Despite the already-high tax rates, our National Debt (i.e. cumulative federal spending in excess of taxes) has risen from $10T to $21T in just the last decade.
In other words, in the last 10 years we collected $30T in Taxes and spent $41T. Most of that $41T (not just the deficit that feeds the debt, mind you) was a transfer from men to women..

Since that won’t happen, the only two possible outcomes are :

Harvard girl would have to be some kind of rare protege to get into so many elite colleges/universities entirely on her own merits. The odds are against that. I’m no fan of Islam, but I’m almost starting to wonder if that might end up being the dark silver lining to all of this. At some point, someone’s going to have to put a check on the excesses of the women, and who else can you think of that’s showed any interest in a task like that? You might protest that these kinds of men won’t stop at curtailing only the liberties of women, and that they’ll probably also kill a whole lot of people in the process — and you’d probably be right. But when you’ve completely given up on doing a job, you’ve also given up the right to criticize the ones who end up actually doing it.

From the Orthodox perspective, the rest of Christendom tipped over into heresy 1000 years ago. In other words, even the most hard core Fundamentalist Protestant or Pre-Vatican II Catholic is a graceless heretic from their point of view.

I’ve meet Ivy League grads over the years. From what I observed, those with connections get those juicy, high wage jobs on Wall St. or in consulting firms. The unconnected rest pretty much have to scramble to find work like any Podunk St. U grad has to do.

Not very long, I would guess. Please. Right now you sound like a Stanton or a Wilcox (take your pick) who bemoans the loss of well-mannered gentlemen while also ignoring that modern “Christian” society punishes them for sport. Give me a break. I’ve never denied that Islam is a fetid death cult run by barbarians. Unfortunately for western society, they’re also a death cult that managed to avoid a blind spot that this civilization can’t cure itself of. Here’s the issue: If you’d like your country or your people to reach some level of prosperity then you’re going to have to get its members to demonstrate control over their natural behaviors — and that includes the members who happen to be female. Modern government won’t do this. The modern church won’t do it either. So if Islam will — and along the way, attracts a lot of men who got sick of their institutions’ neglect and apathy — who do you think picks up an advantage?
One way or another, order is going to come. If modern women can’t learn to control themselves, sooner or later someone or something else will bring them under control. Maybe that’ll be Islam. But if that happens, it won’t owe so much to the strength of their cause as it will to the abdication and neglect of ours. They may get a victory — but it’ll only come because we gave it to them. Last I checked, the Orthodox Church does not believe the New World exists. They pride themselves on having ethnic/national churches founded by an Apostle but none of the Twelve ever visited the Americas… which is why there is no American Orthodox. I’m no expert on Orthodox either because their churches in California refuse to speak English and don’t evangelize. Not a promising attitude.
Anyway, there’s nothing wrong with Protestantism. Scripture hasn’t changed and this is a bad time in history for trusting professional clergy. We crashed first but we’ll recover first, too.

I agree that if you’re an “anglo” or to be more precise, a white American who is several generations removed from the old country that you won’t fit in, but then again, you probably won’t be able to procure that foreign citizenship anyway.

As for not evangelizing, we have a Greek Orthodox Parish in my town. From what I have seen, most of the members are not Greek. I don’t think that they go knocking on doors to evangelize like some Protestants do, but they must be doing something. I do suspect that some members are people who are disappointed with the RCC for one reason or another, but from what I have heard, many are also former Protestants.

Actually I do find that protestant churches are inferior in architecture in many instances. Building modern rather than classical or gothic hence taking away the sense of the sacred.
And the basso profondo is lacking too. Consists to much of soft rock and hippies strumming guitars on how much they love Jesus.

Modern churchianity has so few songs that encourage a man to plant his feet, spread his shoulders and belt out a good tune in his natural vocal range….. with lyrics that actually reflect what he wants to say to God.
Too much of it is written to be dung by professional singers to the accompaniment of full bands. Not by groups of untrained people with maybe one instrument.

Thank you for the kind endorsment of my Orthodox apologetic activities. Yes, I think maybe a set of permalinks to those posts would be good. Dalrock lets me talk about it here sometimes, I think because I am not an asshole about it.
Every time I write a post about Orthodoxy, I end up with a bout 2-3 new seekers, most of whom convert. I think I have been given a gift of being able to draw folks to it.
No, there is no “American Orthodox Church,” and the OCA is ostensibly the stand in for that right now. THere are a number of historical and ecclesial reasons for that mess. Novaseeker has a better handle on the story there. Bottom line is, if there WAS one, it would probably ultimately be an autonomous church under the autocephaly of the Russians, since they were the first in North America (Alaska).
You have to understand, Orthodox takes a VERY long view of converting the world. They will wait and wait and wait until the time is right. Could be another thousand years. 🙂

This Brown guy is exactly the man around which our modern domestic relations law were built . . . the deadbeat dad. So, the states, trying to ensure that the taxpayer doesn’t get stuck supporting Browns chillrens, designs laws to favor the mother and child support/alimony. The problem comes when an honest man finds himself in divorce court, he is treated like this deadbeat Brown. So, in these cases, the mother makes off with cash and prizes due the excessive reach of statutes design to address deadbeat dads and welfare queens.
A friend of mine was frivorced by his wife last year. We all saw it coming… she was out in the bars every night, nothing her husband did could reel her in. We all knew there was an affair, as did he. So the inevitable divorce came. Here are the facts:
1. The father was always home being a responsible father while she was slutting all over town.
2. The mother made more money than the father.
3. The mother was fired from her job shortly after she filed for divorce because she was spending all her work time communicating with her boyfiend.
4. The mother was unemployed for 10 weeks.
5. The mother got a new job in December, making even more than at the job that she was fired from, which is much more than the father.
6. Joint custody arrangement, but the father has them more than his share.
7. Grandma and grandpa have them for most of the time they are supposedly with the mother.
8. Because she was out of work for 10 weeks, fathers income was higher for the calendar year.
9. Judge ordered father to pay child support to mother, even though the mother makes more, lives with her boyfriend, and he has the kids more.
10. Father told the judge she makes more than him, and the judge told him “i’m not going to let you shirk your responsibilities.”
11. Mother and boyfriend on two incomes plus child support minus costs of kids since father has disposable income that exceeds the father’s entire salary. Hawaii, Florida, Paris, and that’s just so far this year.
Yes, Dalrock is right. The model isn’t designed to keep men from leaving marriage, it is an alternative to marriage that is destroying marriage. This is a respectable man who got hosed…if he had 17 kids that he didn’t take care of, women would be honored to let him ejaculate in them. You flip the genders of this story, and Gilligan would be outraged and suggest a Frivorce Against Women Act.

Dalrock is fairly flexible here for those who play well. You certainly fit that and have good points to make. I can see the value of Orthodox beliefs for some, even though I push a more direct Sola Scriptura line myself.

I recall someone “common ground” article by Rabbi Boteach where he basically said “right and left will never agree on abortion or illegitimacy, so we should work together to end the culture of male womanizing and abandonment that causes the issues in the first place.”
These are well meaning people, and I understand where they are coming from. I’m a father of two daughters, and ever part of my nature wants to protect them from douchebags. However, the reality is that the choice is theirs, and I my efforts need to go towards helping them make good choice rather than trying to teach men how to treat them. If they are irresponsible or drawn to douchebags, all my efforts to “teach” men will be moot since there will always be douchebags.
Fathers see girls with fatherless children and understandably (and rightly) think the fathers should be there, but as Dalrock points out this is a terrible basis for social policy. Ironically, the child support and government assistance leads to more fatherless children. There must be more consequences to the girls, or the problem will never be solved.
As a father of daughters, that is a difficult reality to accept. However, remove all the efforts to solve the illegitimacy problem, and it solves itself. Tell a woman you want child support and WIC to end, and she’ll unleash a frenzy of questions like “what if the father doesn’t help?” and “what if he doesn’t want to be a dad?” … and she will start asking ALL the RIGHT questions. Better yet, the questions will be asked BEFORE the child comes. One of the most effective ways to ensure children have fathers is necessitating mothers actually include the father in the decision to become a father. Ideally, this would be in marriage. It’s sad that we’ve gone so far over the edge that including a man in a decision to be a father is now seen as a violation of the woman’s reproductive freedom.

That’s the point of Dalrock’s series on the “double standard”. Feminists and most conservatives assume the double standard was based on hatred of women. It wasn’t. The double standard was unfair (life’s unfair), but it was based on biology and math.
One woman can only get pregnant by one man at a time (with extremely rare exceptions). By contrast, one man can impregnate an unlimited number of women.
As Dalrock has pointed out, and this case in Tennessee brilliantly illustrates, 100 bastard children does not equal 100 sluts, which does not equal 100 dirtbags. In this case…
100 bastard children = 57 sluts = 4 dirtbags.
Even if you somehow took two or three dirtbags out of the gene pool, the remaining one or two dirtbags could easily – and quite happily – service the 57 sluts.
Although condemning sexual sin in men is right, and we should do so, it won’t reduce the epidemic of fatherlessness. That’s not because of misogyny. It’s because of biology. People used to understand that.

The same constituency that screams “unfair” is unsurprisingly the same group that thinks unfairness based on biology is just fine when it favors a preferred group. (VAWA, ‘ladies first,” to name examples.)
If you favor unfairness to women they call you a misogynist, and if you oppose unfairness to men they call you a misogynist. They do so with a self-righteous attitude of indignation seemingly oblivious to the contraction.
Me, I oppose unfairness based on bigotry, but believe it is necessary when based on reality.

This is all tied up with big city migration as well. The black family was destroyed after the northern migration when their sense of community was disrupted, and if you dig into the media at the time you have CIA assets like Gordon Parks creating movies like Shaft, and his son creating Superfly, that lead to a massive sexualization of black culture in the 1970s and 1980s. I remember Thomas Sowell once said there was a time when you could run a newspaper stand in Harlem at midnight. Welfare + media has wiped that out, and now black people are the most vulnerable group to manipulation in the US, as we saw with the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown incidents recently.

Furthermore, in my personal experience the only ones here in Canada who actually have their acts together are the children of religious immigrant families, either Christian or Muslim.

This is welcome news, given that our entire strategy dealing with the Muslim world since 9/11 has been to assume it is really a religion of peace that was “hijacked” by a small band of meaningless radicals. You should be proven right any day now in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc.

As someone who has much closer direct ties to Islam than you, I am here to tell you that you are foolish.
Islam is the only religion where it is widely accepted that one should be killed for leaving the faith. No Christian, Jew, or Hindus think that.
A ‘moderate Muslim’ is merely one who excuses/condones terrorism without actively participating in it or donating to it.
That said, Wahabbi/Salafist Islam is the second-worst ideology in the world. That means that while it has much in common with the worst ideology in the world (feminism), one can’t help but root for Islam to damage ‘feminism’ in some way, for no one else will…
Relatively few Muslims have actually read the Koran.
Most get their knowledge of Islam second, third or fouth-hand, from teachers who teach their own preferences with a few cherry-picked verses thrown in.
Those who actually get serious enough about following Mohammed to read the Koran and Haditha, tend to become what we call “radical” or “fundamentalist” – both of which much-abused words simply mean going back to the basic, roots or foundations of the faith.
Islam was invented by a violent man who used violence for his own ends. It should come as no surprise that it creates violent followers.
