I just hope we all have enough reserves and resilience to be able to say the same words of faith and praise next Christmas eve as the world seems to unravel. I will try to be a voice of encouragement, and try to ensure this little internet community remains a place of compassion and support.

This site does celebrate the Everlasting Father’s imminence, by preparing for King Jeshua’s millennial sabbath. The OT closes in Malachi 4, the church age closes with us, we are directed to restore fatherhood and sonship in KIngdom preparation, and as celebratory offering of Christ’s arrival. Soon it will be possible to behold Father, on Earth no less, because He is now indistinguishable from Jeshua.
So we’re witnessing the massing resistance, heavenly and otherwise, to that Kingdom. Great denial, and separation, of father from son, and of father from head of family, with terrible consequences to the western world’s sons, as suggested in the recent post ‘Brutal’.
Right now it’s wartime, and here and a few other places the advised Scriptural weapons are employed: the blood of Christ, truth, and fearlessness. This combination is effective, and indeed wounds the enemy, administratively and personally. Truth about what’s been happening in America is the beginning of restoration. These are flagstones in the drawbridge between the current order, soon to culminate, and Everlasting Father’s presence and proprietorship. It’s humble enough work, but it does work.

Watched “The Queen’s 2017 Broadcast” and her majesty as always delivers a comforting message for a very nervous world.

I heard it on the wireless – it is our state of the union address. I was struck by how clear her voice was – for an old woman. Each Sunday they say prayers in Church for the health of the Royal Family: given that her mother lived to one hundred and fifty and that Her Maj and the Prince of Edinburgh are almost one hundred how can anyone doubt the efficacy of prayer.
The broadcast (inaugurated by her stuttering Father) goes out to the Empire – former Colonists may also listen or watch it seems.
Back in the 1980’s / 1970’s on Christmas Day…mom would always find the CBC station on the living room stereo (I grew up only a 45 min drive from the Quebec border) and she would listen to what Her Majesty had to say.

Fifty years ago, Boxing Day 1967, The Beatles had their movie “Magical Mystery Tour” broadcast on the BBC. The critics hated it, and felt they could finally pounce on them!
It was never shown in the USA, and wasn’t released until December 1987 on VHS.
Boxing Day….never understood that. Yes, I am an American at work today. Working class Americans never really have “days” off 🙂
In Canada it is a day to show off the globohomo consumershit you got, and to go shopping at post-holiday sales.
I think originally it was the day you boxed up your (still usable) old clothes, and gave them to charity. But, I’ve also heard it commemorated a Muhammad Ali-George Foreman fight, so I’m not sure.

I am conscious that whilst Americans had to go into work, in England we continue laze around for it is Boxing Day. As I understand: the idea was that on this day a gift or gifts in a box are given to the tradesmen who have come to your backdoor throughout the year to deliver groceries. Whatever its origins in most years Boxing Day provides the prefect excuse not to go into work from about the twenty-first of December until the sixth of January. Most years I say, especially when Xmas falls midweek; say a Tuesday: not much point going in on Xmas Eve so ones last weekday would be the 21st. Not much point going in for just Thursday and Friday, either. The following week News Years Day falls conveniently on the Tuesday and so not much point going in on the Monday. Should Xmas fall on say a Wednesday not much point going in on the Thursday or Friday and so ones first day back at work would be the 6th January.
I think England has the advantage here on America.

Many are indeed off today. The County and State workers. Most Federal employees are off (the postal service is an exception). California schools have been on holiday since mid December (and yet every election we hear that teachers work too much) and won’t return until January 3rd or so, then a week off for Rev King Day in mid January…..
Mall and retail are open (wage slaves). The usual nurses, doctors, care providers, clerks, paramedics, fire departments are all working. Trash collection too. Professional folks in most ‘lite’ industry are off (high tech workers….San Francisco and San Jose pretty much shut down from the 22nd til January 4th or so this year)
Most of the US economy is now serviced based and faster becoming “working class” based. A lot of people are working today.

Yup, my tech employer ($40B in sales) is closed in the US, Latin America and Europe until Jan 2. Open for business in Asia, though.
Americans don’t get much paid time off. Many don’t get any at all. I’m one of the “fortunate ones” who gets 12 paid (bank) holidays. We recently switched to “unlimited vacations” at the office, which in practical terms means 4-5 weeks a year of paid vacations, so I get about 35 or so days off per year.
My position is officially weekends and holidays. Since it is almost impossible to cover my full weekend shift, when I do want time off….I have to put my request in four to six months in advance. That hike I took in June for three full weeks off? I dropped in the request almost a year in advance. I also “float” for others during the week for when other staff needs “off time”. I am basically the part-time fill in guy…….
I make minimum wage, I do have good dental / medical and vision care without being a “full time” employee; thus being “forced” on to MediCal / Medicaid…so that’s a good thing and my co-pays are low for medical (10 bux) and dental is 20% of total cost for each visit. Eye exam is free every year and and I only pay 25% of cost for lenses
Trade offs I suppose……..but I have not spent a Christmas with relatives since 1994

Someome on the east side of the Pond can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that Boxing Day is a day set aside for “boxing up” gifts to give to one’s neighbors, friends, co-workers, employees, etc. (i.e., non-family members). For some reason it’s a tradition that never took root here in the States.
I think it might have to do with what is considered the “Christmas season” in the USA, which is the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Many Americans start to remove their decorations and throw out the tree out as early as Dec 26. I have had the pleasure of explaining to people that Dec 25 is not the 12th day of Christmas, but that it is the first day of Christmas (much to their astonishment). Anyway, it is common to give those boxing day gifts before Christmas in the US.

The 12DoC is religiously significant, which explains why most Americans –even those who call themselves Christians– are clueless about it.
If we Americans were honest, we would admit that “Christmas” in America has pretty much always been celebrated primarily as a secular commercial holiday, with the religious observance being a very distant afterthought.

Maybe not always, but it sure has been for many decades. We allowed the merchant class to redefine Christmas into a materialistic bacchanal. I think Charles Schulz framed it best in Peanuts where he has Sally (I think it was Sally) say something like “Christmas is about getting while the getting is good.”
I’m shocked no one that frequents this blog has yet said that Christmas has nothing to do with the Bible. I thought at least a couple of you would know that. Sad to think how ignorant.

Nothing wrong with celebrating the incarnation of Jesus on Christmas. You need to read a bit more of the NT siafutwo. We are no longer under The Law.
It is most unlikely Jesus was born at this time of the year, but at least we have some element of Christianity that keeps weaving into people’s lives. Many may hate it, but it remains. Take away Christmas and the whole thing collapses on them, so it remains even though they despise it. I can live with that.
The good news, I believe, is that America’s slowly unfolding economic collapse is gradually taking the materialism out of Christmas. Most people no longer have the means to make Christmas an orgy of unbridled materialistic selfishness. They may not see Christmas for its religious meaning, but they know that they can’t fully materialize it either. Maybe a total collapse will be the catalyst for a renaissance of Christmas as a religious holiday.

Maybe in some levels and demographics. For too many, Christmas is only about Rudolf, Frosty, Santa and overeating. Should that end (or become forbidden) then for them December will just be another cold month like January.
For the lukewarm, there might be hope that they wake from their slumber.
I guess she was trying to use the girls as a tool to smash patriarchy, or something. And if that didn’t work, then stealing a piece of easily replaced property would cancel Christmas, I suppose.
And for those who do not wish to commemorate that the Word Became Flesh, they can do (or not do) as they wish. I’m certainly not going to twist their arm.

Saddened by your comment about Krist-mass (death of Christ). There are plenty of biblical references and historical references about the origins of the 8th/9th month of the year, so called the 12th month of December of the pagan non-biblical Julian/Gregorian calendar of pagan Rome. If the dark age atrocities and fleshly torture against evangelical Christians by the roman catholic Church is denied or brushed off as “lies”, then there is no chance in hell the atrocities of biblical times all the way leading to the death of Jesus will EVER be acknowledged. But, sure, Jesus never existed, my God is a fairy god, and decapitated heads is a sick joke from a liberal sci-fi/fiction author of the 20th century.
