. Meanwhile rationalization hamsters don’t know whether they should welcome an opportunity to take a much needed rest, or fear being replaced entirely by smartphone apps and tingle detecting underwear.
We need the tingle underwear now.
Call me crazy, but I suspect many of us can get where we want to go without a bra coming into the picture at all.
I give it about a week until some hacker learns how to pop them open from his smart phone.
Besides that, Game is all about causing a woman to feel like that. LOL. It’ll pop open for those “3 guys” much quicker than it would any regular guy.
The bra has an app associated with it on a cell phone.
Which is another thing the NSA will spy on.
So… does this come with a matching chastity belt-panty, or is it just the bra?
Proper accessorization demands a matching set, you know.
CURSES! Foiled Again!
It’s only a matter of time before we hear about the microchip that overheats (or shortcircuits after becoming corroded by perspiration), resulting in fire, breasts with third degree burns, and a mulitmillion-dollar lawsuit.
Japan’s got the lowest birthrate in the world. They don’t need any more technology to get in the way of their babymaking activities.
How does the tingle detector mechanism of the bra actually work? Are false positives and false negatives a possibility; and if so, what repercussions could arise resulting from a false reading? Does the tingle detector inform the lady wearing the bra of a tingle response? Or does the bra inform the object of the tingle, (hopefully a man), of the tingle response he generated in her? Is there an off switch so when the lady is at the movie theater she can turn it off as we are required to turn off our cell phones? Will this product be subject to FDA approval? Will pajama boy wear one?
There is a market need for biometric chastity belts, I’m tellin ya.
If I understand the article, the primary sensors detect heart rate. So…a scary movie might work just as well as Twu Wuv at popping this top.
Ditto running to catch the train / bus / subway…
[D: At one min in they show a chart claiming that “true love” has a recognizable signature distinct from other causes of elevated heart rates.]
One time when my son was fighting, a neighbor kid started crying and running for his mom, who examined him for visible injuries. “I can’t tell if I’m bleeding or not!” he wailed. Since then, I get off on the “I can’t tell if I’m ___ or not!” meme occasionally.
“I can’t tell if I’m tingling or not!”
“I can’t tell if we’re having fun yet, or not!”
So…. how does she take the thing off herself when she gets home after not meeting her rockbanddrummerguy?
@sigmatika
It sure doesn’t, but the faster Japan collapses under the natality problem, the sooner the rest of the world wakes up.

[D: At one min in they show a chart claiming that “true love” has a recognizable signature distinct from other causes of elevated heart rates.]
Ah. I did not view the presentation, I merely read the article. Assuming the premise on heart rate as stated to be true, it would not be technically difficult to train one of the known AI algorithms to recognize that particular signature / pattern. However, there remains the issue of false positives and false negatives in such pattern recognition software…

So…. how does she take the thing off herself when she gets home after not meeting her rockbanddrummerguy?
“There’s an app for that”…I’m sure that there is a private bypass available to the wearer.
ADDENDUM: Assuming the hardware / software operate as advertised, it could be potentially embarrassing for a woman wearing such a device to go riding rollercoasters with her Twu Wuv…
LOL
It’s crazy how much “feelings” or “eros” is equated with love.
I wonder if altering the software on the phone to cause it respond differently for me would work? Maybe wear an RFID tag that triggers the response?
@Anon Reader
I imagine the wearer can set the proper mode (perhaps with multiple settings, not unlike Defcon?). So she might ordinarily be on lockdown, but when appropriate select

I read this on Drudgereport, and this was my first question (before I saw that this computerized brassiere goes by heart beat patterns):
Does it detect for (and open for) a male prospective partner having one or more of tattoos, needletracks, violent criminal convictions, long hair (preferably unclean), STDs, abandoned bastard progeny, motorcycle ownership, constant use of profanity, and lacks of STEM degrees or current fulltime employment? If so, that’s an apt way to have it “detect” the bad boys the sluts (latter comprising the bulk of marriage-age women today, sadly) clearly prefer.
Last mate update. The initial attempt by Tennille’s handlers, to float the idea that the breakup was strictly for the purpose of insurance fraud, has failed. Tennille has been doing her own thing for many years, apparently.
http://tonitennille.net/index.shtml
They may or may not physically share a house, but may not have shared anything else in quite some time. In fact, the official official authentic C&T site
http://www.captainandtennille.net/index.shtml
unambiguously (to me) says their marriage has been on the rocks for a while, e.g. “everything relating to THE CAPTAIN & TENNILLE appeared to the public as them being the ideal model for a “rock-solid’ married pair. But almost all people naturally evolve over time”
The interesting aspect of this way-past-gray divorce is the aspect that Tennille is evidently at least somewhat ashamed for filing divorce, inventing excuses etc.
MarcusD,
You are a wealth of knowledge! I’ve added a link to the blogroll.
How long do you think it’ll take before this bra gets linked to the Lulu app? https://onlulu.com/auth/intro/1/
“Ohh, too many downvotes on Lulu. Tough luck Brad, access denied.”
At least they’re finally being honest now:
http://www.infowars.com/feminist-blogger-i-look-down-on-young-women-with-husbands-and-kids/
Some choice quotes from the article:
“Every time I hear someone say that feminism is about validating every choice a woman makes I have to fight back vomit.”
“It’s because women secretly like to talk about how hard managing a household is so they don’t have to explain their lack of real accomplishments. Men don’t care to ‘manage a household.’ They aren’t conditioned to think stupid things like that are ‘important.’”
“If women can do anything, why are we still content with applauding them for doing nothing* ?”
* by “nothing”, she is referring to motherhood.
Fitting feminism into motherhood is like putting a baphomet statue into a nativity scene.
Nothing that can’t be fixed with a sharp knife or a pair of scissors!
Just give her a couple quick electro shocks and that puppy will open like a new present for daddy!
Femhater, you can’t pick the lock to a woman’s heart.
Dalrock says:
“Femhater, you can’t pick the lock to a woman’s heart.”
Yes you can. Game is the lock pick.
The Japanese digitized the bra version. Mel Brooks had the analog version for the panties 21 years ago…
Who needs to pick? It’s based on her heart rate. A quick shock could simulate the correct response resulting in the bra ‘opening’ up..
I eagerly await the first lawsuit from a woman, led to believe she found true love, only to learn she has been ravaged by an ordinary man. The company will have deeper pockets.
Outsourcing the decision making.
Amazing.
it appears, Mel Brooks also digitzed it… the robot that can stop disrobing post-tingle!
@Anchorman
More like outsourcing the rationalization. Even if Femhater manages to hack the device he still isn’t fooling the woman. The activation of the bra only gives her a pre packaged rationalization that this time she’s doing it for true love, hence the rejoicing PUAs and threatened hamsters.
“I can’t tell if my heart’s beating, or not!”
That’s a very interesting observation. It’s like a turn up the spiral, to an even higher degree of reification. Technology-empowered hamsters spin the wheel twice as fast! Where are Heidegger and Walter Benjamin when we need them?
My latest distracting comment: Jenny Erikson boasts on The Stir about kissing multiple men. Hope she enjoys her sore throats. lol
http://thestir.cafemom.com/love_sex/167359/7_types_of_bad_kissers
The video is so corny, I thought it was a joke until I read the article.
How would they go about calibrating “Twu Wuv” heart beats? Presumably, a selection of women would have to have said, “This is when it should open.” Any bets on the accuracy of that survey?
“Um… It’s not you. The calibration must be off.”
All of you and I mean ALL OF YOU just missed why the bra won’t change anything at all.
How does the woman herself take off her bra? She surely doesn’t have to make herself fall in love with herself right?
When she gets the tingles at the bar, whether her bra is unlocked from this magical heart rate or not, SHE CAN SIMPLY TAKE IT OFF HERSELF. As if girls don’t already do this to guys that make them horny/tingle. This bra will only serve to do what ALL sh!t tests have done: weed out beta males!
The inventors of this bra, saw what women’s sh!t tests were and managed to mass produce/commercialize it. They are literal geniuses.
Dalrock,
In pure feministic thinking, this makes perfect sense. The tingle bra protects her from making bad decisions (like taking off her clothes when she isn’t really feeling it) while at the same time, gives her something to blame other than herself if she found herself naked, having already submitted to a man, and later regretting it. Now she isn’t responsible for anything. The device said it was okay and she was just submitting to technology.
Re: if she really just wanted someone else to blame other than herself, she could always just have submitted to her husband. I think it’s never the case that women look for excuses for what they think they ought to be doing. I think they only want plausible deniability when they know it’s something they shouldn’t be doing. For example, they never go “Well, he just asked me and I said yes” when they explain how they had an affair; it’s always “Well, he made me feel like I had to say yes.”
jf12,
Stop thinking like a man! You need to think like a woman. This is marketted for women.
“I can’t tell if my bra is unlatching, or not!”
Re: calibrating. It will never help unwanted men score even if it unlatches and the unwanted men helpfully point that out, because her hypergamy, manifested as confirmation bias, will assure her it malfunctioned or “they did something to it.”
“I can’t tell if you did something to it, or not!”
@Boxer Re: Jenny’s advice “There’s a time and place for tongue action, guys, and it isn’t on her face.” Where is the place that Jenny prefers tongue? Where, oh where, could it be?
what happens if a man wears the bra??? true love happens for me many times throughout the day, especially when if i step foot on a college campus.
I hope she’s not getting paid by the word. I’ve seen more sentences (and more complicated ones) in a Dr. Seuss book with a big cat on the front.
re: tingles many times throughout the day. When I was actually in love, which has happened some half-dozen times in my life, as I’ll recount sometime, it was almost strictly latched onto one at a time, and almost strictly caused by a heady potpourri of extended intervals of physical proximity, definite connections, and apparent willingness on her part to please me. When in love, I felt that other women were repulsed by me, which would have put a crimp in my game if I had had any.
I do believe I’m probably a little more oxytocin-sensitive than most men, but I do observe the same latching behavior aka oneitis in most men. In contrast, women WISH they felt oneitis but obviously most cannot. Limerence aka true love is vestigial in women.
“I can’t tell if this mic is on, or not.”
So, a woman has the reputation of talking about her feelings in order to gin up some feelings, while a man has the reputation of not talking about his feelings in order to spare the woman. And then they both walk into a bar, and …
Skipping to the punchline, wouldn’t it be so much more convenient for a man just to have a remote control for a woman? Wouldn’t they both be happier? Will women actually agree to take monogamy drugs when they are made available?

That being said, if you can afford a thermographic camera ($1200USD+), you can actually see who is sexually aroused (the genital area will be warmer [greater blood flow], according to the researchers at McMaster). For both men and women this is true, but, for women, is sometimes at odds with subjective arousal (i.e. “sexual concordance”).
Re: detecting. It’s actually been over thirty years ago, verified in multiple experiments in multiple locations, that it is straightforward to detect when women are objectively genitally aroused, as measured in every way imaginable: clitoral engorgment, vaginal lubrication, greater pelvic blood flow, genital nerve stimulation, release of chemicals on the cellular level. It’s ALL been measured, although not necessarily all at the same time. But EVERY time, when objectively aroused, the women subjectively self-report mental sexual arousal that is basically uncorrelated with physical sexual arousal. So, anyway, it’s been well known for over a generation that either women really are that out of touch with their own bodies, or women really are that whacked in the head to expect us to believe their self-report lies.
Undoubtedly the single greatest discovery of the past couple of years was this one: when women’s sexual arousal centers in the brain were imaged, and brain arousal objectively detected, there was the exact same lack of correlation with self-reported mental sexual arousal! Unfortunately there is no “lying center”, but to the extent that there are imageable brain patterns of lying, the women were not lying. Hence, women’s being out of touch with their own bodies extends to their brains: their brains self-report the brain’s sexual arousal state *involuntarily* incorrectly.
Personally, I think this is an adjunct to the hidden ovulation pattern of behaviors. But men should keep in mind that women do not necessarily know anything at all about their own personal state of arousal.
“Sexual concordance” is the term.
Would that be similar to the observable phenomena in men, whereby they tend to end up with the same physical “type” which is often at odds with the “type” they claim to want?
I can say I like redheads best, and intellectually I do, but I tend to end up with leggy dark women, which is not at all the same thing. I see this in many of my friends. We think we like one specific type but we vote with our feet in another direction. psycho-intellectual arousal != physical arousal
Especially given the previous few comments, that’s a really interesting question.
@Boxer. I’m not sure I have a “type”, although something of a leg man myself. My personal set of two are wildly different, aside from being 5’4″ and having the two sweetest contralto voices (at times). There are women to whom I’m so visually attracted I cannot even bear to see images, but they don’t have much in common.
Dear JF:
It’s really a shame that we don’t have any actual, politically neutral *gender studies* programs, through which to research these questions about biological attraction, mating and relationships. In a healthier world, I could see reams of research possible on these topics.

Pingback: Tingle detecting bra. | Truth and contradiction...
The first woman I slept with did not want me to remove her Bra – so I didn’t bother. LOL
The Feminist Hater is on to something. I can’t see this becoming a hit product. What do women gain from detecting their own tingles? I’d think they just have things to lose from it. Wearing one (assuming for the sake of argument that it works reliably as advertised) only takes away her option to fake it for the sake of keeping Mr Beta Bucks happy, and risks embarrassing her if she chooses not to act on the tingle.
It’s all a trick. It’s programmed to never open. That way, he just has to work harder to please her, but he never quite gets there.
@Boxer Re: binders full of women’s studies. If I had a magazine under my mattress about women I cannot even think about looking at without committing sin, the cover photo would be of Martina McBride. She has the dubious distinction of currently pegging my tingle meter, and has been doing so for more than a decade. Earlier there was Morgan Fairchild who would be the centerfold, although still photos of her come-hither looks hardly convey the extent that her fluid sensuality in motion compelled going yonder.
My mistake. It’s been a whole decade, not just a couple of years.
http://homepage.psy.utexas.edu/HomePage/Group/MestonLAB/Publications/brain.pdf
However, I think it’s only been a couple of years that women’s brainz’ sexual discordance under more general arousals (not just visual) were published by several teams.
“Is it wrong that I only date virgins?”
Being a virgin living in the culture of a sewer is like being a leper.
I also had no idea that true love was only tingles.
I guess all that stuff Paul said in the Bible was just pointless noise.
@earl
One of the pointier points I’ve had to ingest since reading around the manosphere is that for women, being in love DOES mean tingles. Since men tend walk around tingling all the time, this makes no sense to men, for whom being in love presents itself as an overwhelming desire to protect and provide.
@jf12
Lack of what’s being called “sexual concordance” was notes in print >30 yrs ago, in a story involving a gynecologist: Seems a whole series of women were showing up for routine exams there with, shall we say?, inordinate amounts of mucus. The doctor couldn’t figure out how an infection could have spread through a disparate population. The cause was eventually traced to a rape romance in the waiting room.
If they were running xxx-rated movies on the teevee in the waiting room, what man wouldn’t say something about it sooner rather than later? But the women are oblivious.
“I can’t tell if I’m tingling or not” said no man.
We, as a society, as a species, have not yet honestly faced up to women’s extremely marked preference for and rewarding of brutality in men. We all know that very few men have raping fantasies and very few women do not have being-raped fantasies, but we have to give disclaimers and are not permitted to draw even the most obvious conclusions. It could be that one part of feminism’s long-term goals of female sexual empowerment was to make women sexually stronger so that they would not want to be taken as much or as roughly by brutal men. But in reality that empowerment merely enabled and enhanced the preference, i.e. the freer and looser the woman the MORE she exclusively seeks out bad men to treat her badly. But that’s another topic for another day.
Do you have the source for that? Thanks.
Oh, and this is worth posting, too:
An abundance of research demonstrates a robust association between father absence—or low-quality paternal involvement—and daughters’ accelerated sexual development, promiscuity, and sexual risk taking. Although recent natural experiments provide support for fathers playing a causal role in these outcomes, these effects have not been examined using a randomized experimental design to eliminate genetic and environmental confounds inherent in previous studies. We redressed this empirical gap by experimentally testing the effects of primed paternal disengagement cues on women’s sexual decision making. Across 5 experiments, reminders of paternal disengagement increased women’s activation of sexual thoughts (Experiment 1), sexual permissiveness (Experiments 2-4), and negativity toward condom use (Experiment 5). Moreover, these effects were specific to women’s sexual decision making, as paternal disengagement cues failed to influence women’s willingness to take nonsexual risks (Experiment 4) or men’s risky sexual attitudes (Experiment 5). These results provide the first true experimental evidence supporting a causal relationship between paternal disengagement and changes in women’s psychology that promote risky sexual behavior.
DelPriore, Danielle J., and Sarah E. Hill. “The Effects of Paternal Disengagement on Women’s Sexual Decision Making: An Experimental Approach.” (2013).
@Marcus, that’s a choice nugget from your goldmine. “Hey girl, tell me about a time when your father was cold and distant, or absent.” may be the single best pickup line evah.
New keyword/phrase for me “preparation hypothesis.” Verrry interrresting.
Anyway the single greatest defeat of the idea that women’s sexual concordance may be higher when reading erotica than viewing pr0n is in this comprehensive review:
“There was no evidence that subjective-genital agreement was higher for women when they were exposed to non-visual stimuli; in fact, subjective-genital agreement was nonsignificantly lower in these conditions.”

Marcus,
I had to update my own blog because of that linkie.
@IBB
It’s quite the frustrating article (in concept). Feminists talk about double standards that don’t actually exist (that is, meta-analyses show they are delusional), and they ignore ones that are plainly visible.
it sure is frustrating. the women make the laws because they are now the judges. logic does not apply to a judge guided first and foremost by the feminist imperative.
Zippy had linked to this explanation of “the infamous shit test” as an example of non-Game ways to generate the same tingles as Game.
http://traditionalchristianity.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/examples-and-enthymemes/
“An insistence upon logic is the basis of the AFC, which is why dumber men tend to be more naturally dominant than clever ones. The less clearly and logically you can think, the more likely you are to greet an incoherent feminine tirade with an order to Shut up! — which is actually the correct answer to her true argument!”
More generally the correct answer to men’s question of “What does she mean by “Just Get It”?” is, without pulling any punches or equivocating in any way, “Just be more brutal towards her.” That’s it, in totality.
Dear Social Critics:
It’s true that people in a decadent, oversexed society will sublimate their own feelings of inadequacy by shunning and shaming those who display self-discipline and self-respect.
Taking a cue from Augustine, that old philosopher, I’d encourage you guys to adopt a piece of philosophy originating with Ayn Rand and Anton LaVey. Namely: you should cultivate your own mini-society, with its own mores and social norms, in defiance of the wider society which promotes the lowest common denominator.
I’m not a virgin (pretty far on the other side of the bell curve, actually) but I don’t see anything inherently wrong with controlling oneself in his dealings with the opposite sex. I look back and realize, if I’m honest with myself, that doing so would have saved me years of needless drama and nonsense.
You guys are actually doing the smart thing, so don’t worry too much about society’s leper label. Make the colony a thing to be proud of, and give the finger to the people who look down on you. They’re just jealous, anyway.
Regards, Boxer
No, no, no, Boxer. Had you resisted their charms you would have had the same dramas anyway – but without the sex.
Boxer,
That is what a Christian church was supposed to do. Now, too many of them are infected with churchianity (which is just feminism infecting Christianity) so the society we should be cultivating, isn’t being cultivated.
So MGTOW pretty much have to boycott any and all villages. There is no society that is safe (outside ours here at Dalrocks.) This is the society we have cultivated.
Shorter Boxer: Hey Christians, do this thing libertine atheists and Satanists do.
You are right about forming communities, but it still made me chuckle.
You just have to be choosy regarding those you allow into your home and life. Stop watching tee-vee (most of it is annoying, tedious crap anyway) and surround yourself with people who won’t bring you down, and shame you for wanting to better yourselves.
Actually, that was Augustine, not me. I just paraphrased his admonition to Christians, to adopt things which are objectively useful regardless of the source (which back then meant adopting Hellenistic philosophy, in part, despite the fact that it came from a polytheistic society).
Boxer,
Just busting your balls here but that is what a Patriarical marriage was supposed to be.
@jf12
It’s been demonstrated before that higher IQ men (120+) have far fewer sexual partners (usually 0) than men of average IQ (~100).
@MarcusD
Well, I’d surely bet median lifetime N for high IQ men is closer to 1 rather 0 because of eventual marriage, and probably N is greater than 1 although possibly less than 2 i.e. 1 point something. In a plot of all N vs IQ, I don’t believe my N=2 is wrecking any curves as an outlier (my x position ought to be at least as believable as my y position).
But maybe probably N~0 for casual sex for high IQ men. It sure is for me.
jf12 quotes Zippy Catholic

This can be tested, by examining divorce statistics. If the above is accurate, then the overthinking men of the UMC should be falling into the divorce machine right and left, while the ordinary working man who doesn’t overthing thinks should have a secure marriage. Yet the inverse is true. Zippy appears to be ignoring the larger picture, specifically including what women hear from the herd, which can be supportive or can be
https://dalrock.wordpress.com/2010/11/02/the-whispers/
Earlier this month a man I’ve known for a long time dropped by, and told me his wife had blown up their 15+ year long marriage (with children). Since then I’ve learned that in the last couple of years she was associating herself with some “women’s shelter” or other, and that the false accusations against him of cruelty, of being a potential abuser, of “gaslighting” her, etc. just happened to have started and gained momentum during that time.
Women are surrounded all too often by other women who are always ready to tell them just how put upon they are. How “abusive” their husbands are. How happy they will be after divorce. “Shut up” may work, or may blow up very badly, depending on the overall context – a context that includes all of her friends, her acquaintances, her co-workers (if any) right down to her BFF Oprah.
If I have time in the next few weeks, I’ll plot out the relevant GSS variables and see what happens.
of “gaslighting” her
Which is a dead-end. Basically, how do you tell someone you aren’t gaslighting them? Affirmation and denial both reinforce their conclusion.
A lot of dalrock readers will likely disagree with this, but I think the old school Marriage 1.0 was a very small part of the composite which made up a healthy life. Not that it wasn’t important, but it was not sufficient in itself.
Men need to interface, compete with, and mutually support other men. In the old days, this was the Free Masons, Kiwanis, men’s group at church, and co-workers at the factory. In those old days, many of those men would have been family men or very discrete playas who respected other men for who they were, regardless of whether women liked them.
Bottom line for the chaste brothers: Part of “going one’s own way” is the realization that one’s own way is not his brother’s way, and the subsequent respect for “alternate lifestyles” and etc. Cultivate a supportive inner circle and socialize with people who are down with it. Make your home or apartment your sanctuary, and only let the deserving enter.

Yes. It’s like the old coin tossing game, “heads I win, tails you lose”.
Note how often the term is used by certain subsets of women both online and offline, and the nature of those subsets (it is often associated with overuse of the word “trigger” in my limited reading).
The larger point stands: men in LTR’s / marriages need to pay attention to exactly with whom their women are associating. Some workplaces can be utterly toxic in this regard.

Ding and double ding. Before my ex decided to blow things up she started hanging out with a woman who “helped” her “discover” that I’d been emotionally abusing her. Naturally I was oblivious to this until I got the “I love you but I’m not in love with you…” talk; I’d been thrilled that she had a friend since she’d bitched for years that she didn’t have any friends to spend time with (which of course was my fault).
I had several friends who opined that if anybody in the relationship was being emotionally abusive and gaslighting, it was her. When I reported that to her, her response was along the lines of “That’s exactly what [woman I’ve been hanging out with] told me that abusers try to do … make the victim out to be the problem.” This despite the fact that *even her mother* recognized how completely bitchy she’d been (her mom said to me, a few months after she left “It must be a real relief not to come home to her any more.”).
Dalrock,
This is a re-post courtesy of Alpha is Assumed, but it is a beauty:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1021293/How-mothers-fanatical-feminist-views-tore-apart-daughter-The-Color-Purple-author.html
Basically, Alice Walker, author of “The Colour Purple” had a daughter who considers her mother solipsistic to the point of selfish cruelty.
We can add this to the list of feminist fantasies of the “EPL” and “How Stella..” variety.
The early Christians did that “your own mini-society” thing. Eventually they overtook the brutal, licentious pagan mainstream society, establishing themselves and their “mores and social norms” as the new mainstream.
I dunno ’bout Anton LaVey but Ayn Rand (in my opinion) runs parallel to Christian moral thinking rather often. She championed morality rooted in natural law; her deep blunder was denying the existence of Nature’s Lawgiver. Also, she carried a lot of guilt for her abortion as a young woman. As a consequence she gave in to temptation to rationalize away the evil of abortion–she blanked out (to use her own phrase) from her mind what abortion is in order to evade reality (to use another of her phrases).
So, I was reading http://pjmedia.com/drhelen/2014/01/28/men-on-strike-interview-at-forbes-part-ii/

My wager is this: once enough women are in significant enough debt from education, feminists will point to women prostituting as a reason to forgive all student loan debt, but with the knowledge that most people with student loan debt are women.

@MarcusD:
Making student loan debt bankruptable would significantly improve a lot of colleges, as it would be tied to some % of clawback on the part of the schools.
I have never understood how Chistianism took over the Roman Empire. There weren’t that many of them; no one liked them; there were plenty of competing cults (e.g. Mithraism); the Romans saw it as merely a species of Judaism, but apparently some top Roman women became followers and so…
We continue to live in the ruins of that Empire with Secularism still abiding by Christian ideas (equality, fraternity) but with a more immediate Telos.
@Looking Glass says: “Making student loan debt bankruptable would significantly improve a lot of colleges, as it would be tied to some % of clawback on the part of the schools.”
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.
The current system puts 100% of the risk on the borrower (the student), and 0% of the risk on the lender (the school).
With no risk, there is no incentive on the school’s part to ensure the student can complete the course of study, and that the student’s major will produce a marketable skill in the real world.
When everyone involved in a transaction is taking some risk, then everyone is motivated to make sure the transaction works.

Boo hoo. 9 out of 10 guys whose She is Consciously Aware of are alphas . Boo hoo.
Ding, ding, ding, we have a LOSER!!!!!
Make student loan debt bankruptable and that trillion dollars that has already been borrowed, all of if would be welched on instantly, throwing us into a Great Depression worse than any of us would ever know.
And if you say “…okay, going forward, future student loans ONLY are bankruptable…” that is a loser as it would do two things that are DEALBREAKERS for liberal politicians (ie: the people who control the courts, the congress, and the White House)
* It would tie those loans to your credit rating and at age 18, you don’t have one so only the most financially fit students could get a loan as only students who get parents to co-sign would ever qualify (in otherwords, poor need not apply to college, you are done)
* lenders would only give loans for STEM degrees (and they would then have the power to CALL YOUR LOAN if you switch majors)
* Interest rates would go from 1% to about 10% where they are on personal loans, because that is all this is, a personal loan (not a student loan) since you can bankrupt yourself out of it
Students who actually mean to play their loans back would hate it because the interest rate is much too high. Colleges and universities would hate it as their arts and culture programs would dwindle only to the students paying full freight with no loans. The poor would hate it because they could never qualify for a loan since their parents (do they have parents? are they married?) aren’t credit worthy.
@IBB:
* It would tie those loans to your credit rating and at age 18, you don’t have one so only the most financially fit students could get a loan as only students who get parents to co-sign would ever qualify (in otherwords, poor need not apply to college, you are done)
>>Correct. Be absolutely sure you know why you are going to college before you go. Work for several years and build both an experience and cash reserve to help you complete your degree.
* lenders would only give loans for STEM degrees (and they would then have the power to CALL YOUR LOAN if you switch majors)
>>Agreed. Only extend risk for a high probability of reward. Once in debt, the bank OWNS you. If you default on the agreement of getting a loan for a STEM degree by changing majors, they will want their money back. People don’t buy houses with car loans, do they?
* Interest rates would go from 1% to about 10% where they are on personal loans, because that is all this is, a personal loan (not a student loan) since you can bankrupt yourself out of it
>>Agreed. The cost would go up to match the risk.
Students who actually mean to play their loans back would hate it because the interest rate is much too high.
>Students don’t already hate interest rates or think them too high?
Colleges and universities would hate it as their arts and culture programs would dwindle only to the students paying full freight with no loans.
>That’s the way it used to be – art and philosophy and music were for the upper classes or children of merchants, not working classes.
The poor would hate it because they could never qualify for a loan since their parents (do they have parents? are they married?) aren’t credit worthy.
> And what have we gained by flooding the universities with students unable or unwilling to bring the necessary self-discipline or ability to learn and successfully complete a degree? There will still be endowments and foundations and so forth to grant merit or hardship scholarships to students serious about getting an education, regardless of their family’s means.
I say this as someone that started working in a factory at age 16, and worked their way through school without benefit of student loans until my last semester. It took seven years to get a four-year degree, because I had to take time off to work and save money to afford another semester. I took as many transferable credits at the community college as I could, and found a school willing to work with me when I transferred to finish my degree.
This would dial things back to how they worked for centuries prior to the G. I. Bill. I agree that was not most people’s ideal system. I do believe it worked better than the system we currently have in place.
@innocentbystanderboston says: Make student loan debt bankruptable and that trillion dollars that has already been borrowed, all of if would be welched on instantly, throwing us into a Great Depression worse than any of us would ever know.
Already going to happen. We’re either going to bail out the students under the current system, or bail out the schools on the current loans if we made the bankruptable. Either way the citizens of the USA are on the hook.
* It would tie those loans to your credit rating and at age 18, you don’t have one so only the most financially fit students could get a loan as only students who get parents to co-sign would ever qualify (in otherwords, poor need not apply to college, you are done)

Maybe so, but as long as only one party in the transaction (the student) is taking the risk, the system will be broken. The schools have no incentive NOT to give out a loan. I had saved for my daughter’s college, so we didn’t need a loan. Yet, the school pushed her to take out student loans (a high-pressure push). They tried to make the case to her that even though she had the money in the bank, she should still take out student loans. She has had to sign paperwork every year stating that she voluntarily turned down the student loans, and that she understood the NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES of turning down the loans.
The schools have nothing to lose and everything to gain when a student takes out a loan. An environment like that will always lead to problems, which is exactly what we have with student loans today–serious problems.
Bankruptcy isn’t a “walk away and keep everything” proposition. The student could lose every possession he had accumulated. The school’s risk could also be mitigated by allowing them to revoke the degree if the student declare’s bankruptcy (so the student would lose not only his physical possessions, but the degree itself in the bankruptcy).
Students who actually mean to play their loans back would hate it because the interest rate is much too high.
The current system has pushed college tuition rates through the roof. Changing it would force tuition rates down, which would more than offset any interest fees.
Colleges and universities would hate it as their arts and culture programs would dwindle only to the students paying full freight with no loans.
Colleges would have to cut back on their femmist studies and under water basket weaving departments. So?
The poor would hate it because they could never qualify for a loan since their parents (do they have parents? are they married?) aren’t credit worthy.
There have always been ways for the poor to get through college. As someone else mentioned above, I worked during the day and went to school at night. Scholarship programs have always existed. Think out of the box. Loading a poor person down with $100k in debt and a degree that will only let them get a job at Starbucks isn’t kind–it’s cruel.

I have never understood how Chistianism took over the Roman Empire.
A Roman general named Constantine was involved in a civil war in the 4th century. He enlisted Christians on his side, and after defeating his rival proclaimed a new order of religious tolerance in the empire. If I recall correctly, Gibbon in “Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” blamed the ultimate fall on the Christainization of the empire, however that seems far too facile. By the time of Constantine a whole lot of bad decisions had been made that were not readily reversible – such as taxes that were so onerous, entire families sold themselves into slavery in order to cancel an otherwise impossible debt.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_the_Great
@Anonymous Reader
That will be it as well as a merging of Xtian and Stoic ideals. Of course in the East the Empire went on until 1453 – so a rather protracted decline I’d say. One day I must read Augustine.
the Empire went on until 1453
Well, in my opinion, the Empire lives on in the Patriarchate of Constantinople (the last surviving Imperial post from the Roman Empire).

The big point I want you to believe I about to drive home is this: she can be prepared for just about anything, but not from just about anyone.
8-to-12,
How is it already going to happen?
The only way it happens is by government legislation allowing the borrowers to welch and if they do so, the lenders are not going to write off $1 trillion dollars. They don’t have $1 trillion dollars. We are right back to bailing out banks again with another TARP, but a lot bigger than the $125 billion we lent them last time until they could sell their real estate holdings that were in the MBSes….
…every MBS had assets, houses (upsdie down in 2008)…
…these kids have no assets. In their minds, they have nothing, they are part of the 99%. The assets (to back up their student loans) are their upside-down educations. A bank can’t foreclose on an upside-down education the way a lender can on a home mortgage if that mortgage is ties to a house (the asset.) How do you foreclose on knowledge? And when you get that knowledge asset, how do you seel it on the open market the way a bank sells a foreclosed property?
An unbankruptable student loan is a form of legal wage slavery against future earnings. The system is working as designed. Ultiumately, the kids are at fault. No bank forces you to borrow money. No school forces any student to attend it. The 17 or 18 year old made those choices. Just because you and I did it right (I worked my way through) doesn’t change the fact that these kids with their trillion in knowledge debt, are forgiven their irresponsibility.
I am a USA citizen. I am not on the hook for anyone’s student loans. I have none. The only loans I am on the hook for are the debt obligations that this government created for Social Security, Medicare, and the Federal Debt. That is already $20 trillion or more (or whatever it is) I don’t want another $1 trillion.
8-to-12,
Correct. They just raise the price because of the influx of cash from the free market.
Incorrect. The situation is already correcting itself without government intervension.
For-profit universities (that compete on price, like Devry, University of Phoenix, anything online) are cheaper than state and private (non-profit) universities. And you get valued Stem degrees. The last 3 developers I hired, all Devry grads. They got right to work and started making themselves (and my company) money.
When schools compete on price, the consumer (the student) wins. The smart consumer (the smart student) prices around for a valuable education that has an appropriate ROI. All of that information is readily available and (as a result) many universities are about to shut their doors. One need only look at what is happening to all-black colleges with their ever dwindling student body and enrollments to see where this leads us.
Colleges and universities used to go out of business.

Gonzo. Hell, Notre Dame would have been gonzo (no paying students) were it not for the Navy Department in 1942 outsourcing half of their bloated, WWII Naval Academy class to South Bend for their educations. That is the only reason why Notre Dame plays Navy every year in football, paying back the US government for sending them customers in WWII. What will happen (eventually) is the most expensive non-profit liberal arts colleges, will fail (and take their pensioned and tenured professors with them.) This is already starting to happen with ever dwindling student enrollments.
The system is working as designed. No changes needed. Eventually, all schools will have to compete on price or demand rent seeking legislation from government to end on-line universities and MOOCs.
I have never understood how Chistianism took over the Roman Empire.

Surprise, surprise, those ideas don’t work.

Well, in my opinion, the Empire lives on in the Patriarchate of Constantinople (the last surviving Imperial post from the Roman Empire).
Elucidate, please? That particular subdivision of the Eastern Orthodox exists solely at the sufferance of the Turkish government, under the provisions of the Koranic Dhimmi laws. Rome didn’t exist at the sufferance of anyone.
And it is a doomed outpost from what I can tell so long as the Turks refuse to re-open the Halki seminary on the Bosporus. But I only know a little about the issue, so I could be wrong on this point.
Well, an office established by Constantine still exists. It comes under the authority of the Turkish government, yes, but it is an institution created by, and maintained since, the Roman Empire. So, in my view, “the Roman Empire lives on.”
Rome didn’t exist at the sufferance of anyone.
True (well, it did pay off barbarian tribes), and I would take that point as the primary argument against my view.

IBB,
You nailed this one.
@MarcusD says: “Well, an office established by Constantine still exists. It comes under the authority of the Turkish government, yes, but it is an institution created by, and maintained since, the Roman Empire. So, in my view, “the Roman Empire lives on.”
Speaking of Bible prophecy (something I’m sure we all agree on 😉 )…
It’s interesting to note that the popular “prophecy experts,” when talking about a revived Roman empire, always talk about the western empire (and thus Europe) as if the western Roman empire was the only one that existed.
They seem ignorant of the fact that the eastern Roman empire not only existed, but existed (in various forms) for centuries after the western empire fell.

“Working in TV is notoriously difficult for women. There is a powerful old boys’ network, robust glass ceiling and the majority of bosses are misogynistic males.”
Is directly followed by:
“Gradually, what had started out as a daydream – wouldn’t it be great if there were no men where I worked? – turned into an exciting concept. I decided to create the first all-female production company where smart, intelligent, career-orientated women could work harmoniously, free from the bravado of the opposite sex.
In hindsight, I should have learned the lessons of my past – at my mixed secondary school I was bullied by a gang of nasty, name-calling girls, so I knew only too well how nasty groups of women could become.
And working in TV, I’d met lots of super-competitive ‘door-slammers’ who’d do anything to get to the top. But I told myself that, with the right women, work could be wonderful.”
Ya, that glass ceiling so terrible that it kept her from the “dream job” she held: “I was working as a TV executive producer making shows for top channels such as MTV, and based in Los Angeles.” And of course, it was due to misogyny by the men, couldn’t possibly be that men are already very aware about women and their “nightmare reality: constant bitchiness, surging hormones, unchecked emotion, attention-seeking and fashion rivalry so fierce it tore my staff apart.” That could have nothing to do with their attitude, because, patriarchy.
And of course the obvious conclusion “When I read the other day that Sienna Miller had said there was no such thing as ‘the Sisterhood’, I knew what she meant.” Yeah, because the sisterhood is by definition (including her own) women sticking together against men, so when women catfight when there are no men around, that means no sisterhood, like totally QED and stuff.
Dumber than a bag of hammers, successfully producing shows for MTV, sounds about right I guess.
Paul
Of course.
The obvious problem with this is when there are no men around, women (who are used to getting men to do things for them by way of threatpoint) don’t have anyone to order anymore. So when things break (when the business isn’t running properly), it was always the men who had to fix them. No men, no fixes as there are no threatpoints to wield. So what you have instead are a group of women yelling at each other like a bunch of harpies, each one used to being the boss over men, each one with the prime directive of avoiding all accountability to do anything. “The Sisterhood” turns into a blame storming session, nothing more.
Thank you galden.
Romanus Ejut Domus – as they scrawl on Walls round here – very old walls – and so they went, in 409 A.D. leaving my ancestors free to enjoy The Dark Ages and to look forward to The first Archbishop of Canterbury in 597 A.D. Of course the remains of their villas survive – the mozaic floors at any rate, and the coinage – and all educated people speak and write Latin. The roads they left, remain – as straight as an arrow – though resurfaced and that wall to keep the Scots out – in need of reinforcing I think – well done Hadrian. To their credit The Romans left Stonehenge untouched. The word Britain comes form Pretani (so Strabo tells us), meaning ‘tattooed one’ – so no change there then.

Way too off topic, but whatever lineage of highpriestliness the bishop of Rome ever pretended to claim, that claim came to an abrupt end when Innocent bowed the knee to Alaric and paid him tithes and let the churches be used for pagan rituals.

[very few women do not have being-raped fantasies,]
That’s completely false as stated. nearly all women have fantasies of being forced to have nasty, brutal sex *by men much hotter than they are*, and that is not considered rape by women.
There is a very big difference between men’s and women’s idea of rape; for men it is about being forced or not, for women it is about “consent”, which is a synonym of “chemistry” which means “tingle”. For women forced sex with a hot man is not rape, it is their number one fantasy indeed. Equally non-forced sex with a wimpy loser is felt as a humiliation and violation by most women, that is rape.
[goals of female sexual empowerment was to make women sexually stronger so that they would not want to be taken as much or as roughly by brutal men.]
That’s a crazy idea, and based again on the very different feeling of rape between men and women. Femisnim was all about minimizing rape in the way women feel it; it is sex with unattractive men, whether forced or not, that makes them feel violated and raped, because there is no “tingle”/”chemistry”/”consent”.
Pre-2nd-wave-feminism (that is, pre-pill) women to get someone to invest in her children had to marry someone (men work much harder and longer, and they don’t get pregnant), and most women had to marry a beta loser, and have sex with him, which most women felt as rape.
One of the two motivations for feminism was to ensure that all women were financially free to pursue and have brutal, forced sex with only the fit assholes they have “tingle”/”chemistry”/”consent” for.
The problem most women did not anticipate is that only a small percentage of men is attractive to women, so only a small percentage of women can get to marry an attractive man and get nasty, brutal sex from him; all the others can get the sex, but not the commitement. So the overall situation has gone from one where a few women could get hot sex and marriage from a hot man, and most women got marriage and feelings of rape from a wimp, to one where a few women can still get hot sex and marriage from a hot man, and most women can get pumped-and-dumped but at least get hot sex from a hot man who has married or will marry another woman.
«But in reality that empowerment merely enabled and enhanced the preference, i.e. the freer and looser the woman the MORE she exclusively seeks out bad men to treat her badly.»
But they don’t regard that as bad treatment; hot nasty forced sex by a hot man is their number one fantasy after all, and the reality of it for most women is overwhelmingly awesome. Just as it is utterly nauseating and degrading to them to receive any sexual attention from a soft wimpy loser, including non-forced sex with them.
Talk about feel-good idiocy…
How does the woman take the bra off herself, then, if it’s secure enough a man couldn’t take it off? Does she need to feel twu wove to change her clothing?
And unless there’s magic locking panties to go along…
True, archerwfisher. (Nice Beretta 92F/M9 and target there, too.)
That doesn’t detect “true love”, that detects euphoria, and arousal. I had already lost faith in women’s judgement, intelligence, and loyalty, before seeing this. But, this is insane. Just when I think my opinion of women, and society, couldn’t get any lower they find a way to make it worse. I feel really bad for those japanese men. (And, I bitch about american women.) There are way too many flaming hoops to jump through to get laid.
