The Globe and Mail has a feminist boiler plate article up implying that women over 65 are in the SMP power position: The new reality of dating over 65: Men want to live together; women don’t.
For more than a decade, D’Alfonso, a Montreal writer, has been dating a Toronto widow. The two see each other every couple of months. D’Alfonso wanted more: He proposed five times, only to be rebuffed with every try. The older woman refused to live with him, D’Alfonso said, because she wanted to travel and be free. “I have to ask, and I always ask, so what do you want from me?” he said.
The pair took a two-year hiatus, during which D’Alfonso tried dating other senior-age women only to find that they, too, were reluctant to share a home – this even as D’Alfonso said he cooks and keeps a tidy house.
“I really believe that women no longer need men, whatsoever,” D’Alfonso said. “I’m totally irrelevant.”
Subtly nested in this quote is evidence of the absurdity of the premise. While D’Alfonso is no doubt a great guy, he is quite obviously very low in the sexual marketplace (SMP); from the bit offered by the Globe and Mail, he clearly couldn’t generate a tingle with an electric chair. Yet in the over 65 SMP, multiple women have been interested in claiming him as their boyfriend, so long as they don’t have to actually be around him. These women aren’t rejecting him outright, they just want to avoid being around him (emphasis mine):
For more than a decade, D’Alfonso, a Montreal writer, has been dating a Toronto widow. The two see each other every couple of months.
Note that not only has she stayed with a man for ten years she only sees every couple of months, he broke it off with her for two years to date other women, and she took him back. This isn’t proof that the women dating him have all the options, it is proof that they desperately want the status that comes with being part of a couple, even if that status is mostly or entirely fictional. If they were really done with men, or at least with relationships, they wouldn’t be rooting around in the bottom of the SMP barrel.
The article offers up another hilarious anecdote, of 77 year old Rhoda Nadell who (in her mind) is surrounded by men who desperately want to marry her:
When a guy chats up 77-year-old Montrealer Rhoda Nadell at her tennis club, her brain quickly fast forwards: Dinner dates will turn into a relationship, which will inevitably find Nadell cooking, cleaning and eventually caregiving for the elderly gentleman.
For an idea of the kind of RPMs Nadell’s rationalization hamster is sustaining, see the picture of her at the top of the article.

That would be good news. Reality might be worse if Finland is our future. See their new government:
Sanna Marin, 34, Prime Minister
Katri Kulmuni, 32, Minister of Economic Affairs
Maria Ohisalo, 34, Minister of the Interior
Li Andersson, 32, Minister of Education
Anna-Maja Henriksson, 55, Minister of Justice.
This is, I believe, without historical precedent: a developed nation’s government of mostly young women. Aristophanes wrote about this in “Ecclesiazusai” – as a thought-experiment or parody.
Watch Finland. We can learn much from what happens next.
From other research I’ve seen, women at that age are primarily interested in security. If they already have that due to career or inheritance, they might be less interested in being the primary caregiver for a bloke they will probably outlive.
Meanwhile, where I live blokes that age settle down with women in their 20s and 30s, and are highly sought after. Options matter.
Meh. Remember the 79 year old knockout? Wish I could find that.
I fear that Finland will open the doors ever wider to Third World migrants.
Here’s the “79 year old complete knockout” comment, summarized in one of Big D’s posts.
https://dalrock.wordpress.com/2013/04/22/vox-explains-dalrocks-law/
Meh. It takes more effort for the older ants to rebuild the mound, that’s for sure.
Uhm?! Why should anyone care? The absurd thing is that we should all pretend to care that 65 year old single women would still care to date…
What even is this?!
You cannot believe the polls from older women because you do not know to what degree they are gaslighting. 35yo attractive women have told me about not being able to get a man their own age to date them. Men even beta simps find this out at some point. These women are so many decades past the wall, past denial that its truth to them they are alone forever.
Women know for a fact no man with any smv is chasing 77yo women they don’t even chase 37yo women. They hate this man.
Red Pill Latecomer says:
I fear that Finland will open the doors ever wider to Third World migrants.
The legs too.
What a crock. Women over 65, that is.
I was having brunch at a cafe with my sister, who is approaching 60. She started up a good lively chat with another friend I have breakfast with.
Later she said to me, “We get on well. But he would want a relationship if it went any further”.
Feminists will mis-characterise old women having a high SMV with anecdotes like Mr D’Alfonso.
They will do so to cover women’s innate selfishness.
When they were young, they wanted to travel. They wanted to see exotic sites. They wanted to eat at exquisite restaurants. They wanted to be massaged by skilled masseurs. They wanted sex with princes.
They did NOT want to learn how to cook, sew, look after children and a home, devote themselves to building a church and nation (the two go together).
Of course, they expected that the fairy tale would end with them becoming a wife to a “high-value” man, only to find that high-value men were looking for younger women who would not be the financial nuclear devices waiting to be detonated.
So they end up alone with cats, captives of their own selfishness while feminists write cover articles in pathetic attempts to convince us that the consequences of older women’s lives were not the result of their selfish choices, but because “high-value” men rejected them. Those bastards. How dare they?
And Larry Kummer / Red Pill Latecomer: I expect you will be dead right about Finland. Women in their 30s running a country are going to run it into the ground.
For an idea of the kind of RPMs Nadell’s rationalization hamster is sustaining, see the picture of her at the top of the article.
I did, and, I come back from puking all my stomach content!
That would be good news. Reality might be worse if Finland is our future. See their new government:
How many children does each have, and are they married to the fathers? That could make the difference between ‘very bad’ and ‘catastrophically bad’ outcomes.
“Even so, many senior-age men struggle living alone, growing lonely because they’d over-relied on their spouse “to be their best friend and their social co-ordinator,”
Riiiight! They didn’t ‘over-rely’ on their spouses; their spouses gave them ultimata along the lines of ‘your friends or me’.
Eddie, I was just counting all the Lonely Old Man myth and the rationalizations for it.
I lost count.
@Dalrock
This is a separate topic, but I wanted to throw it your way in case you might to blog about it.
I’ve been thinking lately about a lot of modern stuff regarding marriage; one of them is the man kneeling to propose to the woman. It is universally held that this is the proper way to be engaged, yet as you’ve pointed out this is rooted in courtly love. What’s interesting about that, is that it is the man pursuing the woman or placing himself before her for her to choose or reject.
Contrast this with one of the few times in the Bible regarding this part of the process toward marriage. In Ruth 3, Ruth places herself at Boaz’s feet while he is sleeping. His response to that when he wakes up indicates that culturally it was her way of indicating her desire to marry him and placing him in the position to choose or reject. This isn’t to say that Ruth’s situation either as as a widow or pursuing a kinsman redeemer was the norm for those times, but it really challenges the idea that the man should pursue and seek the favor of the woman, or whether it should be the other way around (or it depends on circumstance). I personally don’t have a fully developed opinion on the matter.
For an idea of the kind of RPMs Nadell’s rationalization hamster is sustaining, see the picture of her at the top of the article.
WooHoo! 77 is the new 76!
feministhater has a point. 65 year-old and dating should not even be in the same sentence.
But it has come to this.
I don’t care how old I am, I could never sleep with a woman who looks like my great aunt. They shot their bolt, They made their bed,,, now pay for everything you need, no more free favors. The only way I could love someone into senior years is with the memory of a loving lifetime. All these orbiting leftovers I would not touch with yours. They needed men like a fish needs a bicycle? I need them now like a free man needs an arsenic cocktail. Loneliness may suck but its better to rule in hell than to serve in…….hell.
Pingback: Fake news: Women over 65 are in the SMP power position. | Reaction Times
You men have it all wrong; here’s how it is. Women I know in their 60s who have lost a spouse to death have no intention of marrying some old guy and here’s why. They are DONE with sex, cooking and cleaning. The women I know are financially secure (and not only because of their husband’s income; most of them had careers after their children left home). They are happy to go to dinner with and PAY THEIR OWN WAY. They have no desire for a man to pay for anything and are not interested in having a “boyfriend” as you suggested. These women are perfectly happy being single. They have lots of friends and fulfilling lives with their grandchildren, hobbies, etc. Most elderly men seem to have less friends and hobbies. Sure, the single man in his 60s wants to get married; sex all the time, someone to cook and clean and take care of him. The “ideal” Christian marriage is the one where the woman stays home and the spouse supports her. If she no longer needs financial support, why should she marry? So she can do the wife things again and get no financial security out cf it? They don’t marry in their 60s because they don’t need or want to. And neither would I. I’m 64 and happily married but if my husband died I wouldn’t even consider marrying again. I have no intention of ever having sex with anyone other than my current husband. I have great children, grandchildren and lots of friends. I am very financially secure (partly because of my own professional life when my kids were grown), I have terrific long term care insurance. I could see having a male friend to have dinner with, possibly travel with, etc but I would never allow anyone to pay my way so I would never be indebted to anyone. Christian women spend their marriage essentially being indebted; he pays they bills so the wife has sex on demand and cooks his meals and cleans his house. Why the hell would a 65 year old woman sign up for that again? Nope.
According to the x = 1/2y + 7 rule, 65 year old women still have a good chance with men aged ~116. We can clearly understand their difficulty, considering the shortage of men of this age. 🙂
So, have they made their pilgrimage to Tehran yet, where they will wear hijabs and kiss the Mullah’s posteriors?
A good dry run (at least for us) to see what a country run by “the squad” would be like.
As low market value as D’Alfonso is, he commands more respect than these 4 quarter boys. Can’t call them full men since they’re partnered to one woman.
https://nypost.com/2019/12/06/polyamorous-florida-woman-with-4-boyfriends-is-pregnant/
One look at these “men” is worth a thousand words.
I am greatly relieved to learn that women in their seventies will not be beating a path to my door (phew).
My experience of Finnish women is limited in the biblical sense (to two) but I could not help but notice that Finnish women are on the basis of those two (unknown to each other) the most depressing people I have ever met – almost enough to make me seek to end it all – or seek out a non-Finn aged seventy-seven.
One thing that might surprise y’all about Finland (well it amazes me) is that presently in terms of classical music little Finland with a population less than that of Minnesota is one of the world’s power-houses with more orchestras per population and more composers with international reputations than virtually anywhere else and – to my ears – with the exception of the over-rated Kaija Saariaho – they are all men. This I cannot explain. What would Janne Sibelius say though if he did he would say it in Swedish.
Why are these people so obsessed with chores?
D’Alfonso believes women shouldn’t hesitate living with him because he cooks and keeps a tidy house. Rhoda Nadell is worried she will have to cook and clean for a man if she cohabitates. In the linked article they say “Many women resist moving in with men because they remember previous marriages and the unequal division of labour at home”
Chores aren’t that hard in the 21st century and if you’re a responsible adult, your’re doing all the household chores anyway. Housework is just a red herring, and is a convenient excuse for these women to reconcile the fact that now they are elderly, they have less SMP/MMP value now then they have ever had in their entire lives. I’m not saying there aren’t practical reasons for not wanting to get remarried, especially at an old age, but housework isn’t one of them.
The article says: “They’ve had careers, they’re liberated and they’re not dependent on the guy…When they hit this age, they’re not going to revert back to being their mothers and their grandmothers” which makes it sound like the only thing keeping these women from marriage or cohabitation is their awesome, liberated lives playing tennis. However, when you look at the 2016 statistics linked in the article, (https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/75-006-x/2019001/article/00003-eng.htm) once Canadians get to age 57, the number of single women becomes greater than the number of single men and the difference only increases as they get older. In other words, even if every woman above 57 wanted to get married, they couldn’t because there’s not enough men to go around.
Since this article saw fit to use Rhoda Nadell’s case as an example for the great position women can expect to find themselves as they get older, Rhoda is one of 36,700 77 year old women whereas there are only 14,975 single men her age making Rhoda part of 71% female majority of 77 year old singles. According to this article, as the percentage of single females increases the more “liberated”, “independent”, and less like their mothers and grandmothers they are. But when you look at the 1981 statistics for 77 year olds, you see that 38 years ago, the percentage of single women was actually greater at 78%.
Statistics can be (mis)used to give a facade of credibility to whatever someone is saying regardless of how ridiculous it is and in this case, Zosia Bielski (the author of the article) wants to give credibility to the fempowerment idea that women are happier without men and highly desirable regardless of their age whereas men are desperate for female attention and are beneficial only as an accessory for these women’s lives.
Dalrock, don’t dismiss this so quickly, I think you fail to take into account the huge growth of SIMPs and lower Beta orbiters out there…… the level of thirst has never been so bad in this screwed up SMP. There are dating experiments where women have gone on tinder with makeup making them look like old women and they are getting lots of attention & matches from younger males. See for example:
With the massive rise in males who get nothing, not evens scraps, their desperation can be the only reason for the attention they show to older women who decades ago would have been ignored. And if this is true then the “wall” perhaps might be shifting in women’s favor.
Even so, many senior-age men struggle living alone, growing lonely because they’d over-relied on their spouse “to be their best friend and their social co-ordinator,
When I am elderly, if Mychael dies first, it will be very difficult for me to make sense of my life. Isn’t that the point of life-long monogamous marriage?
@Larry Kilmer
The prime minister is 34, daughter of a lesbian couple, and has 1 child. Based on our conversation a couple of days ago, she seems like picture perfect low birth equality. She has her designer kid, like a handbag or phone, plus her career, so good, the peak of western woman.
In this article, liberation means freedom from family to enjoy your new corporate/government boyfriend. Lots of women have more loyalty and devotion to those two entities today than they will ever have for their families, past, present or future.

When my dad died, my mom was distraught, and remarked “I feel empty inside”. That’s what it means to become “one flesh”. The one thing that brought her out of that emotional state was moving in with my family, where she has a bunch of little grand children to love.
I doubt we’re meant to spend old age alone.
“I don’t care how old I am, I could never sleep with a woman who looks like my great aunt.”
When I was 21 or thereabouts, I rejected (trying not to show my horror) an attractive and stacked woman of 35, and another woman of 40-odd. Anyone over 25 may as well not have existed.
But I still find my wife attractive after 35 years. People change, or they learn to make a virtue of necessity. And wife goggles are a thing too.
Pity about Finland, I recommend a visit while it’s still there. Helsinki is a lovely capital, very relaxed feel and waterfront, diversity seems to be more in the suburbs. Same applies in spades to Oslo, chunks of which already resemble Pakistan. Stick to the west side of town, don’t go east of the station.
@Scavos
I saw that article in a number of places. Sexual losers are would-be mass shooters. That chick is doing yeoman’s work in keeping (currently) four of them off the streets. It’s time for more women to woman-up by performing this great service to society.
Riding the Grey Carousel.
What does she want out of a relationship?
Security? More working women will retire financially secure. And, the won’t want to put that money at risk by marrying.
Sex? See Dalrock’s “Are Women Over 50 Done With Sex?”
Companionship? They want to vacation, but not alone; dine out, but not alone.
Status? Having a man does confer some social status.
Isn’t this just the carousel part two? Women who want short term relationships for fun, but nothing more?
And won’t this work out the same way for men? These women will persue the 20% of apex males (money, looks, good health, good physical shape) and ignore the other 80% of men. Only, instead of having sex for sex’s sake, the will be trading sex for short term companionship and status.
I’ve heard from many widows that they’d never remarry. It’s as if the modern married woman has only one partner in a lifetime that they think they want to “take care of.”
Now, they all were still lonely. I guess “dating” for the rest of their short time for some reason fills the void.
Is D’Alfonso’s screen name Artisanal Toad? I know he liked to date the widows.
Hugh Mann: When I was 21 or thereabouts, I rejected (trying not to show my horror) an attractive and stacked woman of 35, and another woman of 40-odd. Anyone over 25 may as well not have existed.
When I was 21, I found many women in their 30s, and a few in their 40s, to be attractive, and would have gladly dated them.
When I was 28, I did date an extremely sexy 34-year-old divorcee. Her legs were especially well toned, as she loved to dance and work out. She was also very easy and “loose.” And she lived in my building, so it was very convenient. On the down side, she was flighty, irresponsible, and had the brain of a turnip.
But there are many sexy women in their 30s, and even 40s — at least in Los Angeles, where fitness and maintaining your looks are part of the culture. Yes, there are many tattooed land whales in the U.S., but not every woman “hits the wall” at 40.
Obviously Finland hasn’t learned a damned thing from its neighbor, Sweden, and appears set to replicate it to the thousandth power.
I think at the age we’re talking about in the article (65+) it’s more about companionship. And given that women tend to live longer, it actually makes a lot of sense for women at this age to be very hesitant to marry.
My mom is a very traditional woman, whose marriage had lasted well over four decades when she became a widow. Still “only” in her mid 60’s at the time (and still alive now in her 90’s, although not doing so well physically), she never contemplated remarriage, nor did she even date. First of all, out of loyalty and respect to my father. But also, as she told me, “Why would I want to end up becoming some old codger’s nursemaid in the years I have left?”
And that’s exactly what happened to a girlfriend of hers. Widowed after a life-long marriage, dated and remarried, and a year into the marriage the new husband had a debilitating stroke. Sure enough, she ended up becoming his nursemaid.
Now it’s one thing to have to become the nursemaid of the man you married in your youth, built a life with, raised a family with, etc. That then because an act of sacrificial love. But this was supposed to just be about companionship!
So the solution for old women is either eschew men altogether and focus on girlfriends, church activities, your children and grandchildren (which is what my widowed mom did)…OR “date” for companionship but leave it at the boyfriend and girlfriend level. After all, though there can be some romance involved, it’s doubtful there’s much of any sex going on in your late 60’s and 70’s. So don’t move in with the guy or marry him. That way, when he strokes out, it falls back on his children to take care of him. Because the two of you were “just dating”.
Anyway, my 2 cents.
@ feeriker
How does a country go from ferociously fighting the Soviet empire all by itself, with a relatively tiny population, to willingly importing its own destruction in just one lifetime?
All these sorts of articles make me wonder if the author actually believes what she (almost invariably she) is writing. Look at Zosia Bielski. What does she really think about these old women? To her they must seem almost like mummies from the crypt. Remember how old even the middle aged looked to us when we were young? What does she really think of Mr. D’Alfonso chasing after what would be his fourth wife?
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/authors/zosia-bielski/
When interviewing these old women does she think ‘it will never happen to me’, or does she want it all to be true so that she herself is well positioned for several decades out?
And here again we see evidence of Rollo’s, if he was the originator, men love romantically and women love opportunistically.

At a guess, I’d say that the same social changes we see all around us in the Anglosphere have been working in Finland. So…pretty much the same process as Sweden (who fought no one). It’s interesting that the Danes seem to be the sanest of the Nordic countries, at least for now.
This whole ‘women voting” thing doesn’t seem to be working out the way it was advertised.

Thanks for the link. It’s important to get a look at the authoress of these puff pieces, just to see where they are in relation to the Wall. Perhaps she takes a kind of anthropologist approach to this kind of story?
The law of supply and demand clearly applies in the social world of people over 65. When one of my grandmothers died in her 70’s, my grandfather grumbled to me and other family members about “too many widows coming out of the woodwork”. He never remarried, but not for lack of trying by the 70-something widow set. That alone belies the premise.

Oscar: How does a country go from ferociously fighting the Soviet empire all by itself, with a relatively tiny population, to willingly importing its own destruction in just one lifetime?
Ireland is just as strange. For centuries, they fought the English, because the English were foreign invaders. The Irish wanted to be ruled by their own people, and the English were too alien. Even the Scots were too alien. They could never really be Irish.
And now Ireland is importing Africans, who (many Irish “progressives” will insist) are “just as Irish” as anyone born in Ireland.
As long as they are a tiny minority that remains out of sight they can pat themselves on the back for being so progressive (I still can’t believe that their Prime Minister is a non Celtic sodomite). But when those new arrivals swell and start to clamor that Ireland is theirs the that the Celtic Irish need to go somewhere and die, then it’s too late to fix the problem without violence.
“After all, though there can be some romance involved, it’s doubtful there’s much of any sex going on in your late 60’s and 70’s.”
If you are not married, there’s definitely some sex going on.
The typical bachelor (of any age) isn’t hanging out with a woman; isn’t going to dinners and shows; isn’t going on vacations unless there is some sex going on.
This is why I labeled it the grey carousel. These marriage-is-off-the-table women must be trading something for companionship. Women, even at 70, know what men want.
Note the guy in the story sounds like a plate spinner. and she is ok with it. She’s OK providing him the occasional service to get what she wants, and OK with him persuing his wants elsewhere when she wants to be alone ( or with another guy).

I don’t think Ireland will go quietly into the night. My in-laws, only two generations removed from Ireland, are hardcore Progressives but yet get very quiet when asked if Irish culture can survive a million migrants flooding the island. I think the Irish people will rouse themselves and fight back, possibly sooner than most of Western Europe. The country’s main problem is that the EU has been propping it up financially; hard times are coming. But then, hard times are coming for all of us.
@Damn Crackers
Neither of my grandmothers remarried after their husbands died. One, because she would have had no options regardless. The other, widowed in her early fifties, loved her husband dearly but has told me in the past that she misses the daily physical contact and affection. She did date a man for a long while in her sixties, and they wanted to get married, but the way Medicare works, it was impossible for her to do so. They eventually broke it off.
“C’mon. She’s seeing other men too, and he is not top of her list.”
Or maybe she isn’t the top of his list.
I know a couple of old maids who claim to have received several marriage proposals in their life. Sometimes people hear what they want to hear. Maybe she’s hearing he wants to get serious, or saying as much to save her pride (if he’s plate spinning with other women).
The guy wants those women to live with him, while he should have 12 of them in a rotation. See each 1 every 12 weeks 😏

One thing that might keep the “new Irish” at bay could be inferior gibs in Ireland when compared to other EU nations. Notice how migrants tend to eschew the less wealthy countries and instead head to Germany, France and the UK, where the welfare bennies are more generous.
Sinn Fein seem to be as pozzed as any of the parties. But at least the invaders aren’t English!

They never pass from insanity into reality over time. At 75, with a string of divorces and failed relationships, these delusional leftardesses still are trying to “date.”
They’re just far too many cucks and cunts these days. Maybe after decades or a century or more of unbearable suffering these morons will learn. Lots of pain and suffering is going to have to rain down on these idiots before they learn anything. Most are just too damned stupid to learn any other way.

This unconstitutional govt. advocacy for family destruction is a trillion dollar industry for state governments nationwide. Eventually all forms of support stop, and what you have left is the largest population of woman in US history entering senior years alone without family support since family culture was torn apart by their own actions. With the other uncontrolled industries here like nursing homes at 20 g’s a month, how will uncle sam flip the bill to support this monster they created through their manipulative legislators in the last 4 decades? This cushioned generation of “deserve everything woman” or “dependent independents” will feel the pain more than any of our hard sacrificing responsible grands of the past. We are left with a culture of decimated family values that will be magnified by the next generation already suffering the effect.
Not all that surprising. I am of about that age, and in my twenties it was hard to find women who wanted to commit. Lots wanted sex and dates, but getting them to marry was hard.
@Dale “I am of about that age, and in my twenties it was hard to find women who wanted to commit. Lots wanted sex and dates, but getting them to marry was hard.”
Really? I am in my early sixties now, but that was not my experience at all back in the day (west coast Canada 70’s and early 80’s until I got married myself). Generally if you were a steady couple, you more or less had to ask her to marry you or move on, after a year or two. The pressure was always that the girls didn’t want to waste too much of their youth by simply dating, and a decent guy either decided he was not ready yet and so moved on, or decided he was ready to marry and settle down. The pressure was almost 100% from the female side in those days, and frankly I cannot remember even one of my now married male friends who were sexually active for an extended period of time with a woman who did not want commitment through marriage in return.
I am just back from the polling station – our first winter election in over one hundred years. This is what happened. I arrive at the station with a card which I received through the post on which is written my name and address. I hand the card to a lady at a table and she asks me to tell her my name . I say I am Opus which is the name written on the card that I have just handed to her. Her slave for I think he had to have been one because he was black, very black in fact, and there are very few people of that physical description around here, handed me a sheet of paper and I then disappear into a cubicle. On the card are five names – all male – this is not Finland. Two I had never heard of and both claimed to be Independent and were obviously slugging it out for last place. The other three each represented one of the three main parties. With a thick pencil which they provide I mark an X in the box next to my chosen candidate and then coming out of the cubicle place it through a slot in a metal box. The box will be sealed before being opened and the votes counted later tonight. I have not been following the election and I was thus surprised that along with the lack of females seeking election that out of five but of parties represented, there was no Brexit, no UKIP, no Green nor even the extremely annoying local spinster from the Women’s Supremacy Party (which she spells Equality). Unlike last month’s borough election I was not mugged and harangued as I entered and exited the polling station by a large Liberal Democrat women (she is neither liberal nor democratic) and surrounded by her equally large male minders.
Other than in the last few days receiving though the post an election communication from each of the three main parties, the only other communication I have had was when a couple of weeks ago in the centre of town I came across a woman handing out blue leaflets. Seeing the name of the candidate (one of the Tory rebels) I asked the lady handing out the leaflets whether he was standing as an independent but was informed that The Prime Minster had now restored the whip – that sis to say welcomed him back into the fold. ‘He is just there’ she said pointing close to where I had been standing but I had not recognised the former Minister for Administrative Affairs.
This seems all rather odd and unusually low-key.
“Nigerian romance scam”
Man I had totally forgotten about that!
About ten years ago, and older acquaintance of mine (over 60) was using one of those geriatric match.com sites and there was a guy showing interest in her who said he was retired General Peter Schoomaker. He even used the official DA photo of him right from the wikipedia page.
She felt it seemed a little strange so she sent me some screen shots from his profile, because, you know I was in the army and that makes me an expert on whatever.
The grammar was horrible. He used weird titles like “the very high general of the American army” and stuff like that.
It was awesome. Especially that she thought the recently retired army chief of staff would be cruising old chicks on a site like that and picked her! How exciting!
…and just to be clear, this was an boomer spinster who divorced a perfectly good husband back in the 80s for the usual “irreconcilable differences” canard.
She could have lived out her years with a sweet loving man to grow old with and keep her warm at night. But she chose to hop out of commitment for freedom from marriage.
@dale. That was my experience also only found 1 woman who was ever interested in marriage in my late 20s she was 30s. And i married her. Dated several chicks they would break up with me over the tiniest things that made zero sense. They have it in their mind if they dont express how high status they are they are wasting time. The only way to do that is to break up with guys and move on laughing.
And they laughed till the wall. Seriously i see several girls i had dated and they look at me like that was my best option and i fucked up! They all ditched me not the other way. Its a game of chicken. Hold out till your 35 my goodness the ball will definitely b in your court.
Most men only get “lonely” from their late teens to about mid 20s when their testosterone levels are running off the charts. After the hormone settles down, so does the drive for company. I only have one friend over 50 who actively tries to date, and he falls into the category of someone who never had much female attention during those testosterone spike years.
@ Scott
“She could have lived out her years with a sweet loving man to grow old with and keep her warm at night. But she chose to hop out of commitment for freedom from marriage.
And what do they free themselves from? Now they HAVE TO SERVE the “other men” in their lives without question or argument which includes their mortgage bankers, landlords, employment bosses, high billed service providers etc. ,,,, All demanding and not being obligated to listen to their problems or understand them emotionally or dumped on, or screwed over,,, Now its shit or get off the pot.
Was equality in the american labor force about womans rights or was it to put the other half of the US population to work enabling industry more hands stagnating pay levels eventually forcing both sexes to work in the factory out of necessity while giving government partner double the income tax? sounds like a win – win to me. (no need to look at what happened to family since the 50;s as a consequence)
@Scott
Brother, it would appear that you rescued a(n undeserving) “damsel in distress” when you probably should have let General Kofi Schoomaker get his hooks into her. He was, after all, the man she clearly deserved.
@ Red Pill Latecomer
Ireland really saddens me. For centuries, Ireland was one of the most devoutly Catholic countries, yet the Irish actually voted for abortion and gay marriage. Americans never voted for abortion and gay marriage. We had both foisted on us by the Supreme Court.

Shrug.
As a widower, I haven’t noticed this ‘trend’. It’s rather the opposite! I dress down, and am still propositioned on occasion. It gets louder and crazier when they find out I own my home (no mortgage) and have money. It’s one of the reasons I stopped going to church.
Elspeth
I think it’s super cool that you read a website called “pageant circle”

Not really. Nambia has a big population of both Germans and Afrikaners. Of which Miss Breytenbach is one.
It was run by South Africa from 1915 to 1991 and Germany before 1914.
RPL,
You were going for a fling, not a long term relationship.
Scott,
I can relate far too much to that. Housework is far too much and too time consuming even if nothing else is required outside the home.
Being single and free is far more important, Biblical truth be damned!
James,
But they are free in that servitude!
Hugh,
She has a figure to fall within my interest zone (not ideal, but not horrid), but the look on her face would keep me far from her.

Of course it was your fault! They couldn’t be responsible for anything bad!
Myopia,
I get incredibly lonely and I am in your target age range.
I bet you have plenty of friends, acquaintances and such. Some of us have none and life is quite hard alone. God said it is not good for man to be alone and that has not changed, even though it is a state many men find themselves in outside their control.
Larry,
The Biblical curse is that “women shall rule over you.”
Scott,
It was awesome. Especially that she thought the recently retired army chief of staff would be cruising old chicks on a site like that and picked her! How exciting!
Yep. Note that the women who get swindled aren’t just losing a three-digit amount. They are losing ALL of their money, which is often $1M or more. See the links for where I archived the articles where women lose six and seven-digit amounts.
If they had a billion, they would even lose that. The amount was capped by what they had, not by them coming to a realization.
The thing is, they have money because they divorced their man and got their ill-gotten cash and prizes. Then, their lack of sophistication got them swindled. A married couple could never get swindled in this way.
Plus, apparently Game works. They got persuaded to send money based only on text-based communication (obviously they never even got to the stage of audio with the Nigerian).
James Smith asks:
“And what do they free themselves from? Now they HAVE TO SERVE the “other men” in their lives without question or argument which includes their mortgage bankers, landlords, employment bosses, high billed service providers etc. ,,,, All demanding and not being obligated to listen to their problems or understand them emotionally or dumped on, or screwed over,,, Now its shit or get off the pot.”
This comment is so strange to me. Doesn’t virtually everyone, male and female, married or not, have to “serve” such masters?
And why cast it as “service” (though I do get it in the context of a job) rather than a mutually beneficial transaction? I guess the theory is that women are better off serving a husband rather than having full responsibility for a mortgage. That doesn’t compute.
LOL Nigerian romance scammers. I constantly get Facebook friend requests from unknown men who present themselves as American military men (often four star generals!) or guys working on oil rigs. Then you look at their page and they only have five friends – all from Nigeria. I think the military and oil rigs are used as covers to explain why the scammer is never available in person or why the scammer is stuck abroad in urgent need to a wire transfer.
I am dying to respond, pretend to fall in love, dangle the prospect of all sorts of money out there, and keep stringing them along. But I don’t have the time for such a sustained effort.
@Oscar
A large number of clerical scandals turned the Irish against the priesthood. Sexual abuse of children by priests, physical abuse in children’s homes, large numbers of avoidable deaths of mothers and infants in homes for unmarried women, bodies of those dead infants discarded like rubbish, and cover-up of all the above by the Church – repeated many times over. Most priests were not bad, but when they preached the Church’s position on the sanctity of all human life, people saw it as rank hypocrisy. Over the last 30 years, weekly church attendance in Ireland has fallen from 90% to 35% of the population. Most Irish people are still Christian, but they have lost respect for the organised Church.

More reasons why I think they have already “gone quietly into the night”. And as you a said, they voted for this. It wasn’t shoved down their throats by a judge.
It is my personal opinion that any nation that goes down this path is already dead and its extinction and replacement by another people is a done deal. Someday historians will write of the Celts the way they write of the Aztecs: a people who no longer exist in their original form. Sure, there will be people with names like O’Reilly, but they will be multiracial, like Mexico’s mestizos. The old native tongue will be spoken by few and will be an academic curiosity, much like the Nahuatl language is today,
In the US one is instructed to use a pen to mark a ballot.

The speed with which formerly Christian countries are sliding down the slippery slope leads me to believe that they (we) are under God’s judgement, as described in Romans 1.
Indeed. I’ve begun regularly responding to ‘”Christians” who gleefully parrot the “Jesus Is Coming Soon!” cry that this event will resemble less the return of a long-absent object of love and affection than the arrival of an avenging angel that will punish wrongdoers –certainly to include sinful pretenders to the Faith– with unimaginable fury and ferocity. This is something that most of human civilization Christian or not, is completely unable to grasp and is unprepared to face.
James K: A large number of clerical scandals turned the Irish against the priesthood. … Most priests were not bad, but
Every demographic group has bad apples. But the media creates a false narrative by cherry picking stories. Here in the U.S., both entertainment and news media amplify bad Christians, while hiding bad Jews.
Movies are full of greedy, lecherous, thieving, and even murderous, priests, ministers, bishops, and cardinals. Remember the evil Cardinal who ruled Sin City? Or the priest who robbed the dead in Kingdom of God? So many examples. By contrast, rabbis are always humble, honest, and wise.
No wonder a recent poll in the U.S. said that Judaism was the most respected religion in the U.S. People of Christian heritage (but lapsed) take it for granted that Christians are typically hypocrites, and Christian clergy are often vile.
I don’t know about Irish media, but U.S. media has decades eroded respect for Christianity. It’s not just the negative portrayals. It’s the secularizing and erasure of Christmas, and so much else.
By contrast, Jews are portrayed as noble Holocaust victims, brave Israelis, or piously religious. A bit neurotic, perhaps, but basically good and decent.
Margaret,
The point is that women don’t want to marry or stay married because they would have to server a man.
You are too much “team woman” and missed the point.
They serve men all the time as a single woman. Their drive to be single is just selfishness and rebellion, not truly the freedom they claim to seek. That would especially be true for those who dumped a reasonable husband to get to the single state again.
Spain seeks to recruit women for its special forces: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-50756817
Spain’s defence ministry is opening more special forces roles to women as part of international efforts to tackle terrorism and unconventional warfare.
Defence Minister Margarita Robles says the UN has called for more women to help resolve conflicts worldwide.
Arabic-speaking women are among those sought for UN- or Nato-led missions in conflict areas, such as Iraq or Libya.
Ms Robles was visiting the army’s command for special operations, where some women have joined elite units. …
Some jobs are reserved for women, such as searching women at checkpoints.
In conservative, patriarchal societies it can be easier for women to glean intelligence from local women, who may be kept away from foreign men.
Visiting the MOE in April, Ms Robles said “we want to make a significant bid to involve more women in these missions – this is a priority”.
In 1999 Spain opened up most military jobs to women and the proportion of women in its armed forces is now 12.7% – above the Nato average of 11.1%. The defence minister says Spain still needs to recruit many more women.
@ Margaret
Because there’s a lot of overlap between those two categories.
It’s not a “theory”. Feminists convinced women that serving (while being served by, protected by, cherished by, and provided for by) a husband is “oppression”, while serving a boss (typically a man) is “freedom”. And now women are more miserable than ever, as evidenced by both self-reported studies over the decades, and the out-of-control use of antidepressants among women.
Maybe you should go give this some actual thought before making any more foolish comments.
@ James K & Red Pill Latecomer
It’s true that the abuses that happened in the Catholic Church in Ireland were exaggerated (as they were in the USA), but it’s also true that they happened, and it’s also true that the Catholic Church responded to those abuses, not by exposing and punishing the abusers, but by covering its ass, and in some cases attacking the abused (as they did in the USA).
As the saying goes; it’s the cover-up, not the crime.
And yes, it’s true that other organizations are worse. For example, int the USA, a kid is 100x more likely to be sexually abused at a government school than at a Catholic Church, but nobody wants to talk about that.
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/forgotten-study-abuse-in-school-100-times-worse-than-by-priests
Still, the Church is the last place where a parent should have to worry about their kid being abused. And the Church should be more passionate about rooting out evil in its own ranks than any other organization. After all, Jesus said that “inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me” (Matt 25).
Finally, it’s also true that much of the trouble in the Church is caused by tolerance of sodomites and other perverts. The Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, commanded us to excise sexual immorality from the Church, not tolerate it (1 Cor 5).
All these things are true simultaneously. They do not contradict each other.
When the Church fails in its responsibility to be the light of the world, the city on the hill, she invites judgement on herself, and the culture it serves.
I think that is what we see now.
@Anonymous Reader
You are probably right but it is our tradition to use a thick pencil. I realise that our very constitutional arrangements will seem daft to Americans but such they are. So when I ventured out this morning I saw the headline in The Times which read Bloodbath. As for my own constituency I see on-line that my man secured 55% of the vote in a turnout of 73%. Hopefully then that means no more elections until 2024 (we have three time this year been to the polls) with Brexit on 1st Jan 2020 to which I can only say well done Boris and Yeeeeeeeeees !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Margaret-
It’s so sad to hear marriage described in transactional terms.
Sure, there is a sense in which the social contract between married couples includes roles and expectations, but those roles exist as general guidelines to follow. In exigent circumstances, they cannot be met.
My husband was deployed several times when he was on active duty. He could not physically take care of me, could not fix things were broken. I could not, um, take care of him the way he needs either.
Was the contract void during those times?
If a man loses his legs and can no longer perform any of his primary husband duties, is he no longer a husband?
It is an absolute pleasure to serve my husband, especially if he seems overwhelmed or tired, or psychologically down. It’s the reason God gave us to each other. If it was a transaction, I would keep score of how many times I have done that for him and him for me. And I would be resentful and disappointed because women’s tendency is toward that kind of mindset. To police the husband and make sure he is living up to his side of the deal.
Inre “Margaret:”
C’mon now, guys, you should by now be able to recognize when you’re being trolled.
“but U.S. media has decades eroded respect for Christianity.”

There is a new term, well at least new to me,to denigrate men. It is called “Mascupathy”. My post is not as OT as it might first appearance, because it demonstrates one of the main themes in this article, namely that women will always find fault with men no matter how accommodating they become to female wants and desires.

If that was sarcasm to imply that media is not dominated by Jews, then I wish you the best of luck in trying to argue that point. Media is overwhelmingly Jewish.
@ Stephanie,, You may find “the manipulated man” written by an Argentine female scholar interesting.
A person doesn’t need to be called Sadie Shapiro or Shlomo Finklestein to be Jewish. Castro was Jewish and there is evidence that suggests that Elvis Presley was Jewish. Miles W Mathis has written an article which presents rather compelling evidence that Mel Gibson is Jewish.
The site “your tango” has a separate page for astrology and horoscopes plus tarot cards.
That says it all.
That Mathis article doesn’t meet even the most elemental standards of proof. It’s full of circumstantial, anecdotal and easily falsifiable ‘evidence’. The publication is aimed precisely at fools. It does however beg the question “what’s in a name?”
History is replete with people changing their family names for one reason or another, not just Jews. It seems anyone can call themselves Jacob (Israel), for example.
Is a Jew a Jew:
A) by race
B) by religion
C) by identity
D) some combination or none of the above?
If A, proof is DNA (matrilineal).
If B, proof is Toranic/Talmudic faith.
If C, ‘proof’ is whatever the subject says.
If D, we can all be Jews if we want to be.
If Mel’s a Jew, I’m a Jew. I’m not a Jew. Or maybe we’re all Jews now.

I read Dalrock’s post and started following some links that led me eventually to the infamous “Are Women Done With Men After Age 55?”
1,757 comments! Many of which appear to start off with ‘I am a woman of xx years though everyone says I look xx minus 20’.
Later that very same day I heard Bruce Springsteen on the radio.

Stephanie G: A person doesn’t need to be called Sadie Shapiro or Shlomo Finklestein to be Jewish. Castro was Jewish … and there is evidence that suggests that Elvis Presley was Jewish.
Since the resurrection of Jesus, the core of Jewish identity is rejection of Jesus. Judaism is literally anti-Christ. Opposed to Christ. You can believe whatever else — atheism, Buddhisim, Marxism, capitalism, even Satanism — and still be considered a Jew: https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-haunted-salem-a-jewish-church-founder-preaches-the-art-of-satanic-social-change/
Jewish ethnicity trumps beliefs. Except when those beliefs are Christian. When you accept Christ, Jews no longer regard you as an ethnic Jew. The ultra-Orthodox even recite the prayer for the dead for a Jewish child who accepts Jesus. And in a sense, they are correct. The Jew is in fact “born again” as a new person.
Ivanka Trump is now a Jew. As Jewish as any other Jew. And whatever his DNA, Mel Gibson is not.
Judaism is the only religion in which you remain a member even if you’re an atheist, because Jews are also an ethnicity.
But the reverse is also true. It’s the only ethnicity which you can shed by converting to a religion — specifically, to Christianity.
I know there are Messianic Jews who think they can keep a foot in both doors. But they can’t. Sincere believers in Jesus are Christians. Both Christians and Jews regard Messianic Jews as Christians.
I would like to protest the assertion that Elvis Aaron Presley was … anything other than Welsh. There is in Wales a St Elvis village (rumoured), Presley is clearly a corruption of Preseli as in the Preseli Mountains of Wales; his parents both had Welsh Names (Vernon and Gladys) and his dark good looks are typically Welsh. Case closed.
Then again he might be French: Elvis being a corruption of Allviss meaning all wise and there is a French St Alviss, and Presley is a frenchification of Priestley (PriestHoel – someone who lives in a priests field) and there were a lot of French people in places like Baton Rouge which is not far from the great State of Mississippi where your boy was born (though not in a stable).
Elvis once set foot in Great Britain (we are very proud of that) – somewhere up in the north of Scotland on a lay-over on his return as Sgt Presley from West Germany to The United States and as such is surely an honourary Scot.

Miles W Mathis is known for being a complete idiot. His delusion about his own intelligence is one of the purest forms of Dunning-Kruger you will ever find. Mychael,
I am sure you and Scott have struggles, but you are both truly blessed.
Jesus was/is Jewish.
BillyS: Jesus was/is Jewish.
Jesus was not Jewish in the sense that modern Talmudic Jews are Jewish.
Jesus was a Jew who believed in Jesus. Today, that’s known as Christianity. Christianity is the Judaism of Jesus.
Whatever Jesus’ ethnicity, whatever religious labels he used during His time on Earth, His teachings and beliefs are today known as Christianity. Christ was a Christian in the same sense that Marx was a Marxist, or Freud was a Freudian.
Modern Jews are very dishonest in their use of labels. They reject any Jew who believes in Jesus. They say that such a Jew is no longer a Jew. Yet, though Jesus believed in Jesus, they insist that Jesus was a Jew. Not because they accept Jesus as a Jew, but because it’s good PR.
Modern Jews use the talking point, “Jesus was a Jew,” to confuse Christians. Some Christians think, if Jesus was a Jew, then to follow Jesus, I should follow Judaism. Thus you have Christians who become Judaized. They practice Jewish rituals, celebrate Jewish holidays. They celebrate Jewish ethnicity. They invite rabbis to help them interpret the Bible. (As though rabbis who don’t see Jesus in the OT are useful Biblical teachers.) They blindly support Israel. All because they think it will “bring them closer to Jesus.”
I’ve read that many Messianic Jews are of gentile background. Former evangelical Christians who converted to Messianic Judaism to “get closer to Jesus.”

More evidence that male thirst is very real and very powerful.
BillyS and RPL: I have a grandfather Ray Duffy who was Irish and who has been dead for many years (Missoula, Kalispell, and Flathead Lake were his stomping grounds). In any meaningful sense, is Ray still Irish? We should probably say “no”, because Ray no longer exists. He hasn’t for a long time.
The same is true of Jesus. He died a Jewish Rabbi. When he came up out of the grave, what was he? When he appeared and disappeared at will, who was he? After he was transfigured, who was he?
Well – according to many of the creeds and/or confessions of faith, Jesus was fully God and fully man while alive on earth. The fully-man part has long since obeyed God’s dictum to Adam and Eve: for you are dust, and to dust you shall return. That part of Jesus is as my grandfather Ray is – nonexistant, except as dust. (If my grandfather Ray is not still Irish, Jesus is probably not still Jewish. The God part of Jesus stayed God according to the Bible. And I don’t think God is any particular religion, much less Jewish. (And I know, where is Jesus’ body if it returned to dust? But if it did not return to dust, if it could not return to dust, then is it really true that he was fully man?)
And I know many folks named Jesus who are not Jewish but Hispanic.
My point: debating over a statement such as Jesus was / is Jewish is fruitless, because none of the terms have been defined. And they need to be defined first, as my comments here show. Elsewise you have no way of knowing that you are both debating the same thing.
Finally: If a “christian” is one who follows Christ, and if the disciples and Jesus followed the Traditions of the Temple up until the death of Jesus, when did the disciples become “christians”? (rhetorical question). That gives us a clue as to when Jesus became a christian – by becoming a follower of himself – for those who want to think about such things.
RPL,
Modern Judaism has strayed far from what it was in Jesus’ day, but God still chose the Jews as His people and has unfinished business with them.
All of them will not be saved, but the remnant will return to Him in the future. That is clearly in the Scriptures Christians claim to follow, though many have discarded those things, or handwaved them away.
I oppose people based on their actions, not their ethnicity.
Perhaps they do. I have never heard it though.
RichardP,
Jesus remains fully God and fully man, so He remains who he was when He walked this earth.
Keep in mind that the crowd in front of the Throne in the book of Revelation was “of every tribe….” That means they maintained their tribal (ethnic) identity even after death.
The Scriptures do not remove our culture, they join it into the Body of Christ. Significant difference.
I will not argue it though, believe whatever idiocy you want. I just follow what is written.
Cutting down all Jews, as some are wont to do is just as stupid as cutting down all Irish, Hispanics, etc. It is foolish.
Note that Jesus will still sit on the Throne of David and that was a Jewish throne.
If a “christian” is one who follows Christ, and if the disciples and Jesus followed the Traditions of the Temple up until the death of Jesus, when did the disciples become “christians”?
They were always Christians, though they also called themselves Jews. They saw no contradiction in being both Jews and Christians. That distinction — that you must choose one or the other designation — originated with the Jews who rejected Jesus.
The vine of the True Faith has undergone many name changes. Abraham and Moses never heard the words “Jew” or “Christian,” and in that sense, they were neither Jews nor Christians. Yet they are of the vine that was later called “Jew,” and later still “Christian.” But it’s the same vine.
Those who rejected Jesus were broken off the vine. They still called themselves “Jews,” but they were now something other than the Jews-now-called-Christians who remained on the vine.
BillyS: Modern Judaism has strayed far from what it was in Jesus’ day, but God still chose the Jews as His people and has unfinished business with them.
Dispensationalism? That’s heresy.
God’s people are the Jews who followed Christ, and the gentiles who joined them.
The Jews who rejected Christ are like the Jews who rebelled with Korah, or who worshiped Baal. Were Korah’s rebels or Ahab still God’s people? They are broken off the vine, and are the same as any pagan.
Modern Jews do not know Abraham or Moses, and might not even have a close ethnic connection to ancient Israelites. They are the same as any gentile. If they accept Christ, they are saved. If not, then not.
@ Red Pill Latecomer
What Billy is talking about is not “dispensationalism”, it’s straight from Scripture, specifically Romans 11. I won’t quote the whole chapter here, but you can read it for yourself.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+11&version=NKJV
God isn’t done with the physical descendants of Abraham yet. God is using us gentiles to “provoke them to jealousy”.
We don’t know, nor should we pretend to know, what God has planned for the physical descendants of Abraham. Obviously, every Jew who rejects Christ is lost (as the Apostle Paul makes clear), just as every gentile who rejects Christ is lost. But, we don’t know how the Apostle Paul’s prophesy will play out.
Does that mean that when “the fullness of the Gentiles has come in”, all the Jews who are left on Earth will accept Christ as their Messiah? What does the Apostle Paul even mean when he says that “the fullness of the Gentiles has come in”?
I don’t know. None of us knows. It’s a “mystery”.
Nevertheless, God is clearly not done with the physical descendants of Abraham, as the Apostle Paul makes clear. He has some plan to show them mercy, not for their sake, but for His name’s sake.
Let’s not be like the Pharisees, who had the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy standing right in front of them, and completely missed Him, because they were “wise in [their] own opinion”.
Arachnophobia- Fear of cold blooded Feminist woman now baiting and using their men to provide the fertilization to their seed and then tearing them to pieces for their personal consumption afterwards, compliments of the State Legislators.
The major problem appears to be the fact that the male sex drive is orders of magnitude stronger than the female sex drive, even in the geriatric population. While life-long marriage was once used to channel the male sex drive to build families and civilizations, feminism has completely derailed its usefulness to civilization. I believe feminism would never have been possible without the existence and manipulation of this extreme disparity. We men must overcome our natural drive to avoid catastrophic manipulation, since most will not have the opportunity to channel it into a constructive path.
A useful example of catastrophic manipulation is found in the New Testament, where the daughter of Herodias twerks in front of King Herod, for which he offers her up to half his kingdom and ultimately ends up killing the greatest of the prophets and losing his immortal soul, all for the sake of a measly twerk! The vast difference in value of the offerings of Herod and the daughter of Herodias is truly staggering, yet we frequently observe such lopsided transactions and are encouraged to make them “to be a gentleman” or for some other “reason” that has nothing to do with reason.
My father remarried in his seventies to a thrice-divorced septuagenarian after my mother died, for reasons I cannot grasp. By my observation he got the poor end of the deal and all the benefit accrues to his wife. The idea of having someone to care for him may have been a factor due to progressive memory loss and other health problems. Geriatric marriage is incomprehensible to me because nothing remains for the couple to build. Marriage without the possibility of building a life and a family together seems completely devoid of purpose.
@Quiet Desperation
Is your father wealthy? That could explain it. Wives are de facto firstborn sons under modern inheritence laws.
Quiet Desperation
I don’t get it either. Mychael and I were 32 and 35 when we married. Now that I am almost 50, I cannot believe the lifetime of stuff we have crammed into a little shy of 14 years. Graduate school, a second, commissioned half of my army career, buying a house, buying retirement property, 4 babies, and this married life would not make sense without all that stuff. All that love, the ups and downs, the doubts and fears, successes and failures.
It would be really weird to marry someone knowing that you won’t be able to build most of that together.
“Nigerian romance scam”
Three Nigerian fraudsters living in England actually used Neil Strauss’ book The Game as a manual to snare a woman who they took £1.6 million from.

I tend to assume the frausters are Igbo, the cleverest of the Nigerian ethnic groups. I wish I could get women I’ve never met to give me money. Half a million would do – I’m not greedy.
“They also used a book of love poems called For You, My Soul Mate: Loving Messages To Share With A Very Special Person, by Douglas Pagels to help them seduce the unsuspecting woman.”
Hugh Mann,
Three Nigerian fraudsters living in England actually used Neil Strauss’ book The Game as a manual to snare a woman who they took £1.6 million from.
Yep. Unfortunately, but necessary corrective force. Note that the amount is only capped by the woman running out. Someone like Sheryl Sandberg or Mackenzie Bezos (or even still-married Melinda Gates) could easily turn a Nigerian fraudster into a billionaire.
I miss the manosphere from about 5 years ago… I love Dalrock and Rollo, but they’re not always very prolific. Censorship, burn out and other factors have really made it difficult to “charge the batteries” nowadays.
“Larry Kummer, Editor says:

Young women, and really nearly all women to a certain extent are incapable of seeing their own deep seated prejudice and bigotry towards men. Trying to draw attention to these attitudes is considered abuse. Finish men are in for a world of hurt, as they will be demonized and marginalized ever further while still being expected to perform as society’s mute beasts of burden and/or grunt workers. Women frequently treat their animals better than they treat “their” men, the men they allegedly love.
@Opus
Maybe no females running (as we say here stateside) in your district (“constituency” to you), but I did look at the Labour party website, which posted names and photos (if available) and I counted no fewer than 320 of them out of 631 Labour-contested seats. Perhaps that explains in party why they got hosed.
@Oscar
You assume that these verses apply to modern Jews, which are not genetically or spiritually related to ancient Jews. The fact that they have the same name is a propaganda device and means nothing. You have a lot to read.
These verses apply to ancient Israelites, most of which ended up converting to Christianity. Read Rodney Stark statistical studies on the origin of Christianity
@white: My father is not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination but he owns his house and gets a larger social security check than his wife gets. He has not been the same since his stroke which I think was a driving factor in making him want to remarry.
@Scott: I married for the first time at age 36; my wife was 27 at the time. Like you, we have four children. In marrying a woman almost a decade younger than myself I faced a lot of opposition from people I thought were my friends. I married late largely because it took me that long to overcome my “blue pill” conditioning and start acting on true principles. I realized that marrying a woman my own age would likely produce no children, so I considered only younger women of childbearing age. Of course this made many of my church friends angry because apparently there are so many post-wall church women who they believe deserve husbands but don’t have them and I had no right to look at younger women. Honestly, the absence of support for marriage and the active hostility I have experienced and continue to experience from some quarters have been sufficiently great that I would not be willing to go through it again if I had known at the outset how hard it would be. It has been a brutal experience in so many ways but also very educational and I have four wonderful children for whom I am very grateful.
QD,
In marrying a woman almost a decade younger than myself I faced a lot of opposition from people I thought were my friends.
That is nowhere near an age gap that should be considered controversial by any stretch.
These Church misandrists are insane.
and continue to experience from some quarters
Wait, even now? Let’s say that now you are 45 and your wife is 36. How could anyone say that this gap is too much?
This film offers great insight into the nature of female evil even as it advocates it:
Info. Thanks for posting that so i dont have to watch the movie. It has been on my fb feed and i was going to watch it but there is no way i can watch anti male propaganda about this anti male system.
I see that one Boris Johnson aged fifty-five is cohabiting (without benefit of clergy – no one bats an eyelid in) at his present London address 10 Downing Street with a thirty-one year old slim blonde female (SMV 8). One Donald J.Trump aged seventy three is presently residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with benefit of clergy with a woman (SMV value 10+) aged forty-nine. These politicians say one thing and then do another. We leave it to the French to marry their Grandmother’s, the Germans to elect a Spinster, the Irish to elect a Homosexual, the Canadians to elect a male feminist with a penchant for blacking-up more times than he can remember and the Finns to elect a gaggle of witches.
@ imnobody00
Correction: you wrongly assume that I assume.
God knows who is, and who is not, a physical descendant of Abraham. Whether we know, or do not know, is irrelevant. Fortunately, the prophecies revealed in God’s word do not depend on us.
Look, this is all rather embarrassing and not a little sad but I have been sent a cutting from an 1866 newspaper which sets out the appalling story. One of my relatives a dressmaker eloped with a married man who was insolvent he abandoning his dressmaker – but no more because of the insolvency – wife (for whom my relative had worked) and child. The article asserts and on no evidence at all that the man sur-named Allen and my relative were bound for Ellis Island. I may, you see, have American relatives by the surname of Allen (the man’s surname). Pity my other relatives who presumably never again saw their daughter/sister again. The elopement seems to have been utterly on the spur of the moment. Closing that get-out-of-gaol card of Ellis Island was a good thing.
@ quiet desperation;
” Geriatric marriage is incomprehensible to me because nothing remains for the couple to build. Marriage without the possibility of building a life and a family together seems completely devoid of purpose.”
I agree, as it is devoid of any youthful romantic fantasy that drives the feeling of devoted spiritual bonding. Age, death, divorce and children having experienced all this is enough for a one time experience. It is a bitter pill to swallow since I believe that most of us are to a naturally great degree blue pill animals. To ignore the truth of your reasoning invites self destruction in a complete and final way in a mans life. Of course their are exceptions but none that I would gamble on in this modern political, legal and cold family cultural society that we live in now. I know too many men whose wives stick them in a room and leave them to their fate. A home care nurse would be a lot more productive and safer for your dad. Hope my pessimism holds some logic.
OT
“When I first started studying divorce, I kind of thought modal pattern was a middle-aged guy having a midlife crisis, getting a sports car & a trophy wife. I was wrong.”
Maybe Turd Flinging Monkey is getting through to old Brad.
Wow, is Brad Wilcox finally allowing the truth to penetrate his preconceptions? That would be good.
The bar for being a “conservative” is constantly being lowered, to the point where you not only don’t have to jump to clear it, but where stepping over it is an effortless action.
Maybe Turd Flinging Monkey is getting through to old Brad.
Unlikely. Wilcucks knows the truth, but is required to divert attention away from it due to the conditions of his sinecure. Once in a blue moon, he will write something like this just to pretend that he is fair.
I kind of thought modal pattern was a middle-aged guy having a midlife crisis, getting a sports car & a trophy wife.
Idiot. The woman is the one who gets all the money while the man is destitute, and Wilcucks knows it.
The article that he linked to is written by a woman, who at least engages with the topic of women initiated divorce, and that MAYBE, just maybe, its not all mens fault.
U.S. Naval Academy approves Satanic Temple study group: https://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/faith-and-morals/item/34347-satanic-temple-group-launched-at-naval-academy
Perhaps there have always been Satanists in the U.S. military. But in a more moral past, Satanists did not feel safe openly proclaiming it. It would have ended their careers.
“Christian” was a derogatory label that got owned by those who follow Christ. It was not meant as a complement, though it has been taken by those who follow Christ.
RPL,
I am not sure what you base your beliefs on, but mine are on what is Written. Things still remain to be fulfilled for the Jewish people. Try reading Romans some day.
I don’t get much into labels, just truth.
I make no claims about people who call themselves “Jews” today. I do read that Ezekiel saw that the valley of dry bones did not have life until a fair ways into the process. Many Jewish people in the OT did very harmful things to themselves and others, so this is nothing new.
Those who follow Christ have done many harmful things too. See how many Calvin killed, more than the Popes. Humanity has a major flaw and I don’t expect perfection until He rules and reigns on this earth.
Good points Oscar!
@ Red Pill Latecomer
That’s a far cry from the Navy that produced this hymn.

Which means that Wilcucks needs a woman to tell him what actually drives divorce. All the data in the world didn’t sway him. Despite this, nothing about his publication output will change one iota.
Note that I always said that the only way misandry will ever weaken is if the few red-pill women exclusively attack manginas and cuckservatives, or at least force them to read red-pill content. Then, the manginas/cucks will be confused about what their marching orders are, which weakens feminism, as the heavy-lifting becomes less focused.

Agreed
One thing I like to do is conduct the thought experiment of considering possible second and third order effects of these developments.
So, in this case, it would be — Brad Wilcox all of the sudden goes red-pill and throws in with Dalrock, Rollo, etc.
What if?
Well, first of all what impact does Wilcox CURRENTLY have on the state of marriage? Practically zero, so not likely that much would change.
Next, what is also likely is all the others in his camp would simply start writing “how did Brad Wilcox go so far off the reservation” articles, basically sequestering him to obscurity, among the already obscure fetish-like women’s boot licking “conservative man up” stable of one trick ponies.
So, *shrug*
Its just interesting, but ultimately probably not of much consequence.
Biology and virtually all of reality needs to be overhauled so that women over 65 can have high SMP value and call the shots.
Likewise all military culture must be reconfigured so that women may thrive in their new roles. In this particular case ‘the culture in the aviation community must change’.
I know I’m a broken record but I must give you Jet Girl.
https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2019/12/16/jet-girl-one-womans-story-fighting-isis-in-the-cockpit-of-an-fa-18-super-hornet/
The formula rarely changes. She overcomes discrimination, alienation, microaggressions, and depression; and is ultimately able to ‘become the first woman to strike ISIS’ by dropping two bombs.
Now she is ‘an advocate for women in the aviation community’. She notes that ‘women are systematically subjected to different treatment in comparison to male counterparts’, and that “‘Leadership must advocate for its women; mentoring, sponsoring, and grooming them like they would their white male counterparts…”
White male counterparts? How did that get in there?
The great thing about boilerplate is the wide utility in application.
I would hope that military leadership would advocate for having the best, most competent and ready military, and not be pursuing SJW nonsense, but this is the “current year” after all.
I suppose that if things get hairy flying missions, where an actual competent adversary who could kill you might be faced, all “Jet Girl” would have to do is get knocked up and she would be sent home.
With the discussion of Ireland and cultural extinction, I would like to propose my theory which says that “feminism” isn’t an ideology or philosophy at all, but simply the rot which appears on a society which is already dead. A society which cares about its future would not allow procreation and child-raising to become unimportant or even negative activities in people’s eyes, and once there is a focus on these vital activities, women would automatically be pressured (mostly by other women) to assume traditional roles.
All of this has been mentioned here and elsewhere in the manosphere many times, but I still think that there is some confusion as to the cause and effect. The idea that seems to be popular is that a philosophy called feminism took hold and that caused the destruction of society, but to me it is obvious that the causation was the opposite. After all, since when have women ever been influenced by abstract ideas?
OT, but maybe Dalrock would be interested in analyzing the one area in modern society where extreme masculinity of a sort is not only acceptable but is encouraged and celebrated and is in fact absolutely necessary. Of course, I refer not to the military or even sports, but to: porn.
fsy
A colleague of mine in graduate school had as his main focus paraphilia(s) and when I would help him with his numerous research projects this often meant diving into the darker sides of human sexual nature, including porn, craigslist personals, and so on.
I would also be interested in looking at why, so far, complaints about “toxic masculinity” and other bogeymen have not entered the consciousness of that industry yet.
Right now, the big push in the mainstream of both left and right streams of thought is on human trafficking as a way to get people to be “conserned” about porn. The argument is that human trafficking is where the bulk of the participants come from. Of that, I have no idea. But I do wonder, With the male appetite for sexual stimulation being what it is, and with fewer and fewer regular guys having a chance at even the most modest access to it through marriage to a nice, sweet, normal loving wife, it seems that there must be a mill churning out new, young girls willing to have sex on video somewhere.
The other push seems to be to stop violent/rapey porn which, at least 12-15 years ago when I was in graduate school existed, but it was tiny. The vast majority of it is one on one, couples stuff with no coercion or violence whatsoever.
Any time someone touches subjects like this, they run the risk of being drawn into it, or being labelled a pervert. My friend, for example is a super stand-up married guy who is truly interested in the topic as a clinical/research one. He is a prison psychologist now and works with a lot with men who are/were addicted to porn.
I would hope that military leadership would advocate for having the best, most competent and ready military, and not be pursuing SJW nonsense, but this is the “current year” after all.
Congress holds the purse strings. No accident our military reflects our politics.
The firing of General Franklin (over the Lt Col Wilkerson case) made that message loud and clear.

Why insistence on political equality inevitably leads to sex inversion:
Condemned by God by his prohibition against cross-dressing.
I presume (and can only hope) that American cinemas were not subjected to the series of movies emanating from Great Britain known as The-Confessions-of-a series wherein a hapless young blue-collar worker found himself being seduced by one female after another. These were supposed to be comedies and yet despite their implausibility they do in my view reflect the times in which they were made namely the early Nineteen Seventies. I am put in mind of this for I have in the last couple of days as a result of a queery from a friendly acquaintance of mine sent him a couple of detailed E-mails explaining my part – albeit white-collar – in similar escapades. I concluded the second of the two by observing that in those days the terms Sexual Harassment, Date Rape and FemiNazi had yet to be coined. There seemed to be – once they got started – competition between the various young (and I mean Duke of York young – that is to say seventeen and over which I have to add is entirely legal where I come from – the age of consent is in fact sixteen) women out at work to turn my working day into something far more erotic. I was the not unwilling. They were nice young women, some were married.
The past truly is a different country. #metoo

I assume you mean romance novels, aka female porn.
I’m not just talking about “50 Shades of Gray”, I’m talking about the largest selling category of books; the category that sells twice as much as the next most popular category (crime/mystery); the category that has 85% female readership: romance novels.
Virtually every romance novel contains what the typical male would call a rape. The typical romance novel has the following plot line.
1. A plain Jane female; not unattractive, but overlooked.
2. A handsome rouge, alpha male.
3. Some circumstance throws them together.
4. He finds he can’t resist her charms and must have her–so he rapes her.
5. After sex, he becomes infatuated with her and eventually falls in love with her.
6. She emerges from her plain Jane cocoon and become a powerful, confident woman (due to her landing an alpa male).
The movie “Romancing the Stone” follows this plot line, except the sex scene is not nearly as aggressive/rapey as the typical romance novel (had they been true to the romance novel format, the movie would have been X rated due to sexual violence). Still, it’s a good example of the typical romance novel format if you don’t want to take the time to read an actual romance novel (and believe me, you don’t).
This is what women read. Novels featuring “extreme masculinity” and wild, x-rated sex.
I’ve never read a romance novel, but I’ve seen some on TV because it starred this or that actress I liked.
There are several variations. I suppose there are, at most, maybe a half dozen different romance plotlines. Here’s a common one:
1. The Heroine is born on “the wrong side of the tracks.” Poor and humble.
2. She falls in love with a Rich Bad Boy. Someone born rich. She thinks he loves her. But he uses her, then dumps her. Sometimes after getting her pregnant, which leads to an abortion, or giving up the baby for adoption.
3. Sadder but wiser, she enter the workforce. As an intern or assistant in a glamour industry: cosmetics, fashion, magazine publishing, etc.
4. Through sheer smarts, spunk, talent, and moxy, she rises to the top. She becomes a CEO of her own cosmetics line, etc.
5. She again meets the Rich Bad Boy. He is now smitten with her, but she takes revenge instead, breaking and humiliating him.
6. She then meets her True Love. But unlike the spoiled Rich Bad Boy, the True Love is a self-made success, in a macho field. A humble cowboy or oil rig worker who now owns his own ranch or oil company. Or a combat photojournalist turned film director.
7. But the True Love doesn’t love her back. He’s tough, but also sensitive. His heart was wounded long ago by a rich bitch, and he thinks our successful Heroine is also a rich bitch.
8. Our Heroine schemes to win his love. Maybe she secretly buys the film studio after the boss fired the True Love director, so she can rehire him. Or she buys the competing oil company who tried to put her true love of out business. She is secret about it, so as not to hurt her True Love’s macho pride.
9. After he is rescued, the True Love discovers her scheme. At first he is angry and distrustful of her. He misunderstands her motives. She breaks down in tears. Turns out that She could have any man in the world — except the man she loves! (A common boilerplate blurb.)
10. But then he comes around. He realizes he loves her. That she is strong and wise, fiercely independent yet also fiercely loyal. They marry. The end.
@RPL,
Romance novels and romantic moves (such as Hallmark romances) are two different animals.
For one, if the sex described in the typical romance novel was put on screen, the film would get an X rating.
The Hallmark movie formula you describe above has also become a staple of their movies.
The biggest difference between the two (imho) is that any man who read a romance novel would come away with the the feeling that he had just read porn; a man watching a romance movie would not.
@RPL & @fsy,
The point I am trying to make in relation to romance novels is: the world is oblivious to women’s porn.
There is a movement to reduce visual porn, aka the type that men consume.
But, there is no movement to reduce literary porn (the type women consume) even though it has just as a deleterious effect upon them as visual porn has on men.
Off Topic: Going back to the subject of Finland, their military study proves what many of us older military men have been observing for years.

Western men are getting fat and weak. It’s not just the USA. This doesn’t have to be us. We may not be able to change the culture, but we can at least change ourselves.
Oscar said “ I doubt we’re meant to spend old age alone.”
As a 44 yr old man with no wife (married one year to a feminist shrew who hated her father) or children and not called to monasticism, my future is looking more and more bleak.
@ A Regular Guy
Sorry about that.
There’s a downside to everything. FWIW, having children in this day and age is often terrifying and anxiety inducing.
An interesting thing about romance movies is the woman often has an early romance with Rich Bad Boy — born rich and spoiled — who turns out to be the Wrong One.
He mistreats her, hurts her, dumps her. Later, she takes vengeance. He realizes how wonderful she is, but it’s too late. She now realizes how much superior she is to him. She then breaks HIS heart, crushes, humiliates, and destroys him.
THEN she meets the Right One. Another rich man, but this time self-made. A rough and rugged millionaire, rather than soft and spoiled.
So it seems that many women viewers have revenge fantasies against Bad Boys who hurt them. They like to see the Bad Boy come crawling back, whereupon the heroine mercilessly destroys him. Then finds an even better Alpha Male, to compound the Bad Boy’s humiliation.
@A regular guy.
You’re set free. Minimalize, work 7 days a week and TRAVEL. You’re living the dream, assuming you can get a life that allows travel.
Every woman i have been friends with has told me of the one who got away. No man in my life has relayed such a story and i at 35 definitely have no one who got away. Oh the timing was off, we were different people, dig a little deeper and find out he was a foot long! No no no that wasnt why i liked him!
Men are not so shallow to only fall in love with the top 5% of female attractiveness.
Every woman i have been friends with has told me of the one who got away.
The funny thing is that this guy they talk about probably doesn’t even think of himself that way. He just banged her until he got fed up and he moved onto to the next strumpet. There was never any thought of a long term relationship in his mind, so there was nothing to break off or escape from. Chances are he decided one day to ghost her with no warning. No “Hey babe, we have to talk, cuz I’m not satisfied anymore.”.
But yeah, he’s “the one who got away”.
@BillyS said: Jesus remains fully God and fully man, so He remains who he was when He walked this earth.
I made the comments I did to provoke thought about this idea: debate is pointless when all of the terms have not been carefully defined and agreed upon by all the participants. Otherwise, everyone ends up talking past each other. I did not make my comments to be argumentative.
Having said that, I’m curious about your statement. I can truely say that I have never before heard the claim that Jesus is still “fully man”. I’m curious what you mean by that. None of us are going into the afterlife “fully man”. All are going to be changed, in the twinkling of an eye, from corruptible to incorruptible. I assume that also already happened with Jesus after he was placed in the tomb, since he appeared to do things after his resurrection that others who were “fully man” (human; humankind) could not do.
By “fully man”, I meant flesh and blood, needing food and water and air. For Jesus to be sitting at the right hand of the Father, and to be “fully man” while sitting there, implies that there is oxygen in heaven, along with food and water. It implies that Jesus is still capable of getting appendicitus and the mumps. And to be vulgar, we must accept that Jesus is still capable of getting an errection. Is that what you meant by “fully man”, because that is what I meant. That is, my contention was and is that Jesus left that “fully man” stuff behind when he went back to heaven.
@BillyS said: Keep in mind that the crowd in front of the Throne in the book of Revelation was “of every tribe….” That means they maintained their tribal (ethnic) identity even after death.
I was once of my father, the devil. Then I was brought to spiritual life by God. I was regenerated. I was redeemed by the blood of the lamb, and accepted that redemption by faith. So – because I was once of my father, the devil, does that mean I still am?
My grandfather’s father was “of Ireland”. He came to America and became a citizen. It is true that he was once from Ireland – but he is now from America. He did not retain his national identity of “Irish citizen”. He may be ethnically Irish, but he is nationally a U.S.A. citizen. What was has given way to what now is. Even so, the throng in front of the throne.
That statement you quoted is not intended to tell us that we will all maintain our national and tribal identies in heaven. Rather, that quote shows that God’s redeeming power was not limited to a favorite nation or tribe. Rather, God’s redeeming power extended to every nation and tribe. How do we know this is so? Because of that throng in front of the Throne. In it are souls from every nation and tribe. Proving through showing. Physical evidence (stick your finger into the holes Thomas). Not theory.
Believe what you want RichardP. You are ignoring a lot of Scripture, but don’t let that stop your irrational hate against Jewish people.
Scott,
I remember a preacher’s radio show ragging on all men who used porn and such trafficking as horrid because it was so easy to get a real woman.
This preacher was a bit of a bad idiot early in his ministry, thus fulfilled the bad boy and preacher roles at the same time. He likely has no clue what the real environment is like. He regularly says he wants people to reach out to him, but then gripes about all the haters at the same time, effectively only wanting pats on the back.
Too many preachers have no clue what the real world is like today for most men.
A Regular Guy,
I wish I could say the future gets better, but I don’t see how. I have more than a decade on you, though a longer marriage and I raised adopted kids, but I am in a similar boat with not many prospects.
Finding solid male friends is a huge challenge today and that is even worse than the fact I can never grow old with a loving faithful wife now. That ship has sailed a long time ago.
I wish I had solutions, because I would put them into place myself!
@ Bruce
That’s true of every age. The reasons for them change, but the terror and anxiety remain. It wasn’t that long ago that nearly half of children died of disease before they turned five.
My five-year-old daughter fell out of a tree and broke her arm in three places a few weeks ago. Up until recent history, that injury would’ve left her arm crippled for life. Today, her little bones are healing perfectly. She’ll have the cast off soon, and a good story to tell, but no permanent injury.
Every generation faces fear and doubt. Nothing is new under the sun.
I guess I should have clarified my comments a bit more:
No, I’m not talking about women’s “romance porn”, although that is an interesting subject (which I think has been dealt with here before).
And I’m not talking about the viewers of porn, who don’t need any particularly high level of masculinity, to say the least.
I want to hear some thoughts about the male performers in porn, who must be capable of doing things which are perceived as very masculine, and don’t seem to incur the wrath of the PTB. (I have my own ideas, but I’m interested in what D and the guys here have to say.)
@fsy
One of the to my mind interesting things about Porn is how each country’s version of it reflects that country. I was therefore when I visited the United States and ventured (for research purposes only you understand) into what I believe is known as a grind house or more plainly a porn cinema was that American Porn at least what I observed looked exactly like its mainstream movie counterpart but instead of guns and fist fights, sex. The movies were glitzy and like all Americans the porn actors really seemed capable actors and there was a script with a beginning middle and an end – It is not really like this elsewhere except possibly in Germany where most porn is set in the eighteenth century but then they have the castles to go with it without breaking the budget – the porn Hamlet thus not only looks expensive but really follows Shakespeare’s original script. Quite amazing really. This is my roundabout way of saying that the reason porn actors may appear to be masculine is that the porn movies being aimed at men are not rape fantasies and thus the women consent. Because they consent the assumption is that the man is a desirable man and desirable men may act as men. That at least is my little theory.
fsy said: I want to hear some thoughts about the male performers in porn, who must be capable of doing things which are perceived as very masculine, and don’t seem to incur the wrath of the PTB.
Wait, what?
Your concern with visual porn isn’t the gratuitous, explicit sex, it’s that the men are acting too masculine????????? Are you also concerned men are watching too many John Wayne movies?
Does anyone even watch porn movies (hour plus with plot, characters & locations) anymore? I would guess that the internet with its 1-10 minute shorts (which are completely devoid of plot & characterization) has killed movies.
If your concern is that men in porn are too macho, then you are completely missing the mark as to the problem with porn today.
Truly evil:
I watch daily for a new Dalrock post. Usually disappointed. I recognize the man has a full life and respect him for it. Has the talking run it’s course? Are all of the issues covered exhaustively now? The comments run into the hundreds often, and usually relevant and relatable, but is it all helping? Most other manosphere sites have gone away and there are now X-hundred posts here and X-thousand responses Maybe some personal progress experiences would be helpful to think that this all has an impact and not like we are on the sidelines with a well-informed knowledge, but just watching the decline.
I went through a horrible divorce 5 years ago after multiple separations and the last 6 years of separate rooms in 23 years of marriage to a high-conflict ex who publicly, financially, emotionally destroyed me for a time. I recovered and actually rallied into a far better man, with great help particularly from this site and also Rollo and some great friends and family. In fact, if archived, some of my comments from back then here and other places can trace the changes from pathetic desperation to wholeness. Although I swore I would never marry again, I did so with a terrific girl after a long and direct series of “interviews” and discussions. I did not marry because I was lonely or wanted that life, I married because of who she is personally that lines up exactly with the ideology I have developed. I was always a good husband before, albeit beta supplicant, but devoted and present. Now I have a great marriage. My living sons are all late teens to mid 20s and I actively continue to teach them “the way things are” and how to escape and overcome the fate of the west. They are getting it and I am proud to be part of this catalyst for change, starting in my own family. It requires caution and creativity to teach difficult lessons and show them what happened to their lives in their most important formative years without attacking their mother, which would not be fair to them, but they have drawn many conclusions about her without me being ugly or vindictive, but through them seeing through the BS of these troubling times and making strong decisions for their own lives and outstanding goals for their future
So who is out there watching the decline from the cheap seats and just hanging on, and who is out there implementing policy in their own lives, and who is out there trying to effect the future, and who is out there just waiting for another Dalrock post to salve the wounds? At some point, the sharing of opinions and clever retorts without action seems weak. I would like to hear some success stories. Shout out to Scott who keeps it open and honest.
Your concern with visual porn isn’t the gratuitous, explicit sex, it’s that the men are acting too masculine?
I’m really baffled as to why such a simple question can be so totally misunderstood and taken as the exact opposite of what I meant.
Let me be even more explicit: I think masculinity is wonderful and the foundation of society, as the host and most commenters here also do. My question is very specific and that is, “How is it that the enemies of masculinity have so far failed to attack a culture (the porn “industry”) which glorifies a kind of physical masculinity which everywhere else is considered “toxic”? As I said, I can think of several answers to this question, one of which may be “wrong; they are attacking it”, but I want to hear input from others.
Hey Dalrock,
Here’s an article that’s right up your alley:
Men Are Showing Up to [a Women-Only Themed Coworking Space] and the Women Are Pissed!
https://nypost.com/2019/12/17/men-are-showing-up-to-the-wing-and-women-are-pissed/?utm_source=reddit.com
Teen Vogue is offering young ladies a list of holiday gift suggestions “for your tranny loved ones”: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/12/17/teen-vogues-top-transgender-christmas-gifts-chest-binders-scar-cream-for-post-op-sex-change/
Note that this magazine is targeting underage readers.
Teen Vogue is ringing in the Christmas season with gift recommendations for transgender loved ones that encourage surgery and other forms of body mutilation to treat the psychological condition of gender dysphoria.
The online magazine, whose past primary mission was to provide teen girls with makeup tricks and fashion notes, now fancies itself totally “woke” as it blames the Trump administration for whatever misfortune happens to individuals who claim to be uncomfortable with their biological sex.
To compensate for that, Teen Vogue recommends Christmas gifts for transgender BFFs that are sure to make them feel special and loved: ,,,
A few decades ago, the list would have read like satire on SNL or Monty Python:
@Jon Patch
“I watch daily for a new Dalrock post. Usually disappointed. I recognize the man has a full life and respect him for it. Has the talking run it’s course? Are all of the issues covered exhaustively now?”
It’s the holidays ffs. Let the man enjoy Christmas with his family.

The point I am trying to make in relation to romance novels is: the world is oblivious to women’s porn.
Are you denying the literary gravity of angsty, relationship-focused Regency period werewolf-dinosaur sodomy fanfics? You simply don’t understand great art, philistine.
“How is it that the enemies of masculinity have so far failed to attack a culture (the porn “industry”) which glorifies a kind of physical masculinity which everywhere else is considered “toxic”?
They already have. See Andrea Dworkin et al and the “sex negative” feminists of the 70’s and 80’s. You should google image search her: this is what a feminist looks like.
They were a dud, obviously. Even without the stinking fat rolls and nails-on-chalkboard catlady toxoplasma charisma, their unalloyed hatred of men and aversion to all generative heterosexuality was enough to turn nearly everyone off, at the time.
The propagandists quickly righted the ship by memory-holing them and doubling down on building an alluring sybaritic hyper-Weimar of in-your-face, full-spectrum, multimedia sexual “liberation.” That paradigm has continued to the present, accelerating with broadband and, now, broadband-in-your-pocket internet. But it is beginning to buffet and shake and shudder and is really threatening to get away from them this time.
Anyway, discounting the impressive physiques and athletic vigor involved, how is being a pharmaceutically priapic meat-dildo, dumpster-pumping some herpetic typhoid mary on command in My Naughty Shiksa Sister Does Anal 666 (Step! Step! I meant step-sister, goyshekopfs! Oy gevalt…) “masculine?”
While the participants are probably inured to it, it’s actually humiliating for everyone involved– the mook, the mary, and the thousands of pud-pulling coomer voyeurs leering at them through their little screens.
It’s humiliating for everyone, except the propagandist paying for it and disseminating it. He’s in league with the feminists, believe it or not. They are both servitors of sterility, pozzing you up with death culture contagion and neutralizing you. They are allies.
Margaret said, “I guess the theory is that women are better off serving a husband rather than having full responsibility for a mortgage. That doesn’t compute.”
Just a Regular Guy says, “I guess the theory is that men are better off taking responsibility for a wife and children than having his freedom from responsibility. That doesn’t compute.”
Your selfishness isn’t sustainable by any individual or group of people for long, not that you care. You really have nothing of value to contribute here aside from providing an example of spiritual desolation.
Jon Patch-
I do believe that in some ways, the conversation is over, or winding down fairly quickly. What left is there to talk about?
The diagnosis on this civilization, as well as its institutions (like marriage) is pretty much known by some, ignored by others, and gleefully celebrated by most.
It is highly unlikely that any of us alive will see relief from the nonsense, and the pain that comes with it.
There will not be an intense bright flash of resistance resulting in an instant reset to a more stable and rational version of national family life with all the support systems and goodness needed to sustain it. There are too many variables, disagreements and dimensions of heterogeneity even among the “red-pilled.”
Even in my small case, I tried to put together a group of five–that’s right FIVE married men with kids who could rally around each other when the going gets tough for support in this misandric order and it fell apart over sectarian issues. And to be fair–the two Orthodox guys (besides me) basically made it impossible for the two heterodox guys to tolerate their proselytizing. The groups main focus was supposed to be about supporting each other when our marriages were under the strain of societal pressures, and it became “I can’t do this with guys who aren’t Orthodox.”
When things change it will be because something rises form the ashes of a collapsed order. It will bite and scratch it’s way to the front of the line, just like it took Christianity a couple thousand years to create the western world. There is a ton of misery and bloodshed between here and then, I’m afraid.
Keep doing what you are doing with your current marriage and kids. You are sowing something for a much later date. Enjoy them. Hold them and smell the tops of their heads while they sit in your lap. Love your wife with everything you have. This site and sites like it will continue, but they are evolving into something different, clearly.
How “heterodox” were the two “heathens”? Were they RC’s, Protestant Fundamentalists, Churchians, or Mormons?
One is a member of a very conservative strain of Anglicanism (that wants to be in communion with Rome) and the other is nondenominational.
No need for the scare quotes though. Heterodox is just short hand for Christians who aren’t Orthodox. Its not meant to be insulting.
Do you think things would be different if religion was not at the forefront Scott?
There’s a couple guys locally that I support how I can; one of them has significant theological disagreements with me, and the other I don’t know if he’s more than just culturally Christian. Great guys though.
The religious part is important, but if we concentrate to heavily on religion it turns into spergout nerdout pretty fast. I’m so done with that crap. Far better to help out the folks around us, especially if we are at a point where different opinions don’t trigger us.
I don’t know but I am going to work as hard as I can to work the phrase spergout nerdout into a sentence before the end of today.
I think it’s easier to avoid theological nitpicking in person.
Scott, that sort of thing probably will not work with mixed groups. I think what would work would be Orthodox only (preferably Serbian for you) groups. Likewise, Catholics should find Latin Mass or Eastern Rite communities with like-minded men, Independent Baptists should stick to their own, etc.
Speaking of which….
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/01/retreat-christian-soldiers/603043/
I’ve been to St. Marys. It’s a nice, sleepy little town, like many others in Kansas, and very overtly Catholic. I didn’t realize at the time that they were attracting people from around the country.
Seriously, Catholic dudes, you might want to get to St. Marys.
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/01/retreat-christian-soldiers/603043/
I understand. But if I understood your remark, your fellow parishioners were giving the Anglo-Catholic and Nondenom such a hard time that they chose to spend their time elsewhere, then perhaps heterodox means more than just Christians who aren’t in communion with you.
Barak Obama says the world would be better if all nations were run by women:
“Now women, I just want you to know; you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you’re better than us (men). . . . I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything . . . living standards and outcomes.”
Bruce said, “Scott, that sort of thing probably will not work with mixed groups.”
While Bruce’s position will frequently be correct, it really is an unfortunate condemnation of the maturity level present in the group of people that all claim to be followers of Christ.
While most would likely label me as a protestant, I have great respect for some Orthodox people and traditions. I also have a great lack of respect for both many “Protestants” and many “Orthodox”.
Being exposed to other groups can help reduce incorrect/unnecessary arguments, and expose errors/limitations in the understandings of both parties.
The above assumes that both parties can be mature in their discussions, and also be willing to accept that they have no authority to force another to believe as they do.
SMV is relative. A 65yo F will have a higher SMV, and therefore be in the SMP “pole” position relative to a 78 yoM. So what?

Men Are Showing Up to [a Women-Only Themed Coworking Space] and the Women Are Pissed!
https://nypost.com/2019/12/17/men-are-showing-up-to-the-wing-and-women-are-pissed/?utm_source=reddit.com
This little article is a miniature gold mine of female entitlement, it is worth reading just for the quotes from girls who are indignant that their club has to follow the same laws as mens clubs did 30+ years ago. The very idea! Stamp foot!
“Modern Jews use the talking point, “Jesus was a Jew,” to confuse Christians.”
It’s actually worse than that. The Jews aren’t even Jews by Jewish standards. 2nd Temple Judaism was destroyed for good when the Romans razed the Temple of David to the ground circa 72 A.D. Modern Judaism is actually a wholly created and new religion based upon the Talmud (a collection of Rabbi’s opinions of the Septuagint) and religious texts preserved by the Catholic and Orthodox Churches from the 6th Century. Their worship practices has it roots not in Temple practices but in Christian traditions without the worship due Christ. This is actually confirmed by Historian Rabbis. Modern followers of Judaism literally have no historical legitimacy. My Priest will be publishing a book on this soon.
The truth is, Modern Judaism is a poor imitation of Orthodox Christianity and it’s believers are Counterfeit Orthodox Christians. Once you understand this, you realize the whole “back to our Jewish Roots” movement among Protestants is a sad cruel deception upon the laity.
@Harry Spencer to prove your point I work with a fat unattractive woman in her late 50s. She is a superstar on Tinder. Young men in their 20s and 30s contact her daily and ask if they can just cuddle. It’s bad out there.
Off topic, but for everyone here, I’ve found a MGTOW theme song:
Is Barrack Obama, aka “Frank Marshall Davis Jr.” unaware that Sweden and Germany are run mainly by women? How is that turning out for them? Especially Sweden. Canada is well on the way.
@Spike
Looks / sounds more like “3 minute vid explaining why Frame matters in marriage” than MGTOW per se. But a nice tune easy to dance to, 8 / 10 will view again, might even download the mp3.
Dalrock
Longtime lurker,
I thought this article from Canada’s CBC might be worth looking at https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/i-worked-hard-to-raise-a-feminist-daughter-1.5391203
since its a clear if unwitting illustration of many of your posts on the disservice we do to young women and men by lying about female nature especially Raising Feral Females
@A Regular Guy
Fascinating. I knew some things that you explain but I was completely unaware of some other things (such as the Talmud being based on discussions of the Septuagint).
Do you know where I can learn more? How can I get your priest’s book once it is published?
Thank you.
Is Barrack Obama, aka “Frank Marshall Davis Jr.” unaware that Sweden and Germany are run mainly by women? How is that turning out for them? Especially Sweden. Canada is well on the way.
Truth be told, only ONE female head of state ever was any good, out of the dozens that have been in office to date. That too, because she had the good fortune to be in office at the same time as Reagan, and had the good sense to have him tell her exactly what to do (to her credit, at least she was willing to just be a puppet. Too many other women have egos too big for that).
Nonetheless, cuckservatives still over-worship Thatcher. She is attributed with the less-than-original quote of “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money”. As if no man ever said anything similar before Thatcher said it in the 80s. The cuckservative craze to worship ANY woman who says anything non-leftist know no limited (see : Tradthots of today).
Imanibody00
I suspect the book will be published on http://www.ancientfaith.com in the next 9 months. The author is Father Stephen DeYoung and you can find his bible study podcasts and blog accessible there. His bible studies are simply the best I’ve attended.
Dalrock has really been phoning it in lately.
@Oscar
Luckily Trump is in power. Because there is the possibility of the Waco treatment otherwise.
I discovered a short film, Leaving to Live, made by a male feminist. It’s interesting because it’s so blatantly misandrist, yet so typical.
The film’s description: https://www.drodrigues.fr/fiction-leaving-to-live/
On December 24 in the middle of the afternoon, Alexandra, 35, makes an important decision that will change her life: leaving her marital home with her 7-year-old daughter Léa. She asks her to make a promise: to say nothing to his [sic] father.
The purpose of this film is to denounce violence against women….
Check out the photo of the male feminist filmmaker: https://www.drodrigues.fr/about-1/
@ info
St. Marys has been a magnet for traditional Catholics for 40 years, so they’ve weathered multiple presidential administrations, including the perpetrators of the Waco atrocity.
Granted, that’s partly because they’ve been flying under the radar. I’ve even been to St. Marys, and I didn’t know about the way they attract traditional Catholics from all over the USA.
Visiting St. Marys is like stepping into an alternate universe, then stepping out of that alternate universe, and back into ours. It’s a model of what (I think) a lot of Christians are looking for – an oasis of faith, family, and order in a desert of chaos. If I was Catholic, I’d move my family there.
I think Christians need to start building more of these oases. The chaos and degeneracy that are becoming increasingly common in American culture are going to leave a whole lot of people irreparably damaged in body and mind. Only their spirit will be salvageable, and only by the Grace of God. In fact, we already see that. Think about “transgender” people who mutilate their bodies chemically and/or surgically. That damage can’t be undone.
In the near future, I think these oases will serve as beacons that draw broken people back to God.
A Regular Guy – I’ll be 42 in February and am single with no kids, and I don’t see any reason for that to change. Getting married in this day and age is insane, and having kids is even moreso.
Dale,
You are significantly correct. People get far too passionate about many disagreements of faith, even minor ones at times.
Though a community of faith is very tough to build without a strong shared sense of what is right and wrong, which includes core faith elements. I would have no trouble having lunch with Scott, for example, but each of us relying on the other to have our backs would be more challenging in working it out as the different foci on the implementation of faith would arise to the surface.
I would also bet some of the things I would do/believe would irk Scott more given his background in a similar thread to mine which he actively walked away from. This is not a problem with Scott, but a reality of the human condition. We feel more comfortable around those we share core beliefs with.
That doesn’t mean we couldn’t fellowship, but we could not have tight bonds I suspect. That is the huge flaw of the “mixing pot” idea of American society. It only works in my case because my ethnic background is so stifled, but I still would be more comfortable in a “white church” than a “black one” even though I would have great love for anyone in either who was seeking God.
RG,
Yes, what the Jewish people believe today is pretty whacked. It was also in Jesus’ day. The Saduccees completely denied the spiritual (reminds me of many Christians today), as an example.
They had to redesign things when the Temple was destroyed or give in to their Messiah (at the time).
That still does not negate the promises God made to the Jewish people, including to Mary (when He clearly knew Jesus would be rejected). Those will still happen.
Note that Daniel noted that the Messiah would be cutoff exactly when He was as well. No surprises in God’s eyes.
Samantha Fish was born in 1989. But try to imagine that she was actually the love child of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Janis Joplin (I know the dates don”t fit) and that both of them had sobered up and then devoted their every waking moment to teaching their girl child everything there was to know about playing the Blues… (guitar and vocals.(
PLUS, bringing in the long passed geniuses of the form (ie, from another world …like Robert Johnson, Wilson Picket, et al ) to lend a hand to get her up to playing at the level as if having been down to the CROSSROADS – – without having to pay the price of her soul in the bargain…. like so many others.
Check her out on YouTUBE “Samantha Fish — Drinking Muddy Water 4/22/2012.
I mean, there is another side to the story of decline and decay..
BillyS, God fulfilled all promises to the Jewish people in Jesus. Now it’s up to Jews to accept or reject this fulfillment of promises. Some did, some did not. Some will in the future, some never will.
Man sues after being rejected by all-women beauty pageant: https://caldronpool.com/the-end-of-women-only-competitions-biological-man-sues-all-female-beauty-pageant-for-not-allowing-transgender-women-to-compete/
A biological man who identifies as a woman is suing an Oregon beauty pageant after being refused entry into the all-female competition.
Antia Green, 29, reportedly filed a federal lawsuit last week against the United States of America Pageants asking a judge to compel the organisation to accept his application and hand over “unspecified monetary damages,” Willamette Week reports.
“I felt as though I was being invalidated,” Green said. “I felt as though the organisation was saying I am not a woman and I’m not woman enough.”
Gee, why would they say that?
@Oscar
Agreed. What I am concerned about is when such a thing makes headlines.
Like “hey a nice traditional community” it paints a target for subverters and enemies to attack.
How many visible traditionalist organizations and communities got subverted so far?
Roman catholicism also was like that too. But look what is happening now.
A biological man who identifies as a woman is suing an Oregon beauty pageant after being refused entry into the all-female competition.
I agree that they should refuse him entry, but wouldn’t he just come in last anyway? Lots of real women also don’t win.
I agree that they should refuse him entry, but wouldn’t he just come in last anyway? Lots of real women also don’t win.
If they allowed him in, how many of the judges would be afraid to NOT allow him to win?
Without doubt, he would finish in the top 5.
BillyS:
Fair comments.
It would be nice to think that an Orthodox and a 66-books-Bible-only believer could restrict their exhortations to only what is in the Bible, and not rely on their favourite Christian author or religious leader. There is certainly a vast amount of advice/commands given in the Bible. But that assumes you know the Bible well enough to find passages on the topic being discussed.
Red Pill Latecomer:
That is a good find.

Well, they already talk and “reason” like a woman….
Man sues after being rejected by all-women beauty pageant:
Snicker. Hey, gender is just a social construct, ladies! Invading and spoiling single-sex spaces was all fun and games back when it was some women ruining men-only spaces. Yes, yes, I know, “this is different! It’s different!”

Thank you very much. I have checked this site and I have read some of the blog articles. It is really great.
Off Topic: Why Sexual Morality May be Far More Important than You Ever Thought
https://www.kirkdurston.com/blog/unwin
J.D. Unwin (a non-religious, pure rationalist) studied more than 80 cultures over 5,000 years of human history to arrive at his conclusions. Here’s what he observed.
Obviously, American culture – and Western culture as a whole – used to be a culture of strict chastity and absolute monogamy. Not anymore.
Here, Mr. Unwin got the causation backwards. A loss of belief in God leads to a loss in sexual morality, which then leads to cultural degradation.
“Total sexual freedom” describes where we are today.
Mr. Unwin counts one generation as 33 years.
So; where does that leave us? The “sexual revolution” began in the late ’60s, and really picked up steam in the ’70s. In the 2010s, we “achieved” full “sexual freedom” mode. I think that puts us one generation into the process, and then some.
So, apparently, we have another 40 – 60 years until collapse, by my count. That seems…. optimistic.
My conclusions.
1. Note how Mr. Unwin – an unbeliever – described the same slippery slope that the Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, warned us about in Romans 1. All truth is God’s truth.
2. Communities like St. Marys are looking better every day. Seriously, men, that seems to be the future. We’re going to need places from which to rebuild after the collapse.
If you can stand Tod Friel’s style, he covers this article quite well in video format in two parts.
My apologies for the wall of text.
Haven’t been active in awhile. Just stopped by to wish you all a Merry Christmas for tomorrow! May you all have a blessed day.
As things seem dark for the foreseeable future. Take time to thank God for those small things that bring you joy, your families and good people around you.
Praise our Lord Jesus for saving our souls for this world is but temporary and the world after everlasting. May our Father in heaven guide and protect us and give us hope. Amen.
Take care all!
Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!
KJV Isaiah 53
1
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
OT: DOCTOR: Burger King’s ‘Impossible Burger’ Has 18 Million Times More Estrogen Than Regular Whopper. Burger King’s Impossible Burger may cause men to grow breasts.
https://nationalfile.com/doctor-burger-kings-impossible-burger-has-18-million-times-more-estrogen-than-regular-whopper/
“The impossible whopper has 44 mg of estrogen and the whopper has 2.5 ng of estrogen,” wrote Strangle. “That means an impossible whopper has 18 million times as much estrogen as a regular whopper.”
He went on to compare the level of estrogen in the Impossible Burger to soy milk, writing that eating four of the vegetable burgers daily would result in a human male growing breasts:
Just six glasses of soy milk per day has enough estrogen to grow boobs on a male. That’s the equivalent of eating four impossible whoppers per day.
In short, the Impossible Burger is a genetically modified organism filled with calorie-dense oils that can make a man grow breasts if eaten in sufficient quantity.
The official burger of 20 year olds with receding hairlines.
The article Oscar listed is very short and well-worth the time to read.
Time lag: If there is a change in sexual constraints, either increased or decreased restraints, the full effect of that change is not realized until the third generation.
This fits very well with Dalrock’s repeated claim that, even should we return to sane/Biblical laws today, we would not immediately see changes in the behaviour/choices of all people.
Burger King’s ‘Impossible Burger’ Has 18 Million Times More Estrogen Than Regular Whopper.
…
the Impossible Burger […] can make a man grow breasts if eaten in sufficient quantity.
So if a woman wants to develop larger breasts than she currently has, would a steady diet of Impossible Burgers have a perceptible affect? Must be healthier than the mutilation/surgery that some women choose to undergo for breast enlargement.
@Dale U,
Women’s breast size has increased over the last several decades.
Some is due to obesity, but some is due to the higher prevalence of estrogen in our environment. Just as it is having an effect on men, it is affecting women as well.
BTW, girls are also entering puberty younger than they were in the past.
BillyS said, “That still does not negate the promises God made to the Jewish people, including to Mary (when He clearly knew Jesus would be rejected). Those will still happen.”
It is written that in the final days, a number (144,000) will turn see Jesus as the Christ and weep for him as a long lost son. As long as you understand there is only one way to Salvation and that is through Jesus Christ alone (even for the Jewish people) you are correct. All doctrines claiming a special salvation set for the Jewish people apart from Jesus, however, is the result of Theological innovations that were never held by the early Church.
The same goes for the error of Modern Christians confusing the modern Nation-State called “Israel” with the Israel spoken of in the New Testament. Whenever Israel is biblically referred too, it is a spiritual city representing the Children of God and for the same reason, the bible juxtaposes Babylon and Egypt to represent the Children of Satan.
Imanobody00 – I was imprecise when I overgeneralized the description of the Talmud.
In response to what was perceived as a threat Christianity posed to what was left of Judaism, writing holy texts actually became forbidden by the Rabbis in the 2nd Century. The traditions reverted back to being sung and memorized verse to prevent anyone else from outside of the Rabbinical power structure threatening their status. Rabbinical Judaism actually rejected the Septuagint and was dependent solely on Rabbinical Teachings. It was only until the 6th Century when the Rabbis lifted the ban on writing holy texts did the new temple teachings created from Christian Traditions come about.
Merry Christmas to the brothers here
I just snapped a great moment in the heart of any normal dad. My wife being tender with one of my otherwise high-intensity, risk taking, violence craving crazy sons while we all wait for grandma to finish making some hot cocoa.
Christmas Eve bliss.
Take care all.
Merry Christmas to all.
To the men here: May God bless and guide you, as you lead your family (even if yours is a family of one).
A special thank-you to Dalrock, for providing a place of community, and the work you give for your articles.
And a Merry Christmas shout out to influential commenter Oscar who may still be in some foreign land far from his family at this Yuletide.
Oscar, are you still thousands of miles away?
Anyone else that we haven’t heard about?
It’s no small thing to miss Christmas at home if you have little kids there. And for that matter no small thing for Dalrock brothers that have to “share” time with their own kids due to other circumstances.
I owe this brotherhood that Dalrock created quite a bit. I think of those men as the very gentlemen addressed in this annual classic:
“Merry Christmas to all.”
And to you, Dale!
Where did I say the Jewish people had a different way to salvation? They will have to (and will) accept their Messiah like everyone else.
To not see any connection of the modern State of Israel with the ancient one is the height of ignorance.
Read Ezekiel a bit. The bones came together dead. Life was added to them later. Israel was not perfect now nor were they in the past. Though neither is any nation outside them. All have humans and thus fall prey to human foibles.
Why judge them worse than other men? A lot of people have an agenda in that, every bit as much as people like Soros that claim a Jewish heritage.
Yeah, Judaism took a bad left turn after they killed their Messiah. Is that a surprise?
I have heard a group of Jewish people in Russia that followed the original ways (minus the Temple of course) weren’t subject to the pogroms that impacted all the other Jewish people. Shows that following the truth, or at least part of it, was better.
BTW, a comment was made about the Septuagent earlier. That became the version of the OT the Christians used, so the Jewish people rejected it. Anyone who claims otherwise is not following history well.
@ Lost Patrol
Yeah, I’m still protecting the Arabs from the Persians. And I’m totally stoked about it. Totally. Fortunately, it’s just a couple more months.
That’s the first time anyone’s ever referred to me as “influential”!
Thank God for modern technology. I’ll be opening presents with my kids on Skype tonight (for me). Also, one of the cool traditions in the U.S. military is that the officers serve Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner to the Soldiers, so I’ll be doing that this afternoon.
Merry Christmas to you, LP! And Merry Christmas to all the brothers!
Anyone suggesting St. Mary’s, Kansas as a haven is clearly not familiar with the absurdities of the traditionalist/anti-Vatican II catholic community. The town is the Pripyat of the SSPX, which is ostensibly an independent priestly society, i.e. breakaway sect, that formed around a particular bishop after people freaked out about the second Vatican council. These days, so I hear, they’re bosom bodies with the paedophile mainstream church and really just practice a few of the trappings of catholic yesteryear. So I wouldn’t go sniffing for prospective mates from that particular stretch of water.
There’s also a Society of St. Pius V, which broke off from the Society of St. Pius X in 1983. I’ve read that the SSPV is even more traditional than the SSPX.
However, the SSPV is less well known, because it’s smaller and younger: https://sspv.org/
The Daughters of Mary are affiliated with the SSPV: https://www.daughtersofmary.net/
Oh, I’m well familiar with the Oyster Bay splintering in 1983. The SSPV that was formed by the nine priests that broke from the SSPX broke further so that only three of them remained. The rest either went independent or joined another sedevacantist apostolate based in Ohio.
Just leaving this here for Dal. Seems now divorce is good for families! Makes every one happy!

Outside of my church family, and small circle of close friends, I no longer validate, nor give the time of day, to older women. The exception is with older women in my work situation. I’m polite, professional, and limit my contact time to a bare bones minimum as I have to. Older women appear to have left me alone, and I’m happy with this. I’m 61, never married, an average Joe, and not some decrepit old man. I have a 32 year old never married girlfriend, who was introduced to me by my 32 year old niece, who’s her friend. She’s Armenian/Turkish decent, and very pretty and exotic looking. She was not seeking an older gentleman, necessarily, but had her fill of the shenanigans from many of the younger men she encountered out there. I’d rather walk through a mine field, or get a root canal, then be with an older woman. Strange, I know several successful healthy men who are 55-62, and older women in that age range reject them and call them “grandpas”. When I read where these older women claim they’re “60, but look 40”, or that they are “super attractive”, or they don’t want to “change a man’s Depends, or take care of him” (let’s see, the last time I visited my late father in the drooling academy, before he passed away, most of the residents were old women), I just shake my head and consider the source. Interesting observation I’ve noticed. In my day job I’m out calling on industrial accounts, and cold calling to build up business. Although there’s an occasional snotty young woman, most of the young women are receptive, and they give my business card and brochure to the appropriate people, or at the least, give me a contact name. Older women, on the other hand, are mostly cold, indignant, rude, and condescending. I’ve also encountered more and more older women in my area (at restaurants, bars, stores, concerts, etc.) who are combative and confrontational. Usually they are with their “girls” (often including the token homosexual man), or some older man, who may enable them. I was at a bar awhile ago, that caters to millennials (safe bet to avoid older women), to have a Tito’s vodka after a long hard week (I work two jobs). Gaggles of older women orange skin (too much time in the tanning booths)’appeared at the first of the month, cackling and screaming like a coven of witches, boasting about their alimony checks, and all the jewelry and plastic surgeries that there ex-husbands had to pay for. I could smell their perfume 40 feet away. I kept my distance, kept out of sight, and silently prayed for God to keep them away from me.
@DeNihilist: A marriage in the U.S. consists of two people (sometimes they are the same sex desecrating holy matrimony) and Uncle Sam who lies there in your bed as the wife’s bully to cuckold you at anytime she decides to have the government do just that. There are always three present. Of course, this is NOT what God instituted but rather a warped radical leftist feminist corrupt implementation of what God instituted. This is what you married when you married your wife:
BillyS said, “To not see any connection of the modern State of Israel with the ancient one is the height of ignorance.”
If there is any connection with an ancient nation Modern Israel has, it’s with Babylon.
In terms of judging the Jewish people harsher than others, take it up with the Apostle Paul who called them the “enemies of mankind”. It’s not a coincidence the Jewish people’s legacy have lived up to the title. The Jews are a wicked people who love being “God’s Chosen People” more than they love the God who placed them in that role.
And before you come back with the tiresome “everyone’s a sinner” defense, it only stands to reason that the people given a special role by God to call the nations of the world to him, who upon rejecting God, be given a new role by Satan in a perverted mockery of the first.
I once heard a saying “the worst thing for an old man is an old woman”. As a never married man, age 61, outside of my church family, and a close group of friends, I don’t give older women the time of day. The exception is in my business/work environment, where I have to interact in a polite, professional, but unemotional level. I’m not some decrepit old man, but since hitting my 60s, older women have finally (thank God) left me alone. After my last brutal, be it short lived, dating experience with a so called “age appropriate” woman (a year my senior), my 32 year old niece introduced me to my girlfriend, her friend, also age 32, never married, gorgeous and of Armenian/Turkish decent (Christian). I work two jobs, and am far from wealthy, so there’s not major skin in the game when naysayers claim “it’s all about money”. My niece (a devout RCC Christian) was my best advocate for an age gap relationship. I do run into combative and confrontational older women out and about (restaurants, bars, concerts, stores, etc.), often being enabled by their gaggle of their “girls”, or by an older man. Truth be told, I’ve both read about, and encountered, younger millennial women who are going for considerably older men. Having a pretty younger girlfriend fuels the fire of Animoji’s from older women and such, but I don’t live my life for their meaningless affirmation.
@ A Regular Guy
Here’s what the Apostle Paul wrote.
1 Thessalonians 2:14 For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, 15 who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, 16 forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.
But, notice how the Apostle Paul stated that the Thessalonian Christians “suffered the same things from [their] countrymen” (their fellow Greeks) as the Jewish Christians did from theirs. If that’s true, then the Thessalonian’s countrymen are equally enemies.
According to the Apostle Paul, everyone who opposes the Gospel is “contrary to all men”, because they prevent men from being saved.
Here’s more from the Apostle Paul.
Romans 11:28 Concerning the gospel they [the Jews] are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they [the Jews again] are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
In the exact same sentence in which the Apostle Paul calls the Jews “enemies concerning the gospel”, he calls them “beloved for the sake of the fathers”. But you left that part out for some reason. You also left out the very next sentence, where the Apostle Paul states, referring to the Jews, that “the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable”.
So, you left out the parts you don’t like. Why would you do that?
Here’s what the Apostle Paul wrote about the rest of us.
Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
Also….
Colossians 1:20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
We were all born enemies of God. That’s why Jesus died to reconcile us to God. That’s equally true of Jews as it is of Gentiles.
It’s interesting how some Christians will rant about the curses God laid on the Jews for rejecting Christ, and insist the Jews still bear those curses today, yet they’ll speak out of the other side of their mouth and claim that the blessings – which the Apostle Paul said are “irrevocable” – do not apply to the Jews, even when those blessings are mentioned in the same book, the same chapter, the same verse, or even the same sentence as the curses.
Yes, the Jews are “enemies concerning the Gospel”, and yes they are “beloved for the sake of the fathers”. Both statements are true. The Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said so in the exact same sentence.
Stop leaving out the parts of the Scriptures you don’t like.

Newsflash! There is NO “Sexual Marketplace Value” for women 65 and over…..because they are old. Only YOUNG attractive women are sexually desirable and thus have ‘value’ in such a ‘marketplace’. While there may some things that old women are valued for ( their cooking, they own/have a place to live etc) it is NOT sex that they use to get men interested in them.
Exactly Oscar!

Those outside of the Jewish people have also acted quite reprehensible.

@ A regular guy
Dude what do you consider old? I just pulled a 44 year old Asian woman off OLD and first night she’s straddling me in my car and making out. I was slapping her ass and everything. Hahaha and I am almost 27. These Asian women no matter the age love white guys. I think the bigger thing is to just flat out avoid American women. They are frigid, materialistic, feminist minded, bloviating, depressed, degenerates, who are infertile and unmotherly.
I’ve met a few Arab/Turkish/Persian women and they all seem very lovely. Kudos to you on that man. Seriously, avoid American women….nothing good to come of it.
The NAJALT! crowd argue like Feminists and Libertarians: a cult-like insistence on arguing against strawmen coupled with personal attacks defending a viewpoint that requires to all disbelieve our own lying eyes.
Secular Jews are dangerous in a way that no other group of people are is because their spirit. It’s that simple.
Huh?
I guess that is what you argue when you don’t follow the Scriptures.
Secular Jews are dangerous in a way that no other group of people are is because their spirit.
That’s because Judaism is not a religion. It’s a tribal cult. Its rituals are centered on tribal unity and self-worship (i.e., worship of the tribal identity and homeland). So you remain in the tribe even if you don’t believe in God. The only required belief is rejection of Christ.
Thus, the only way out is a sincere conversion to Christianity. Break off from the tribe and join the true people of God in the true Israel (i.e., the Church).
@ A Regular Guy
Perhaps you’d like to point out exactly who specifically made straw man arguments, and provide specific quotes of those alleged straw man arguments.
Nah Oscar. He would rather malign anyone claiming the name “Jew” and also malign anyone who has a Biblical case that God has not forsaken the Jews permanently.
That is easier than reading the Word and believing it.
I understand why many are hostile to the Jewish people. The Jewish people are certainly hostile to Christians, at some level, except for those who accepted Him as their Messiah. That is why the push-back is not surprising.
Too bad so many fail to read Paul in Romans and a lot of the OT where unconditional promises were made.
Note what the angel said to Mary in this season:
Too bad Gabriel did have enough insight! He didn’t realize that the Throne of David and the House of Israel wouldn’t be there for Jesus to sit in and rule over!
@BillyS
What group was expelled from 100s of countries in the past?
What group wrote the Talmud where Jesus was boiling in shit for mocking the sages.
And plenty of other vile things?
What ethnic group made up 80% of the Bolshevik party in Russia who genocided 3-12 million Ukrainians.
And who killed the entire family of the royal family of Russia?
You are absolutely wrong when you claim I say anyone is free of sin. But they themselves are among those foremost enemies of God.
Yet they are loved because of their Fathers. And God didn’t let them get completely wiped out.

The Jew thing is my least favorite part of the new reaction
I’m super into the principles of HBD and I think we should be allowed to inquire about all the possible variables (and interactions therein) that account for differences between groups.
Are you a 6’7” Asian guy? Cool go join a basketball team or whatever. Are you a black guy who loves cold weather? That’s pretty weird but ok.
Just as long we can recognize these outliers and then go have a sandwich I don’t give a shit. Just don’t make me tell lies so people will feel good about themselves.
Jews world wide have excelled at finance, medicine, law, entertainment production.
So what?
Number two is sexbots.
@ Scott
My least favorite part of the new reaction is the assertion that men should make babies with surrogate mothers and be single fathers. Deliberately depriving a child of a mother is no better than deliberately depriving a child of a father.
But, yeah, sex bots give a whole new meaning to the term “uncanny valley”.
Jews world wide have excelled at finance, medicine, law, entertainment production.
So what?
Yes, Jews have amassed great influence. But what have they done with this influence?
Entertainment? Hollywood, Broadway, advertising, TV, and NY publishing fuel anti-Christian hate. Trashing Christianity, mocking middle class nuclear families, promoting feminism, LGBT, and anything that undermines traditional Christian values. Jews also excel in the production of pornography. Israeli James Deen claims to be the world’s top producer of gay porn.
Finance? We’ve become a nation of shady financial instruments, derivatives, stock market manipulation, etc. Wall Street insiders create vast paper “wealth” out of nothing, while America’s industries have been stripped and shipped overseas.
Law? We’ve become a culture of lawyers and lawsuits. TV shows and ads encourage people to sue to get rich. Criminal law has also suffered.
Yes, all people are guilty of vice and corruption. But it does seem that when Jews take over an industry, vice and corruption increase exponentially.
And why have Jews excelled? Superior intelligence? Only partially. Jews discriminate aggressively in their hiring. I’ve seen it in Hollywood. As I posted before, I was several times the only gentile in some film and TV work environments. Then I discovered that they thought that I too was Jewish. Was that why they hired me? Possibly.
Jews also run Ivy League admissions and, surprise, 25% of Ivy League entrants are Jewish.
White gentiles bend over backward to be fair. Many will hire a black or a Jew just to feel good about themselves, lest they feel guilty for discriminating. Jews feel no such guilt for discriminating.
If Jews excelled on a level playing field, and if they used their power to society’s benefit, I don’t think anyone would mind them being in control. But our Jewish elite hates and subverts the Christian commoners. Hence the Jews’ fear of native populism, and efforts to bring in more Third World immigrants.
Are you a 6’7” Asian guy? Cool, go join a basketball team or whatever. Are you a black guy who loves cold weather? That’s pretty weird but ok.
My husband really likes cold weather. Not enough to have left his dad behind to live somewhere warmer, but he highly prefers it. I never thought of it as weird, just a reaction to the sweltering climate in which we were both raised and continue to live in. So (and this is not snark but an honest question), are the Caucasian people who flock here from points north expressly for the mild temperatures equally weird?
I hate the cold myself, so an outlier I clearly am not. I acknowledge freely that people of African descent are “sun people”. And I’m cool with that, LOL.
Caucasian people who flock here from points north expressly for the mild temperatures equally weird?
No, but white people not liking cold weather is not a common stereotype. It would be weird if a white person moved up here to Montana and kept complaining about how they hate cold weather.
When I was in the army, every black person I knew complained about cold weather (cold being below 70) like it was totally unbearable.
There are like 9 of them in Montana.
But then again, don’t care. I am just tired of pretending like these trends don’t exist.
Every time I meet someone who does not fit the common stereotype (which are usually based on reality) I want to be able to say “wow, that’s interesting” and then have everyone move the hell on with their life without being labelled a Nazi.
info,
I go by what is written.
Ever looked at US history, such as the “Trail of Tears”? What about Genghis Khan? Pol Pot? Joseph Stalin? More Christians killed by Calvinists than those from the Roman Church?
Those only touch the surface. Man is evil at his core. Only redemption can change that, but even that is not enough to change man’s impact on this world. The Jews you note are unregenerate and reject God, so it is not shocking they do evil things. Individuals should be opposed, but not a people group.
Those who don’t let their new life in Christ rule them will do really nasty stuff.
Though the Bible still notes many unconditional promises. I choose to believe the God of the Universe, not man’s ideas.
RPL,
Those who get much have greater accountability (after this life mostly) for what they are given. Many will not like that, but it is coming.
Scott,
I am quite “white” and prefer the heat of Texas to the cold of the north. I would be unlikely to move to Montana though.
I suppose I might complain a bit if I moved their for other reasons, such as a good fellowship, but I doubt I would gripe much even then. Weather is what it is and you shouldn’t gripe too much when you picked your path. Life is always about tradeoffs.

The plastics industry gets a lot of blame for the twin endocrine malaises of early onset puberty in girls and declining testosterone in men. And many molecules used as catalysts and plasticisers do bear resemblance to the female hormone, oestrogen.
At the risk of sounding like a crazy conspiracy theorist, I would like to posit another, far more likely believable culprit to the rising levels of oestrogens in our environments:
The Female Contraceptive Pill
Consider this: The medical profession recommends young women go on The Pill as soon as possible, for any and every reason: Irregular periods? The Pill. Pain at menstruation? The Pill. Worried that she’ll start having sex early? The Pill. That means millions of women are taking hormones. The amounts they take are tiny – micrograms per kg body weight, but the numbers of women taking them are huge.
We know those hormones are excreted. This is as obvious as a pregnancy test, and The Pill mimics the pregnant state. They get excreted, go into sewerage, which then gets rudimentary treatment before general release into the world’s oceans. Are these hormones still biologically active? No one knows.
So, millions of women excreting millions of micrograms of hormones into the environment, which gets cycled back to us through the water supply – which means we drink it: You, I our sons and our daughters.
We can laugh at this, but if we think about it, it really is another terrible price to pay on top of all of the other terrible prices to pay, for women’s right to fuck who they want when they want, except within marriage.
info,
I will agree with that, though I have felt far too much of it myself, or at least it seems that way. Nowhere as bad as some, but life is not a joy now.
It just irks me to blame and entire people group for the sins of mankind, contrary to what is Written.

Every time the subject of mass public shootings in “gun free zones” comes up, Leftists always claim that armed citizens would make mass public shooting situations worse, because they’re untrained, and trigger happy. Every time I ask them for an example of an armed citizen making a mass public shooting situation worse, they can’t give me an example.
The video from White Settlement, TX shows why.
If anything, the parishioners in that church showed too much restraint. I think there are two reasons why.
1. There’s this weird phenomenon that happens when people see something that’s completely out of place. Your brain basically says “this can’t be happening”, and you freeze while your brain tries to process the unbelievable reality unfolding before you. In a survival situation, the person who accepts reality, says to himself “this is happening”, and takes action is usually the one who lives.
You can see that “brain lock” in the first parishioner – the younger man in the dark gray suit. I’ll call him “parishioner 1”. The attacker gets in his face, gets belligerent with him, and parishioner 1 does nothing. The attacker draws his shotgun, and still, parishioner 1 does nothing.
Parishioner 2 – the older man sitting behind parishioner 1, and to his right, was quicker to take action. But, he was still too slow (maybe due to age). The murderer – already having his shotgun drawn, perceived the threat, and shot parishioner 2, then parishioner 1, who was finally beginning to take action.
I say “finally”, but I don’t mean to insult the man. The whole thing took five seconds, or so. That’s not a lot of time to think.
2. The murder took place in a church. Christians are – in general – kind, gentle, tolerant people. They’ll put up with a lot of abuse hoping to “overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). That’s a good thing, but let’s also recall that Jesus said:
Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
Why “wise as serpents”? Snakes have no eyelids. They appear to be perpetually awake and alert. We need to be perpetually alert to the presence of wolves. Jesus also said:
Luke 22:36 Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.”
So, let’s be perpetually alert, arm ourselves, and be prepared to protect the flock. Because, “a shepherd must tend his flock, and at times fight off the wolves”.

Ann Althouse links to an anonymous letter by yet another 40-year-old victim of feminist fantasy.
That’s right; she is an example of The Writer. Oh, and learn to code, toots.
I wonder how much student loan debt she incurred to obtain a career that left her with no retirement savings at 40.
She can’t even afford a house at 40. That degree and student loan debt sure were a great investment!
It’s almost as though all those generations of people who instructed young women to “to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands” (Titus 2:5) knew something important.
Translation: she squandered her youth and beauty on hookups with random men, instead of using her youth and beauty to secure commitment from a good man, which is the purpose of a woman’s youth and beauty.
Yes. Yes, she is.
No, that’s not what getting older is about. Getting older is about bequeathing the wisdom of the ages, received from previous generations, to the upcoming generations. But, this woman rejected the wisdom of the ages, and consequently failed to produce a new generation. That’s why she feels meaningless, and purposeless. Her dying ovaries and desiccated womb are screaming at her that she missed her meaning and purpose in life. She should be preparing to be a grandmother, to serve as a Titus 2 woman, instructing the next generation of young women. Instead, she probably lives in an apartment with cats.
Feminism convinces women that serving a husband and children is “oppression”, and serving corporate masters (most likely male) is “liberty”. That chastity and marital fidelity is “subjugation”, and sex with random men (plus and abortion or two) is “empowering”. Here, we see a rare case of honesty from a woman who followed that life script, and the result is despondent meaninglessness, and purposelessness.
But Lori Anderson is the problem.
I meant Lori Alexander. Dammit.
I thought you meant Loni Anderson…!
@BillyS
Must be because Evangelicals keep licking Israel’s boots. And many of the criminals of their ethnic group love to use their ethnic group as the shield for their crimes.
@Oscar
Indeed. And I believe that the church security team and those who are armed need better training.
Its not enough to be armed. Training both in shooting and tactics need to be up to speed as well.
The guy that 1st drew his gun made himself too obvious and took more than 2.5 seconds to draw and shoot ending his life. His clothing denied him critical seconds and microseconds even.
There is also the lack of training and conditioning to watch for signs of aggression and agitation which this murderer was exhibiting prior to shooting. Therefore preventing prior prepration where a gun is gripped out of sight but ready to draw and shoot.
Also the Old Man appears to be well trained and shot the murderer in the head ending the confrontation.

info,
Name one country, especially in that region, that doesn’t look out for its own interests. Even the US does so all the time (even immorally many times). Why the hatred only for the Jewish people? Note that they are not synonymous with the Israeli state, even though many of the former are in the latter and it was founded on that principle. (Though it is not completely governed on that idea.)
Other than perhaps some Star of David flags and “love” for Israel, I have seen far more “lap dog” behavior in churches on other issues, including feminism far more than this area. You need to take your blinders off.
And note that many progressive leftists are knee-jerk in the pockets of corrupt Muslim regimes. Do you hate them just as much?
In an interview with the man who shot the perpetrator, he indicated that they (the church security team) had all been through “numerous” hours of training for this kind of event. Also, he clearly states that they were watching the guy from the minute he walked in and were positioning themselves in a kind of swarm around him. He was known to them as a trouble maker and showed up that day in a trench coat, wig and fake beard. The guy who fumbled with his weapon under his jacket coat definitely would have done better to crouch or something. He could have had a better rig. But he’s dead now.
He exemplified everything that is right and good about men and masculinity. He hit his feet and squared off against a threat that was putting his whole church family in danger. RIP.
BillyS: Name one country, especially in that region, that doesn’t look out for its own interests. Even the US does so all the time (even immorally many times).
The U.S. does not look out for its own interests. None of the Mideast wars or interventions were in the U.S.’s interests. Indeed, if Mideast oil is all that important, than surely it’s in the U.S. interest to take the Arab side over Israel’s. (Not that I think we should take either side in their conflicts.)
Nor does Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand look out for their interests. Much of the West is, to a greater or lesser extent, offering far more support to Israel than is in their interests. They are also opening the gates to hostile Third World migrants, despite this not being in their interests.
Which begs the question, why are these Western nations sabotaging their own interests?
And why does the Western media heap hate on the white countries of Eastern Europe which do look out for their own interests?
@ Red Pill Latecomer
A common misconception is that the Arabs and Iraelis are enemies. For the most part, they aren’t.
Arab governments use Israel as a convenient boogeyman on whom to blame everything, and keep their Jew-hating, Muslim populations distracted, but they know they have little to fear from Israel. And, it’s not as though the actually give a damn about the Palestinians.
Whom the Arabs actually fear is the Persians. In fact, Saudi Arabia negotiated a deal with the Israelis to use Saudi bases to launch air strikes on Iran, if the need arises.
We’re over here to prevent the Persians and the Arabs from going to war with each other, not to benefit Israel.
The Persians and Arabs have been enemies since the days of Cyrus the Great. Throughout most of those centuries, the Persians have gotten the better of the Arabs. They’re better soldiers, and field better armies, as a general rule.
More recently, Iran had a very high birth rate (7 kids per woman, if I remember correctly) up until the ’80s. Then, for whatever reason, their birth rate tanked. Iran’s birth rate is now at below replacement level, and they have a negative net migration, so their population is set to grow old, and then shrink, in the very near future.
There are a lot more Arabs than there are Persians, but the Arabs are divided, and the Persians united, and the Persians are better soldiers. But none of that will matter when the Persian population gets old, feeble and smaller.
Both sides fear the other will invade. I don’t know if their fears are founded, but both sides know that Persian strength has plateaued, and will soon grow weak. The Arabs want us to stick around long enough for the Persians to grow weak.
So; why are we protecting the Arabs? Oil? Sort of.
We now produce more oil than we use, so we don’t need Arab oil anymore. So then, why?
The Saudis agreed back in 1945 to use the $USD as the only currency to trade oil. Since then, everyone else has followed suit. The theory is that, if the Arabs decide to dump the $USD, that’ll tank the US economy, whether or not we produce our own oil.
I don’t know if that’s true, but it certainly helps explain a lot.
Here are the top 10 petroleum-funded sovereign wealth funds.
https://www.thebalance.com/what-is-a-petrodollar-3306358
Norway Government Pension Fund –$1.073 trillion.
U.A.E. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority–$696 billion.
Kuwait Investment Authority–$592 billion.
Saudi Arabia SAMA–$494 billion.
Qatar Investment Authority–$320 billion.
Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund–$223.9 billion.
UAE Abu Dhabi Mubadala Investment Company–$125 billion.
UAE Abu Dhabi Investment Council–$123 billion.
National Development Fund of Iran–$91 billion.
Russia National Welfare Fund–$66.3 billion
We have bases in the U.A.E., Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. That is what we’re protecting, not Israel.
Note that Kuwait is a teeny, tiny, little country (just one city, really, with 4.2 million people) with an enormous petrodollar sovereign wealth fund, terrain like a billiard table, and insufficient combat power to defend itself from any of its neighbors.
It just so happens that the biggest bases we have in the Middle East are in Kuwait. That is not a coincidence.
@ Scott
Amen. May God rest his soul.
RPL,
The US does many idiotic things, but the people pushing those THINK the purpose is to further US goals in most cases at least. Those ideas are idiotic, but that is a completely different problem.
The repulsive Kathy Griffin, 59, marries unknown boy toy, 41: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7842263/Kathy-Griffin-set-ring-New-Year-surprise-marriage-longtime-love-Randy-Bick.html
Kathy Griffin has married her partner Randy Bick in a New Year’s Eve ceremony.
The 59-year-old comedian surprised her social media followers with the news just hours earlier by announcing that she would kicking off 2020 as a married woman.
Kathy tied the knot to her 41-year-old partner just after midnight in a ceremony officiated by actress Lily Tomlin. …
Don’t know why a mentally healthy 41-year-old man would want to marry the 59-year-old Griffin. I wouldn’t even want to marry Griffin if she were in her 20s.
But it’s celebrity stories like these which convince ordinary women that they too can marry a man, 18 years younger, as they approach 60.
Oscar, you telling me the Iraq War wasn’t for Israel’s benefit?
There’s plenty of evidence that Israel lobbied heavily to remove Saddam. They had supporters in the Pentagon. They were cooking intelligence reports. They were applying political pressure.
It’s all been documented in, among other sources, the Neo-Conned books: https://www.lewrockwell.com/2005/11/thomas-woods/the-case-against-the-war/
@ Red Pill Latecomer
First, note that you ignored all the evidence I provided.
Second, I don’t know if it was, or not. I do know that it’s done the exact opposite.
The Iraq war resulted in greater Iranian influence in Iraq (which is why the Saudis opposed it), and the Syrian civil war, which placed Iranian troops on Israel’s border. If anything, it strengthened Iran’s position.
The Assads are Alawites, a separate ethno-religious Muslim nation (i.e., not Arab, or Persian, or Kurd, etc.). Like the Shia, the Alawites venerate (I would say worship) Ali, the First Imam. That’s one reason the Assads are allied with Iran.
The Alawites make up less than 20% of the Syrian population, yet they rule Syria, which is a Suni-Arab-majority country. That puts the Alawites in general, and the Assads in particular, in a very precarious position. That’s another reason they’re allied with Iran.
Assad allowed tens of thousands of Muslim terrorists (most of them Suni) to enter Iraq through Syria. A delegation of American officers warned Assad that would bite him in the ass, but he didn’t listen. After Obama pulled American troops out of Iraq, the Suni-Arab terrorists who were left in Iraq and Syria allied with Syria’s local Sunis to rebel against Assad.
Assad, naturally, reached out to Iran for help.
Israel used to have a huge buffer zone between them and Iran, made up of Syria, Turkey, and Iraq. Now there are Iranian troops defending Assad stationed right on Israel’s border. The buffer between Iran and Israel no longer exists.
Kuwait, on the other hand, enthusiastically supported the Iraq war, benefited greatly from it, and continues to do so.
@BillyS
Its antisemitic to criticize said people belong to a certain group.
@BillyS
As for leftist progressives. Sure.
The church fathers also spoke about the hebrews in a similar way. Are they making up claims as well?
I doubt its unjustified given how many countries this group was expelled from.
If one guy thinks you are an asshole it may be false. But if its pretty much everyone. Then perhaps you are a true asshole.
Oscar: First, note that you ignored all the evidence I provided.
You provided no evidence that U.S. foreign policy isn’t largely for Israel’s benefit. You merely offered evidence that some if it also benefits Arabs. I suppose you could provide evidence that some U.S. foreign policy benefits South Korea. But it has nothing to do with the decades worth of U.S. support for Israel, in both blood and treasure.
That we ignored the attack on the U.S. Liberty certainly wasn’t for Arab’s benefit.
Second, I don’t know if it was, or not. I do know that it’s done the exact opposite.
Well, sure it’s done the opposite. Pat Buchanan said it would. That’s why, shortly after the Iraq War, Israel began pressuring the U.S. to attack Iran. Back about 2007, I read one Jewish writer online who said the U.S. owed it to Israel to attack Iran, because the Iraq War had made Iran more dangerous for Israel.
At the time I thought, that’s chutzpah. The U.S. attacks Iraq (at great losses to us) because Israel wants us to. And now, because we did Israel’s bidding, we “owe” it to Israel to attack Iran.
@ Red Pill Latecomer
Because you can’t prove a negative.
No. I provided evidence that U.S. Middle East policy largely benefits Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Those are the countries hosting our bases, and they’re the countries that hold 7 of the top 10 petrodollar sovereign wealth funds.
You’re free to continue to ignore that evidence, but it remains.
@BillyS
Those who are given much. Much is demanded. So it is with today’s formerly Christian countries. Who despite the Gospel of Christ turned aside and will be held much more accountable by God on a National level.
Oscar: Because you can’t prove a negative.
Actually, you often can. If I said there is no dog in the next room, you can easily verify that by going into the next room.
But considering all the evidence that Israel dictates U.S. Mideast policy, it would indeed be hard to prove that it doesn’t.
Thanks for the perspective on the Mideast, Oscar. The mess makes a lot more sense now.
Don’t know why a mentally healthy 41-year-old man would want to marry the 59-year-old Griffin. I wouldn’t even want to marry Griffin if she were in her 20s.
A male can now social-climb up the Hollywood hierarchy, much as a woman used to be able to.
Ashton Kutcher married Demi Moore for this purpose. This enabled him to rise from C-lister to A-lister. He then dumped her. I guarantee that when Ashton Kutcher is 60, the woman he is with will be 30.
Demi Moore is much better than Kathy Griffin, of course, but Ashton Kutcher had far more choices than the schlub marrying Kathy Griffin.
It worked for a while, but he has fallen from such heights. His current gig is on a mediocre Netflix series called The Ranch, where he plays a washed up quarterback. No big budget silver screen gigs for him lately, In the long haul he’ll be remembered as Kelso from That 70’s Show.
In the long haul he’ll be remembered as Kelso from That 70’s Show.
er….. his net worth is $250M, which means he is richer than Demi Moore today He has branched into a lot of things outside of Hollywood.
Frank,
It’s interesting you should mention The Ranch. I just recently discovered the show. Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson are basically playing the exact same characters they did on That 70’s Show. It’s almost like watching Kelso and Hyde LARPing as alcoholic, redneck ranchers. Almost every character makes a series of stupid decisions and messes up their lives. And they are almost all mean and snarky to each other. It’s kind of depressing. But like most train wrecks, it’s sometimes hard not to look. Maybe it just makes you feel better about your own life choices, in an “at least I’m not as bad off as those idiots” sort of way.
One of the things I’ve been enjoying about it is watching it with “The Glasses” and identifying the cultural tropes and analyzing the relationships through a red pill lens. As you might expect, all the male characters are either buffoons or cartoonishly hypermasculine. All the women are wise and rational, and the men would be lost without them. There is lots of drinking and drunk driving, a fair amount of divorce, unmarried sex, and unplanned pregnancies. It’s almost like a bad redneck soap opera, but in a sitcom format.
I know this is kind of off topic, but thought I’d share a mini review anyway.
@ Red Pill Latecomer
Especially when you ignore all the evidence that US Middle East policy actually benefits Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. I mean, bases of that size are kind of difficult to ignore, but here we are.
@ Gunner Q
You’re welcome. Although, it’s such a tangled mess that I doubt anyone – other than God Himself – actually understands it.
Oscar: Especially when you ignore all the evidence that US Middle East policy actually benefits Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. I mean, bases of that size are kind of difficult to ignore, but here we are.
Just because the bases are in Arab countries, doesn’t mean they’re not for Israel’s benefit.
A U.S. base in Saudi Arabia can be used as a base from which to launch an attack for Israel’s benefit.
Indeed, a U.S. base in Saudi Arabia is a perfect position from which to attack … Saudi Arabia. It doesn’t just protect Saudi Arabia. It’s also a gun pointed at the head of Saudi Arabia. Overnight, it can become a base of occupation.
This is one reason Israel doesn’t want U.S. bases in Israel. Israel knows it’s not wise to let the other person hold the gun in your home, because they can always turn the gun on you.
All U.S. bases around the world, which allegedly protect the host countries, can also be used for regime change in those host countries. Or regime protection if the host countries do our bidding.
I know I lived in fear the Luftwaffe would take over the New Mexican government (until last year…whew!)
Man up and get that degree (and bury yourself in debt along theway)!

Or it could be used to protect Saudi Arabia from Iran, which is exactly what we’re doing. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE literally pay the USA to station troops in their countries. Additionally, American troops are in those countries at the request of the countries’ royalty.
Kings and Emirs may, or may not have their people’s best interests in mind, but they definitely have their own best interests in mind, not Israel’s.
I didn’t actually know we still had bases in Saudi. Thought they shut those down a few years back.
Oscar: Additionally, American troops are in those countries at the request of the countries’ royalty.
And the Soviets entered Hungary in 1956, and Czechoslovakia in 1968, and Afghanistan in 1979, at the people’s and government’s request.
What happens when the U.S. wants to enter a country, and the leader says no? Regime change.
In 2003, the U.S. removed Saddam and installed a new government in Iraq, which naturally “requested” that we stay. If they had said no, we would have installed a new government. That’s how it works.
We did not have any bases in Iraq before “regime change”. Although Military bases offer some political influence in the community (not via violence but the money it saves and brings to the population…a great deal of it) it actually opens us up to sabotage.
@ Liz
We do. And we’re building more.
@ Red Pill Latecomer
Did Hungary, Czechoslovakia, or Afghanistan hold seven of the ten biggest petrodollar sovereign wealth funds? Did any of them pay the USSR to protect them? Do you see how you’re ignoring evidence?
What happened when the Obama Administration failed to negotiate a Status of Force Agreement with Iraq? Did we force a regime change?
No. We left.
We returned because ISIS took over entire cities. Are you going to claim that the US controls ISIS, now? Or, do the Jews control ISIS?
Liz: We did not have any bases in Iraq before “regime change”.
Of course not. I never said otherwise. We installed the bases after we removed Saddam, to ensure that the government we installed would be loyal to us.
Oscar: Are you going to claim that the US controls ISIS, now? Or, do the Jews control ISIS?
No. But I do claim that Israel has been funding ISIS in its war against Syria.
Israel funded Hamas in the 1980s, to create a counterweight to the PLO, which at the time was the sole voice of the Palestinian resistance. Israel nurtured Hamas to divide the Palestinians. That Hamas has grown to be a major problem for Israel today doesn’t change historical facts.
Likewise, today Israel is funding ISIS, not because Israel wants ISIS to establish a caliphate, but to destabilize Syria. A primary goal of Israeli foreign policy has long been to destabilize the Arab world. To keep them fighting each other, rather than uniting, and building up strength, against Israel.
FWIW, Israel has also been assisting Muslim migrants enter Europe. I saw a YouTube video a while back, showing happy Israeli volunteers in Greece, helping migrants get ashore. Of course, there are lots of European leftists doing the same. But it’s interesting that Israelis feel inspired to travel to Europe to help Muslims enter Europe. If they were so concerned about migrants, they can simply welcome Syrian migrants into Israel via the Golan Heights.
That Status of Forces agreement was stuff at the end of 2011 was crazy.
I remember sitting in Kuwait waiting for my flight back CONUS for my 2 weeks R&R from Afghanistan and being stuck because of the mass exodus from Iraq. It was so abrupt, like totally unplanned. A huge CF.
Lucky bastards. They got to leave early plus they totally wrecked my vacation.
I also remember the lefts political spin was “he got the troops home in time for Christmas”
@ Red Pill Latecomer
Okay. Even if true, that doesn’t change the fact that the reasons we have bases in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE are:
1. Because those countries’ royalty asked, and pay us to
2. Because the US wants to keep the petrodollar system going
3. Because those countries hold seven of the 10 biggest petrodollar sovereign wealth funds, and
4. Because they (especially Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE) are incapable of defending themselves against their centuries-long enemies; the Persians.
Not everything is about the Jews.
And we’re building more
Interesting. And kinda disturbing.
I knew Saudi is our number one weapons customer, but I didn’t know we still had a (official) military presence there.
BillyS said, “It just irks me to blame and entire people group for the sins of mankind, contrary to what is Written.”
You know what irks me? Pontificating about arguments I never made.
You guys are NAJALT to a T.
Women are this.
Women are that.
We’re cool with this because reality confirms our convictions.
When it comes to the Jews, holy crap on a cracker. If you aren’t getting paid by the ADL, you’ve been jewed. (Pun intended)
@ A Regular Guy
I’ll make the same request I made five days ago, to which you still haven’t responded. Perhaps you’d like to point out who specifically made straw man arguments, and provide specific quotes of those alleged straw man arguments.
Spike asked if we know if synthetic estrogen from the birth control pill is still active after it is discharged from sewer systems. A number of experiments have proven that it is. Some researchers in Poland discovered that it has completely feminized a number of frogs which are genetically male.
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/04/160404090836.htm
These researchers up in Canada dosed a lake with a similar amount of estrogen as is released by sewer systems. The population of a certain kind of minnow collapsed because their gonads couldn’t develop.

I live in the Pacific NW, where salmon fisheries have been collapsing ever since about the same time that the Pill was introduced.
Strawman arguments:
BillyS – “Why judge them worse than other men? A lot of people have an agenda in that, every bit as much as people like Soros that claim a Jewish heritage.”
also
BillyS “It just irks me to blame and entire people group for the sins of mankind, contrary to what is Written.”
I spoke truthfully about their wickedness. That’s it. BillyS turned this into something else.
What is telling is this Evangelical infatuation with the Jews to the point they will allow no perceived slight on their behalf go unchallenged.
So apparently Ricky Gravais, who just a few years ago unleashed his fans with a furious hateful outrage campaign against people who hunt in Africa is now a hero of “conservatives” because he said some stuff they liked at an awards show or whatever.
It’s almost as if Ricky Gervais is an entertainment figure who says stuff to get attention, rather than the deep thinking philosopher who costarred in the last Muppet movie. Did they spell his name correctly?
Go figure.
Scott @ 8:52 am:
“So apparently Ricky Gravais, who just a few years ago unleashed his fans with a furious hateful outrage campaign against people who hunt in Africa is now a hero of “conservatives” because he said some stuff they liked at an awards show or whatever.”
Less “hero” than “free entertainment”, I’d say. Just the transcript of his speech was more fun than the last three movies I watched, combined. Only one of which was a Star Whores.
Tell me you don’t smile at “If ISIS was making a movie, you’d call your agent”.
is now a hero of “conservatives” because he said some stuff they liked at an awards show or whatever.
In no small part because cuckservatives want other people to do the fighting for them.
Similiarly, cuckservatives are giddy that JK Rowling refused to cave to transgender extremists, going so far as to proclaim JK Rowling (a hardcore feminist) as someone ‘who has figured out how to break cancel culture’.
Cuckservatives just want to be suckered by another leftist yet again. It is better than…gee…. fighting back.
I’m probably never going to be asked to host the Golden Globes so it was very entertaining to watch Gravais say what I’d love to say to them.
And don’t get me started with Tusli Gabbard. Nevermind that the she is pro-abortion. pro-homosexual, is a socialist and a pagan. because cuckservatives swoon over her because she “served” and isn’t an old, ugly battle ax.
She does all kinds of things to appeal to the cucks. I saw that there was a video of her singing religious Christmas Carols. So here we have a woman who is likely an apostate, who “converted” to a pagan religion, who was singing carols to appear “moderate”. And cucks ate it all up.
But why be surprised? From what I have read, most cuckservatives are already singing the praises of same sex marriage. As long as they have their cushy, well paid jobs and a membership at the country club, everything is fine with them. A friend of mine, who is a dissident (as in conservative) pastor in the very liberal Disciples of Christ denomination, tells me that most of his flock would rather have their son bring a boyfriend home than have him show up with a black girl.
His closet had better be skeleton free, otherwise he will be canceled and consigned to the memory hole.
I’m currently watching Upstairs, Downstairs, the 1970s British TV series. I caught a few episodes 40 years ago — the World War One episodes — and have planned to watch the series ever since. I finally got around to it, having bought the entire series on DVD.
The series is a curious mix of conservative nostalgia and liberal scolding. The milieu is a hierarchical, Christian patriarchy — most of the series is set in 1903 to 1914. The stories are liberal ripples upon that milieu.
Today I saw the episode in which Elizabeth joins the suffragettes. They throw bricks at an MP’s house, and vandalize his car, to demand the right to vote. They get arrested, sentenced to two months, and are treated horribly in prison. They go on a hunger strike and are force-fed.
Seeing this episode, the violence of the suffragettes reminded me of today’s Antifa. I think I was supposed to sympathize with the suffragettes, yet I enjoyed seeing them suffer in prison. Only two months for stoning an MP’s house? I think they got off light. And in the end, they were released after only a few days, due to a humanitarian intervention.
There have also been episodes involving the cuckolding of the patriarch, unwed mothers, abortion, and homosexuality.
Interesting, to see a series produced in the 1970s, depicting life in the 1900s. In it, I see the decline of Western civilization, though the producers think they are showcasing its progress.
ARG,
Your comments came in context after someone else despised Jewish people. You never changed the context, chiming in with that individuals.
You are good with the insults, how about the logic?
Though I don’t care. Anyone who wants to focus on how evil “Jewish people” are is free to do so.
@ Frank K
That’s fine. Watching the Leftist revolution eat its own (as it always does) is entertaining.
True. I watched the clip on youtube, and to be honest it didn’t seem as harsh as some made it out to be. It was more like he was roasting the live audience. For all we know it was a calculated stunt to get people to pay attention to boring award shows.

Eh, compared to Jame, Walter Carlos was a piker. Only one “transition”, no national policy changes…small potatoes. Or small berries. Or something.

Back on the subject of the Persians vs. Arabs: an Iranian explains the significance of killing Soleimani.
The one thing that brings Persians together is their hatred towards Arabs.
Were they all from the deep south? A lot of black people live in the snow belt, so they should be used to sub freezing temperatures. Maybe black dudes from Detroit and Chicago don’t enlist?
This makes me think of a trip my brother and I took our sons on. It was to Disneyworld in early January. I won’t pretend that it was balmy in the morning, but my son and I (from Colorado) were comfortable wearing fleece hoodies. My brother and his son, from North Carolina, wore light jackets. The Disney staff wore parkas in the morning, which made my son and I burst out laughing.
Then again, when I visited Orlando some years later in the summer, I though that the sweltering heat was unbearable. I felt like I was in the Amazon jungle.
We were at Breckinridge (CO) a couple of days ago, for skiing. The only black family we saw were wearing very light hoodies. They didn’t look or act cold, but they must’ve been freezing!
Think good cold weather gear is the ticket.
But people who aren’t around snow often probably don’t buy it.
My spouse is mostly “Islander”. He loves it here but has to wear about three more layers in clothing for winter than either I or the boys do.
Good video on Iran.

I’m embarrassed to have forgotten this, but ISIS was funded by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/hillary-clinton-wikileaks-email-isis-saudi-arabia-qatar-us-allies-funding-barack-obama-knew-all-a7362071.html
The Gulf Arab kingdoms funded ISIS to destabilize Syria for a few reasons (I think).
1. The Assads are Alawites.
2. The Alawites are allied with the Persians, so hurting the Alawites indirectly hurts the Persians.
3. The Gulf Arab kingdoms wanted to build a pipeline from the Gulf, through western Iraq, through eastern Syria, to the Mediterranean, that would serve southern Europe.
Assad refused to authorize the pipeline, because that would’ve hurt his Persian allies.
That’s also why Russia got involved. Russia was already working on the TurkStream pipeline (now complete), which runs through the Black Sea to Istanbul, and serves Southern, and Eastern Europe. The Arab pipeline (which was never built) would have competed with the Russian pipeline.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TurkStream
TurkStream is also probably the primary reason why Russia annexed Crimea.
There’s a giant twist in the story. Israel discovered two very large, very productive natural gas fields in their territorial waters, named Tamar and Leviathan. The Israelis are building their own pipeline to serve southern Europe, which will compete with TurkStream, and the Turks and Russians are pissed.
https://legalinsurrection.com/2020/01/while-you-were-focused-on-soleimani-israel-became-a-natural-gas-superpower/
Yeah, the whole “better than marry than to burn” thing is pretty funny.
Because,
1. Pretty much everyone has sex before marriage now. and
2. In quite a lof of marriage the sex either stops, drops off dramatically or becomes very mechanical/boring right after the wedding. Its so common, stand up comedians all have routines about it.
@Scott
Re: point 2: \\
The old joke about the long-term effects of wedding cake, for one?
Rollo Tomassi opined years ago that once a woman has given birth to N children, where N is the number she really wants — then sex becomes much less imperative for her. Her hindbrain is satisfied. She may still want it for various reasons, but the “biological clock” has been served.
She’s gotten what her “inner cavewoman” wants, and now she can look around at the world in a different way.
Then there’s the sorta kinda known issue of monkeybranching. A tiny bit of research showed that women got / get restless when their youngest child (or only child) becomes a bit self sufficient. Typically around the age of 3.5, 4, maybe 5 years of age. The hindbrain wants a different man to breed with for survival reasons. This manifests in constant discontent and etc. I don’t have divorce stats on “age of children at first divorce” but it would be interesting to look at. If it existed.
This stuff ties back to that document Dalrock riffed on years ago, the study of divorced women who were willing to talk about it. “I kept doing mean stuff and he kept staying around! What?” was the gist. I need to make the time to find that.
To summarize:
Women are earthy creatures like men but not the same. In Bible terms they are just as fallen and prone to sin, but their sins are not always the same as mens. A woman wants to know she’s wanted, and wants that ring to show to the mean girls from high school “See! I can too get married!” but once she’s got that ring, and gotten however many children she wants, he’s not necessary anymore. Her hindbrain wants genetic variety. The testing begins – and almost all of this is not conscious. A married man needs to know of these
bugsfeatures, because knowing what’s going on in her head is half the fight. There are ways that these ideas could be tested. But as with other issues, it’s now de-facto forbidden to actually do so. Only in the androsphere can we even ask the questions.
PS: I’ve been to a couple or three weddings where it was obvious the 20-somethings marrying weren’t getting too busy. The body language of the bride and groom during and after the ceremony told me so. They had a really good reason to leave for their honeymoon ASAP. The energy was crackling. That’s a good thing to see.
AR
I’ve had to think about those possibilities of late simply stemming from the fact of age and number of babies in our house.
Mychael had what looks to be our last when she was 45. She’s almost 47 now and there have been no more pregnancies. That baby is almost 2. No sign of anything going on.
The drive in both of us remains pretty high. It’s physical barriers associated with starting a new business, her taking a part time travel ER nursing job, building a house, ballet, piano, cello, that make it so we have to be creative. Not desire.
Somebody gets sick. Or some other thing gets in the way.
But even with all that we manage to, um, make it happen and have a blast. It’s just less often.
We’ve talked about what that’s about. And both of us have settled on something like this:
We’ve done our part. We had four, almost back, to back, to back, to back. Now let’s just enjoy each other to celebrate. We earned it.
