In Why Man and Woman Are Not Equal Glenn Stanton writes:
The New York Times’s Gail Collins told NPR unequivocally that the most important primary finding of her brilliant book America’s Women (which faithfully sits to the left behind Leslie Knope’s desk in every Parks and Recreation episode), is that the most powerful and important influence women have had on our nation’s founding, growth, and success is this: They make men behave. All their other important contributions are secondary.
I was unfamiliar with Leslie Knope or the show Parks and Recreation, but given how important she is to Stanton I knew she and the show had to be hilariously feminist. I did a bit of googling and found this fitting clip.
I am a goddess, a glorious female warrior. Queen of all that I survey. Enemies of fairness and equality, hear my womanly roar. Yeah!
Related: Solipsism as a religious experience.
Parks and Rec is a funny show, but holy crap, how long has this guy been without testicles? It really sounds like the entirety of his manhood is completely gone. The character of Ron Swanson, a caricature of manliness, but funny nonetheless, must make him wet himself as he watches. That single paragraph makes me think he answers his wife with “Yes, mistress.” every time she tells him to do something.
Ok, Bible scholars, help me out here. Did Paul ever suggest that certain men should just castrate themselves? Not that this question has anything to do with Stanton mind you, I’m just curious.
Parks and Rec is a textbook feminist show and it doesn’t get any more feminist than this. The main character (an open feminist) is the least appealing on the show whereas the most outstanding performances were delivered by all the male characters, particularly Ansari, Offerman and Pratt. But as long as a feminist parks her face in front of them and makes the show about herself, we have a well crafted fantasy of empowerment.
I am a goddess, a glorious female warrior. Queen of all that I survey. Enemies of fairness and equality, hear my womanly roar. Yeah!
So Glenn Stanton is goddess cult central.
More people need to be of Twitter sending these things to him. Or else, how will he know how heavily he is being ridiculed?
Let a thousand Herbie Marcuses bloom…
“I am a goddess, a glorious female warrior. Queen of all that I survey. Enemies of fairness and equality, hear my womanly roar. Yeah!”
I see one of these just about every time I sit in an inner city cafe. Usually middle aged, divorced and/or in a lesbian relationship, the aforesaid heroine may have an optional Beta-boyfriend in orbit. Deeply spiritual, she will be steeped in the Eastern arts embracing yoga, Buddhism and esoteric thinking. She will have been married once, but has “evolved past her husband”. She has a business, usually relying on intangibles such as Feng-Shui, posture therapy or spiritual space clearance. Her website will have a picture of HER, at the forefront, arms extended….
By all means engage her in pleasant conversat…forget it.
RUN THE HELL THE OTHER WAY.
I find most modern sitcoms to be utterly painful to watch. Oh look! Another male character is portrayed as a buffoon while the female lead is just freaking awesome! And if it’s some sort of action drama, the 120 lb female lead can take down a platoon of burly Russian soldiers with her bare hands. And if it’s serious drama, then the heavy duty feminism is trotted out, or we get told that we’re horrible bigots if we don’t sanctify sodomy or defend the right for mentally ill men to use the ladies’ restrooms and lockers.
Anyway. this is why I’m pretty much unfamiliar with shows like the one mentioned above and why I don’t hand over ~$80 a month to entertainment industrial complex in the form of a monthly cable/satellite bill.
Frank K,
For about half the price of one month of cable/satellite, I got one of these a couple of years ago. We get about 20 channels, which is plenty. It’s a pretty good alternative.
Forgot the link
and why I don’t hand over ~$80 a month to entertainment industrial complex
There is no reason anyone should pay that much.
YouTube is free (unlimited music) and ‘sphere blogs like this one are high-quality entertainment. After that, public libraries have quite a lot of movies on DVD.
After that, Netflix is $8-$12/month. If even that is not enough, you are watching too much TV anyway. Spend your time producing useful content (like a blog such as this one)..
Lynn87 – Yeah I bought one too, with the amplifier option. Works quite well. I use it mostly for watching sports.
Glenn Stanton :
“Marriage is a Feminist Institution”
The most egregiously feminist part of Parks and Rec is how attracted Adam Scott’s character (a handsome and successful auditor) is to Amy Poehler’s character (an aging, grrl power, un-feminine, pantsuit-type). We’re supposed to believe that he’s attracted to her because she’s ambitious, strong, etc (*BARF*).
Pingback: I think he has earned a puppy party. | Reaction Times
We’re supposed to believe that he’s attracted to her because she’s ambitious, strong, etc (*BARF*).
The extent to which modern women have convinced themselves that men are —must be, OR ELSE— attracted to SIWs who are nothing but fifth-rate male wannabes is truly mind-boggling. Especially hilarious are the desperate shaming attempts (“You just can’t handle a strong woman!” “You’re obviously gay!” “Needledick!”) when reality smacks them in the face through men demonstrating their innate revulsion to the “new feminine.” It’s one of the most prevalent forms of mental illness in the western world today, yet one that the mental health “profession” routinely and systematically ignores, if not outright denies the existence of.
Why would any man put up with the insanity women say and do these days is beyond me. MGTOW. The best solution is to never have the problem.
New York Times (the toilet paper of record) and NPR. That should be enough to tell you it’s left leaning psychobabble. Woman hear me “roar”. We hear you and lefties liken your roar unto a lion, when in reality we hear it an liken it as a bray from a jackass, which it is.

The story arc of Game of Thrones has been a long descent into fantasy and feminism. The show began as a mostly serious medieval drama featuring patriarchal, Machiavellian power politics. Very little fantasy or magic. Women relegated to traditional roles.
When Stannis attacked King’s Landing, Queen Cersei and all the noble young women were secreted in a basement area — with a guard. The guard was not there to protect them, but to kill them should the castle fall, so that the enemy would not capture and impregnate “our women.”
But with the last season, women rule practically everything. Dorne, High Garden, King’s Landing, the Iron Islands, and the Dragon Queen from Merine — all ruled by women. Only the North is ruled by a male, John Snow.
And then there are all those women warriors. That giant lady knight. The 120 lb warrior women of Dorne who killed the king, price, and male guards to seize the throne. And Arya, that ridiculous assassin girl. She even betrayed the Many Faced God who gave Arya her power, and Arya managed to get away with even that. Arya is so kick-ass, she’s even stronger than a god!
Perhaps not coincidentally, the fantasy and magical elements have also increased. Arya now has super powers. And the dragons and the Lord of Light — both controlled or channeled by women. And “the Mountain,” that Frankenstein monster of a knight, doing the humble bidding of Queen Cersei.
When began as a literate medieval epic has degenerated into mysticism and magic, feminism and fantasy.
@RPL:
I came across a discussion one time that explained the effect pretty well: because of the need for the suspension of disbelief in Fiction, the Fiction still has to be somehow tied to reality. To make a “strong” female character is beyond most writers, so you have normally two options. 1) Constrain the environment so much that a Woman won’t be naturally outshone by a Man or 2) expand the universe with “Magic” to allow for there to be a work-around for reality.
One either has to constrain the Setting or expand the Power for the female characters to “work” in the fiction and be watchable/readable to the audience in any sort of Adventure setting. Though in GoT’s case, it’s also important to remember that the first book is from the early 90s, and the Progressives changed their views rapidly over the next 20 years. Thus Martin changed things.
Marriage is a feminist institution, yes, as it stands now. No use in arguing against that. Flee the institution instead, let’s see if they can prop it up with strawmen.
Game of Thrones is filthy feminist porn as is Vikings and a thousand other ‘relive’ the medieval modern day shit dramas made for the feeble minded. Cuckolds, weak men, strong women, rampant sexuality, no reason, just brute violence, such irony… no violence against women and children and yet they worship a story that is based in over the top violence, only good because women are the ones who partake in it. Sick, that’s the level of depravity society finds itself in.
Don’t care one whit though, let them make the sicko fantasies, I pray and hope they become their reality.
Roar = R.O.A.R. = “Ranting Outrageously Against Reality”
My new, immediate response to any version of ‘I am woman hear me roar’.
Mangina vag-worshipping simps like Stanton are an embarrassment to all real men.

George RR Martin is a yuuuuuuge SJW cuck from waaay back.
The first season was actually pretty good as the Leslie knope character was portrayed as slightly incompetent but convinced she was a genius. All the real work was done by men by Leslie would take credit. So a standard feminist. But that was gradually changed as the series went on.
“The story arc of Game of Thrones has been a long descent into fantasy and feminism.”
For which I am glad I did not invest (waste) any of my time with that “fandom”. This is of course why I don’t bother with any new show. Even if they start out level handed, they inevitably descend into ultra blue pill feminism.
It’s the same at the cinema. I rarely go anymore. Even old franchises like Star Wars can no longer resist having the 120 lb female lead who kicks butt, while making the male lead into a bumbling, if well meaning, fool. I’m certain that in Episode 8 Rey will be schooling Luke in the proper use of the Force, and he will just simply be in awe of her.
@Spike
Female Spirituality is in inverse relationship with Female Fertility.
“The first season was actually pretty good as the Leslie knope character was portrayed as slightly incompetent but convinced she was a genius. All the real work was done by men by Leslie would take credit. So a standard feminist. But that was gradually changed as the series went on.”
This seems to be the standard trope this days. Start off with the men as strong, if however flawed characters who eventually devolve into fools while the women suddenly become awesome.
Witness The Big Bang Theory (which I stopped watching a few seasons ago). Penny went from being a loser who couldn’t afford to pay the utility bill because she spent the money on shoes to becoming a highly paid big pharma rep who now out earns her geeky PhD boyfriend. Heck, all of the other female leads out earn and are smarter and more stable that their boyfriends and husbands.
“They make men behave.”
The equation is commutative.
the most powerful and important influence women have had on our nation’s founding, growth, and success is this: They make men behave.
Case in Point: all the extremely well-behaved ghetto male yoots raised by single mothers.
“Game of Thrones is filthy feminist porn as is Vikings and a thousand other ‘relive’ the medieval modern day shit dramas made for the feeble minded.”
And not just on the screen. Google Souad Faress to see what one of its stars does if you make the mistake of getting too close.

It is easier to believe in brain-eating space aliens than female combat computer hackers because space aliens might possibly exist. We know for a fact such women don’t.
I call it “barking cat syndrome”. When a character talks and acts masculine but the writer gives it the female gender, he’s making the same mistake as describing a cat that barks and plays fetch. Just call it a dog already, yeah?
top kek!
I used to think Parks and Rec was written by cryptic traditionalists because Leslie was always hilariously inept. Leslie was superficially strong but obviously weak. Meanwhile Ron was the opposite. He was lazy and had a bad attitude about his job but he always said the ugly truths at the wrong times to keep the laughs coming, and Leslie had to lean on him when the pressure was on. Then Ron declared himself irrelevant in the Boy Scout Girl Scout episode. Now it’s all about how prolific and thorough Leslie is with her job, she’s successfully navigating life and love with Ben, etc.
I haven’t watched as much Big Bang Theory, but my thoughts about it are similar. Sheldon used to say all the ugly truths at the wrong times, now it’s supposed to be funny because Penny and the normies have been right all along, and the nerds are finally learning.
@Gunner Q:
Yup. Aliens? Could be. “Kick Ass Combat” Women? Too far. That’s the reason for all of the magic these days.
The Japanese have taken, I think, a smarter direction. They’ve just re-imagined all pre-Meiji Restoration historical figures as smoking hot Women. Or it’s revenge for Japanese history classes. Not sure which, but it’s generally fairly hilarious.
I agree 100%. I can’t go to movies anymore and can barely find anything on TV/Netflix that isn’t trying to ram a feminist, leftist agenda in my face. If people really gave a shit about this stuff, they’d be all over it.
Look at Ghostbusters. Classic American comedy ruined by “muh feminism.” Star Wars is ruined too. The cucks still go see it but cinema is dead in the US. At least mainstream cinema. There are some good independent films but they too often turn out to be liberal propaganda as well.
Ah, Frank K, I see you beat me to the punch. Well said.
“I agree 100%. I can’t go to movies anymore and can barely find anything on TV/Netflix that isn’t trying to ram a feminist, leftist agenda in my face.”
Netflix’s saving grace is that they also have older programming as well as documentaries. There are also “B grade” networks like ME and Antenna TV which broadcast old reruns of sitcoms and dramas from the distant past.
But it was an easy decision to cut the satellite TV. I never missed it and have an extra $80 a month in my wallet.
I don’t know, “women that are women but actually have honor” seems to be a popular fiction idea among men going back to the classics: Goddesses of the Hunt, Valkyries, etc… Maybe its the fantasy that the burden of performance could be dropped if women loved like men do and could stay loyal if given power.
I decided to waste a few minutes reading Stanton’s predictably shitty article. This is probably the most important part:
The British investors of Jamestown—who sent only men to establish the work, so that they could not be distracted—were not seeing the expected return on their investment. They sent an agent to investigate, and it was found that the men weren’t working. According to the report of one Sir Thomas Dale, the men were at “their daily and usuall works, bowling in the streetes.” This habit kept the settlement, Collins explains, “a long, rowdy fraternity party, minus food.” The investors’ solution? They began enticing marriageable young women to set out for the colonies with offers of free passage and appealing hope chests. They supposed that wives might turn these “we’ll work tomorrow” fraternity boys into diligent, hard-working, productive men. And they did.
They key word here, of course, is “marriageable”. It was the marriageability of the women that did the trick, if we accept his narrative. Surely Stanton would be very reluctant to discuss how and why did all those women become marriageable in the first place.
Frank K: I’m certain that in Episode 8 Rey will be schooling Luke in the proper use of the Force, and he will just simply be in awe of her.
Game of Thrones now features a kick-ass Amazonian knight, Lady Briania, and her bumbling male squire, Poderick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6nzfbhj4R0

For those with Netflix streaming, check out “The Tudors”. All thirty-some episodes, each an hour-long. It was originally a production of Showtime, so the production values, sets, and costumes are first rate. Some of the exterior shots you can tell are CGI – a minor annoyance.
My wife and I sat through it, mesmerized. And then we watched it again, from start to finish a year later with my mom. I know the history of that time period pretty well, so I would stop and explain to my wife how what they were showing really happened, or how much poetic license they were taking. She loved it for the soap opera aspect, the beautiful dresses, and the elegant way they spoke in those days.
Really enjoyable, and as an added treat, the great (and now sadly, late) Peter O’Toole plays the pope! The series does a great job showing the martyrdom of Sir Thomas More and Bishop Fisher. Also very red pill, showing how King Henry’s “woman problems” led to so much strife and bloodshed. And clearly shows how manipulative and power-hungry (dare I say “hypergamous”) women like Anne Boleyn can be.
So check it out and enjoy some TV that’s not crap for a change. Just one small warning – since it was originally shown on Showtime, they “sexed it up” with some nudity and sex. Some is necessary to the story (like the affairs of Catherine Howard) and some seems gratuitous. I wish they would have toned that down, but this is the direction they chose to go in. So I wouldn’t watch it with any kids under the age of 16 or so. Still, didn’t ruin it for my wife and me, we still thought it was great.
Enjoy.
@Hollenhund, a quick search on history.com provides some context for those food-less frat parties:
“By the summer of 1607, Newport went back to England with two ships and 40 crewmembers to give a report to the king and to gather more supplies and colonists. The settlers left behind suffered greatly from hunger and illness, as well as the constant threat of attack by members of local Algonquian tribes, most of which were organized into a kind of empire under Chief Powhatan…
“After Smith returned to England in late 1609, the inhabitants of Jamestown suffered through a long, harsh winter, during which more than 100 of them died. In the spring of 1610, just as the remaining colonists were set to abandon Jamestown, two ships arrived bearing at least 150 new settlers, a cache of supplies and the new English governor of the colony, Lord De La Warr.
Wow, it’s like watching women join the military. Chicks be all “why do only the boys get to have fun in the New World?” Then chicks be all “Indian Massacre of 1622”.

It is fun to troll the twats by pointing out that the VietNam War memorial in DC has almost no females named there. Only men get this honor. Point this out to a twat and see them get mad.
They are utterly unaware that one only got their name on that wall if they DIED, usually quite brutally… See the femtwats claim that the is exclusion of female names on the memorial is oppressive to women…
I only watch regular TV when forced to, but I already know every show is some manner of SJW agitprop. What always gets me (not sure why), is how much more strongly all the ads are selling the narratives. Anyone without real world knowledge would gather from these ads that the US is 85% non-white suburbanites and women have all the important jobs.
@Anon:
It strikes me there is a good market for a book called “Jesus and the Art of Trolling the Self-Appointed Intelligentsia”.
“I am a goddess, a glorious female warrior. Queen of all that I survey.”
This reminds me of a Dr Suess book I used to read to my kid. The line that keeps getting repeated in the book is, “I am Yertle the Turtle, Oh Marvelous Me……..For I am the ruler of all that I see.” Yertle kept making all of the other turtles stack on each other back to make him higher and higher……and in his mind, he ruled over everything he could see. Spoiler alert………It didn’t end too well for poor Yertle. King of the mud..
“They make men behave. All their other important contributions are secondary”
Women can cause men WANT to behave. That is their key. But saying that women MAKE men behave is a lot like the Soviets MAKING their citizen produce. Women can only MAKE men behave through fear…….which as Dalrock has posted on in the past, is only effective in the short term. Find one of these men that are being MADE to behave, and I will show you a man that is riding the line of what “behave” means.
When they are helpful and submissive, they can cause Men to WANT to behave…………..This is what the bible teaches and the world tears down.
And I suppose birthing babies is secondary to “making men behave?” Woe to the future of our species.
I only watch regular TV when forced to, but I already know every show is some manner of SJW agitprop. What always gets me (not sure why), is how much more strongly all the ads are selling the narratives.
Sometimes, a YouTube video of a TV show from the 70s or 80s includes commercials, which is often a fun plus. Seeing what the TV ads were in 1978 gives an additional dimension of what the media was pushing (which was certainly far less sordid than today)..
Hell, on ‘Family Ties’, the Keaton parents were hardcore Berkeley hippies who nonetheless still managed to be a married family with 4 kids, who worked in honest jobs, and always stood for honesty, personal integrity, moral courage, and respect for Republicans despite disagreement. What staunch lefty is that way today?

Lefties of the past drew on western patriarchal tradition the seedcorn of which they are eating until their descendanta no longer hold on that.
Headline to this news story — Largest all-female expedition braves Antarctica to fight inequality, climate change: http://in.reuters.com/article/us-antarctic-women-climatechange-idINKBN13P0OL
Excerpts:
The largest all-female expedition to Antarctica, comprising 76 scientists, is due to set sail from Argentina on Friday in a quest to promote women in science and highlight the impact of climate change on the planet.
The international team will brave sub-zero temperatures to undergo a 20-day bootcamp on the frozen continent aimed at developing their leadership skills and challenging male dominance of senior scientific roles.
Women make up only 28 percent of the world’s researchers and are particularly under-represented at senior levels, the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says.
Yet greater female leadership is needed to fight climate change, which disproportionately affects women, according to Fabian Dattner, co-founder of the Antarctica initiative, Homeward Bound.
@RPL:
Anyone want to put odds on deaths on the expeditions? 🙂
Anyone want to put odds on deaths on the expeditions?
My guess is they’re cheating. The scientists will be all female, but there’ll also be many burly men in background roles — running the electric generators, maintaining the plumbing and heating and computers and communications gear, keeping the buildings in good repair, carrying the cargo of food and medicine, etc.
At the end of the 20 days, the men will praise the lady scientists for doing it all on their own — doing it even better than all the male scientists that came before them.
Yet greater female leadership is needed to fight climate change, which disproportionately affects women,
How do these brave women soldier on, given that everything including the earth itself is arrayed against them? Give me an S! Give me an I! Give me a W!
Oh, wait. This:
The scientists will be all female, but there’ll also be many burly men in background roles — running the electric generators, maintaining the plumbing and heating and computers and communications gear, keeping the buildings in good repair, carrying the cargo of food and medicine, etc.
Anyone want to put odds on deaths on the expeditions?
If I’ve learned anything here – this will be men’s fault.
You beat me to it, RPL. Just like with chicks in boardrooms, uniforms, and universities, the only way to get parity (much less superiority) is to stack the deck in their favor based on the labors of men. Those women are sailing to Antarctica on a ship that was designed and built by men, and that is crewed by men. They will stay at a facility that was built by men and is kept habitable for them by men. Even when they do their “scientific” work, they will use procedures that were developed by men to operate equipment that was designed and built by men. As for the idea that we need “female leadership” to fight “climate change” because it “disproportionately affects women” somehow… it was men who developed and figured out how to mass-produce feminine hygiene products, and unlike “climate change,” that affects women exclusively.
But, yeah… by all means let’s pretend that this is an all-female endeavor. (/s)
It’s all pretend. Feminism always has been. That article reads like a super women fantasy, with the usual baddies being the men with beards saying the women cants do that. It’s another shit on men, same old, same old. Hey, listen broads, if women can do everything a man can but better and smarter, just what use are men to this world? Think long and hard before answering cause I know you all want to answer none. Do that at your own peril, it’s not a threat, but observable reality. Keep telling men they don’t matter and eventually they will believe you.. and then truly, I won’t be the only one entire indifferent to your plight. Oh, and don’t ask why men are not doing their part after all, you can do it better than them so have at it.
My guess is they’re cheating. The scientists will be all female, but there’ll also be many burly men in background roles — running the electric generators, maintaining the plumbing and heating and computers and communications gear, keeping the buildings in good repair, carrying the cargo of food and medicine, etc.
A bunch of you guys stole my thunder, but yeah … this will all be as carefully scripted and choreographed as a Bolshoi Ballet performance. No snowflake will be allowed to risk even so much as a broken manicured fingernail, let alone be put in death’s way.

Not one iota of thought about WHY women don’t do scientific research, and never will.
Myth #1 : Climate change
Myth #2 : This ‘climate change’ disproportionately affects women (as does everything)
Myth #3 : Women being very few scientists is a problem, rather than a natural order
No snowflake will be allowed to risk even so much as a broken manicured fingernail, let alone be put in death’s way.
Good pun.
True as well…
Looking Glass,
Anyone want to put odds on deaths on the expeditions?🙂
Come on, you should know better than that.
All these ultra-expensive female potemkin productions are only possible through layers upon layers of male labor. Who built the ship? Who mans the ship? Who is responsible for emergency situations? Security? Who paid the taxes to fund this self-aggrandizing idiocy? Tons of men in the background are making this happen.
@Anon:
I’m quite aware of the likely reality that a bunch of Men are actually running the show. But the area they’re going still comes with non-trivial risk of death if your quite dim-witted.
Thus, anyone want to put odds on it. 🙂
The female population of Antarctica is so low or perhaps non-existent, I deduce therefore that the main purpose of women scientists traveling en masse to that continent is to ensure that there is at least one group of men who will for the duration find them hot: Female Travel is always synonymous with romantic intentions. Whether there really is such a phenomena as man-made global-warming is something about which I remain open-minded; it’s perishing cold here and fell to 27 degrees last night. Vaughan Williams wrote an Antarctic Symphony (No.7) and Maxwell Davies who actually spent six weeks out there for the purpose of inspiration did likewise (No.8). Neither of these people were female and so what is needed is that a ship-load of female composers visit Antarctica to show that they too are capable of writing Antarctic music of the symphonic variety. I have some names in mind – perhaps they will stay there permanently.
I used to play soccer on land immediately ajacent to the childhood home of Anne Boleyn; Thomas Moore was a member of my Inn (of court); some of my ancestors (that I can trace) lived in Tudor London – Marylebone High Street and just off it to be precise (where I was at Conservatoire); the past here is always close-at-hand.

Yeah, most first-generation Communists are horrified at the behavior of subsequent generations, not realizing that they themselves are virtuous only out of lifelong habit. Their swan song, “we didn’t try hard enough”, refers to raising their kids with both Christian morality and hatred for Christ. A difficult needle to thread.

Have you seen what those rare female scientists look like? The adjective “hot” is about as 180 degrees out a description imaginable from appropriate for these women. It would take a decade worth of long Antarctic winters in isolation to look upon one of these women and consider her to be anything even close to “hot.” The sight of a flock of penguins would induce a hard-on in me more quickly than would the sight of one of these female “scientists.”
Female Travel is always synonymous with romantic intentions.
Like the successful female traveler who wrote the book, “Heat, Pray, Freeze” ?
Another tell…… the iconic image of ‘global warming’ is the polar bear, which a lot of airhead women think is cuddly. In reality, it would consume any human it came across.
I bet these dimbos don’t even know that to see polar bears, they are going to the wrong pole. These are the ‘scientists’… Traveling a much greater distance to the wrong pole…

conquer – Lost Patrol – anyway Flat Earthers deny that Antarctica is a continent at all. Again, I am open-minded as to Flat or Ball earth. Anyway, I thought Fabian (as in Fabian Forte) was a male name, yes women are conquering something in their striving for equality: male names; Hilary, Kim, Carol, Lindsay and now Fabian. Some names are more equal than others.
Nice work if you can get it.
Conquer. Dang. I bet an Antarctic Woman Scientist would never have overlooked that before hitting ‘Post Comment’.
They now call it “climate change” instead of global warming. No wonder less than 10% of people trust the corporate media. They lied about Hitlary leading in the polls, vewy vewy quiet about the jihadist from Somalia that attacked people with a knife in Ohio. The Antarctica has been growing in ice mass since satellite records from the late 70s. Of course we know money and global governance has nothing to do with it. ;).

Goes to show the quality of a religions and ideology is measured by their long term impact on the populations it affects. Whether it leads to ever greater excellence to greater truth, goodness and beauty or the gutter.
Every ideology that manages to be successful in the 1st place is because it was carried forth by excellent men. But what it does over time is a different story.
@Opus
That issue would be solved most simply by going to space and looking down at earth.
@infowarrior
Indeed, but that has yet to happen (so far as I can tell).
I thought Fabian (as in Fabian Forte) was a male name, yes women are conquering something in their striving for equality: male names; Hilary, Kim, Carol, Lindsay and now Fabian. Some names are more equal than others.
I’ve been ranting about this for a long time (unisex names, specifically male names co-opted by women). My solution: whenever a woman with such a name is introduced to me (or someone introduces her to me), I ask for her middle name in hopes of it being something feminine, as I refuse to address a woman by a man’s name.
Fem on Fem :
UCLA event examines ties between feminism and white supremacy.
At least more people are seeing that the two things are almost the same (whatever race is involved in a race-centric ideology).

Not surprising that a mentally ill individual who is completely confused about his gender and his sexuality would see monogamy as a “spectrum”. This statement: ” millennials don’t view monogamy as all or nothing” says a lot about how confused he is. I guess he has trouble with the prefix “mono” and to quote Inigo Montoya, that word doesn’t mean what he thinks it means. Also, the fact that he projects his views on all millennials is another red flag.
Of course, this tripe gets published in the Washington Post. And the left wonders why they lost the election.
Being honest is a spectrum….
The End of the High Church
http://thezman.com/wordpress/?p=9103
If you are a normal person, the mainline Protestant churches have nothing to offer but endless lectures about the joys of liberalism. It’s a familiar pattern. First the women take over, then the men leave, except for the guys willing to take orders from the gals. Then the normal women bolt. This boiling off of the sensible eventually leaves the crazies in charge of the organization. Before long the freak flag is hoisted and it is the bar in Star Wars. It’s the pattern we saw with Labour in Britain and the Democrats in the US.
The “Mental/Emotional Affair” link to CAF that MarcusD posted is very apropos to the topic of this thread… and it was tough to read. Once again we have a married woman complaining about her husband, and the usual CAF suspects are there with the same tripe and non-solutions they always have at the ready. Chevalier and Easter Joy tried to inject a bit of sanity and balance, but the others kept shooting it down and they backtracked some. Xanthippe in particular
Just. Would. Not. Let. Go.
of her insistence that the husband is 100% at fault (same as the OP – who flatly denied ANY fault on her part during the 22 years they’ve been married), and poses an immediate physical danger to her and the children. Even after OP corrected her and said that there was absolutely no violence in the marriage, Xanthippe still kept stating that she ought to fell “unsafe,” and should have witnesses present so he didn’t become violent. Projection, much? Yeah… I thought so.
It’s all about how a wife’s job is to civilize her husband, by threats and withholding sex if needed.
/Sigh.
And when OP went to talk to her priest, that heretic told her that she has no obligation to have sex with her husband… as if the best way to ensure a man’s fidelity is for his wife to deny him sex (only a celibate would think something so wrong, and only a woman looking for the exit would rationalize it enough to believe it). But lemme’ get this straight… the wife thinks her husband is too friendly with a female colleague, so to resolve the issue she sneaks off in private with another man – her priest – to complain about him in private. When she does so, that man gives her counsel that not only virtually guarantees that the marriage will end in divorce, but also violates both scripture and Cannon Law.
And it juuuust so happens that the advice he gives her will almost certainly make her available. No doubt she’ll need a good deal more private “counseling” in the future. How very convenient… for him. (And people wonder why the Bible restricts ecclesiastical office to married men in 1 Timothy and Titus.)
I think if anyone has a right to complain it’s the hard-working husband, since his wife is sneaking around and meeting another man behind his back who listens to her complaints about him and feeds her desire to be rid of him. That’s wrong on so many levels it could take up its own thread.
And yet they say that a husband needs the guidance of his wife to keep from misbehaving, followed by withholding sex if he doesn’t meet her standards, then followed by divorce and the loss of his family and finances if he still doesn’t acknowledge her right to rule.

I’m forced to conclude that the RCC at least tacitly condones the heretical trash spewed forth on CAF. Otherwise there would have either been an honest effort made by the church to shut it down, or at a minimum a very public condemnation of it by the church hierarchy. If moves have been made in either direction that I don’t know about, I’d love to be enlightened. Otherwise, you’ll never convince me that the RCC is ignorant of the site and its contents.

I’ll never understand why women murder their children before committing suicide, other than as a Eff You to their husbands.
Frank K- haven’t you heard women say they would rather have an abortion than give their children up for adoption? I have.
I was talking about murder suicides, but your point is well taken. Tens of millions of women have chosen to murder their children in utero, and that is a very sobering thought.
To clarify, women abort their children because they will be “inconvenient”. If you kill yourself, well, those kids won’t be inconvenient will they? But I guess a lot of women have no trouble murdering their children, it’s just that most will hire a doctor to do the deed, and delude themselves into believing that their children are just “tissue”
And of course, we allow abortion because it’s “pragmatic”.
I’ll never understand why women murder their children before committing suicide, other than as a Eff You to their husbands.
That and solipsistic narcissism. They can’t imagine that their children could continue to survive in a world without their essential nurturing presence (even if they were neglectful trollops with all the parenting skills of a concrete slab).

re. your desire to see Catholic Answers forum censured. The satanic answers forum is located in the San Diego archdiocese. Read Ross Douthat’s column http://douthat.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/12/01/the-end-of-catholic-marriage/?_r=0. San Diego has adopted an almost anything goes approach to divorce and remarriage. Don’t expect censure of CAF.
This type of rejection of sound doctrine leaves an opening for devout and holy seeming organizations and individuals to pose as the champion of Christian orthodoxy. The rejection of sound teaching led my family and I into the clutches of the Legionaires of Christ and Regnum Christi, which has destroyed my marriage, and helped drive most of my children out of the church. Are you going soft in your old age, or have you just not read much of CAF or other, similar fora?
There’s always a little clique of women who just have to post on every thread, and who tend to be aging feminists. Xanthippe and BEL at CAF are two examples, if I remember right they post elsewhere -Empath might know.
Those fora tend to be poorly administrated, and therefore are often on the edge of being echo chambers for the female regulars. It’s all “men bad women good” all the time. The original poster has issues, Easter Joy offered the most constructive advice, but of course Xanthippe has to put her big, flat, feet into the middle of such a discussion, most likely projecting her own issues onto others.
Gottman wouldn’t be my go-to as a rule, but a weekend with moderators learning how to deal with emotional flooding and better communication is probably the best that can be hoped for regarding that couple.
I was impressed by the person who pointed out that deliberately withholding sex to punish is a very serious offense. Didn’t expect to see that at CAF or any other forum. For sure Stanton would never ever think that way.

I’ll definitely read that in depth. (Scarier than the article’s title and content is the fact that I’ve become proficient enough in Spanish to not need Google Translate. Speaking of which, NEVER trust that program to deliver a solid tramslation, in any language. It’s hopeless at idioms, among other things. Any time I use it I wind up making a ton of corrections to the translation rendered.)

About six months later, I got a surprise in my mailbox: a promotional pamphlet, begging donations, with a prayer card. In hindsight, I think this was the only response I got.
Xanthippe, Frenzy Jen, and the rest of those kooks should be ashamed of themselves. The Cunt Xanthippe is one of my favorite cases on the internet, by the way. She’s spent years encouraging struggling families to divorce and abort their babies, all while maintaining a pious façade, couching her lousy advice alternately in the appearance of tough love or saccharine.. I have to admire her for her ability to troll and lie so skillfully. It’s really quite something, and wise men would do well to study her history, tactics and strategies.

Well, I guess there’s our answer as to how concerned that Archdiocese is about heresy and blasphemy taking place in the church’s name. No wonder the henhouse acts with such impunity.

Yes I remember seeing much of the same when I was last Catholic, 16+ years ago. The “refugee problem” in Catholicism (faithful Catholics fleeing less than faithful parishes) has many facets and many of them are dead-ends or unhealthy in themselves, ending up as small cul-de-sacs which are dominated by 1-2 strong personas who may have an agenda that is not exactly the best, so to speak. All of these were subsidiary reasons (not the main reason, but subsidiary data) which led me to be received by the Orthodox Church way back then. It’s flawed as well here, no question, but I can live in an average Orthodox parish with its various warts and flaws and still thrive, without feeling the need to burrow into a cul-de-sac to avoid blatant heterodoxy in parish life.
Anon Reader,
Yeah… I should know better than to let it get to me. I’m no longer surprised by stuff like that, although I’m occasionally incredulous at the sheer level of stupidity some people are willing to embrace in public fora… but I’ll admit that I still find it disappointing.

Great post Scott.
I am not sure if this exactly fits the theme of this post but when I read Isaiah 3:12 as part of my readings on Friday from the Book of Common Prayer daily office I wonder what you would make of God’s complaint against the Israelists for letting women lead them.
The Muslim invasion of Europe began affecting European elites sooner than I expected.
“… 19 year old medical student and migrant home volunteer Maria Ladenburger was discovered in a river in the town of Freiburg on the 16th of October. An investigation determined the daughter of a senior European Commission lawyer had been raped, and then drowned… the arrested man has not been named, it has been revealed he is a recent arrival to the country, having come to Germany from Afghanistan as an asylum seeker in 2015. Police said the man had a previous criminal record, having been investigated for ‘illegal entry’, and until his arrest had been living with a local German family who had taken him in… the father of the dead girl, a senior EU official. A lawyer for the notoriously pro-mass migration European Commission… ” ~ Breitbart
