Ensuring a safe and pleasurable ride.

An Australian father wasn’t able to keep his daughter away from the head of the local biker gang.  After two years of pleading, he and his son joined the biker gang to provide overwatch:

A FATHER has told of the extraordinary steps he took to protect his daughter from a gang member — by joining the gang himself.

Stephen Pattman was living an ordinary life in suburbia when he learned his daughter Chloe, who was then 19 years old, had begun a relationship with ACT Rebels president Ali Bilal.

From the article, the time-line appears to be:

  1. Daughter bangs Harley McBadboy for two years, while Daddy begs her to stop.
  2. Father and son join the biker gang for three years to escort her ride.
  3. Father and son leave the gang, and are harassed for an undisclosed period of time until the father fires a gun near the head of one of the gang members.
  4. Father and son hide out in the wilderness for a year.
  5. Father and son return from the wilderness.  Father pleads guilty to endangering life and unauthorised use of a prohibited firearm.  As of the date of the article (July 2017) he was awaiting sentence.

Since the daughter and Harley McBadboy are still together, this would mean they have been together for over six years.  Fortunately, Harley McBadboy has seen the error of his ways and left the gang.

Despite the possibility of jail, he didn’t regret joining the gang. He’d spoken to Chloe, who told him Bilal was no longer in the gang scene.

Fathers cannot save their renegade daughters from their poor decisions. The end result of such efforts is always the same. The shiny armor is dented, the white charger is shot, the father writes her off, and she goes on doing whatever she wants to do (usually while sucking money from the guilt tripped ATM sperm donor). This is what coffee smells like. Been there, done that. Cheers.

Yep, point that red dot on some man and you’re heading to prison, that is why cartoonish chivalry is for morons. Cut it out with the female entitlement, they don’t deserve protection anymore. They disowned their men and sold themselves to the state and the incoming invaders.

Good to know daddy was there to protect his whoreslut of a daughter and now will pay the price.

Instead of all this cartoonish chivalry, how about laying down the law to your teen daughters something like this:

–you are responsible for everything you do and everything you decide. You are responsible for who you decide to date, what you decide to do on said dates, and who you decide to have sex with.

–Be a big girl and use your words. You are responsible to communicate what you want and what you need, in CLEAR VERBAL fashion, to said dates.

–If you decide to have sex, you, and you alone, will bear whatever consequences result from said decision. Some of those consequences will not be felt for years. Nevertheless, you WILL have them and you WILL bear them.

–If you don’t want to date a guy, don’t date him. But you don’t get to date guys who don’t want to date you.

–You will make mistakes. He will make mistakes. There are very few mistakes that cannot be fixed. But you will have to fix them.

–When it comes to sex, there are no mistakes. There are only decisions, good and bad. And from decisions flow consequences. Remember what I said about consequences up there.

–I cannot stop or control any of these things. I cannot and will not prevent consequences. And I cannot and will not make decisions for you. You can ask me questions. You can ask my advice. But when you are alone with a man at the moment of truth, you are on your own.

Nope all they can do is provide their daughters with good advice, instruction, and morals and outline the consequences if she goes off that track. If she goes off that track…he can say at least he warned her.

    @Dalrock

Something occurred to me just now – don’t you find it interesting that in modern Western society there this whole over-the-top protective “daddy” thing for daughters going, yet if you look in the Bible, what do you see reagrding advice given by a parent to a child about the opposite gender?

It’s always the mother or father to the son warning them against bad women or advising them what kind of woman to find.

In Proverbs 5, it’s a father warning the son against adultery.

In Proverbs 31 where we have the “wife of noble character,” it’s “the sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him.”

I can’t find any instance of the father or the mother engaging in this sort of counsel for the daughter.

Yet in our society the concept of parents protecting or advising their sons against evil women is virtually absent, and there is no cliche about the overly protective parent for the son. What kind of message do you think this sends to young men who are never taught to have be on their guard against the wrong type of women, i.e. have no standards?

When you think about it, it actually sounds kind of similar to the way that Bill Buckley once claimed that the reason why he wrote so many pieces for Playboy magazine was because “It’s the fastest way to communicate with my seventeen-year-old son.”

Of course, the difference between the two cases is that the teenage son is reading about illicit sex while the teenage daughter is enthusiastically engaging in it. And yet which of the two fathers do you suppose the modern church will be angrier with for failing to discipline their child?

  39. Spike says:

Did anyone notice that Harley McBadboy has a Muslim name?
In Australia, Motorcycle gangs are mainly Muslim. This is because during the ’90s, it was difficult to recruit members, so bikies kept initiating more and more Lebanese Muslims. Eventually they took over. One gang is mainly Shiíte, and the other main gang Sunni. They fight out turf wars over drugs, prostitution and tattoo parlours (excellent venues for money laundering).
This guy is an idiot for endangering the life of his son and himself. He should have said, ”I raised you better than this. If you choose this guy, you will be responsible for everything that happens to you. Goodbye”.

  40. This guy is an idiot for endangering the life of his son and himself. He should have said, ”I raised you better than this. If you choose this guy, you will be responsible for everything that happens to you. Goodbye”.

The other option would have been a more direct and final action. He’s going to end up in prison anyway, it shows his moral cowardice when he’s bragging to the newspapers about a job left undone. Talk is cheap, so are t-shirts.

I wonder if they sell it in white to accommodate the “wet-look”.

  42. seventiesjason says:

Yes. Look at the “man cave”phenomena.

A man room, corner or area of the house was at one time the unfinished basement. The unheated garage or small attic area where dad could putter around undisturbed. My dad had the basement. Full of tools, the furnace, dust. He had a beat up but comfy chair near the furnace with an equally beat up reading lamp from the 1950’s.

He would read in peace there. Fix things and build (my father was a master carpenter). There was nothing glamourous or cool about this space.

Today you have a bar, TV, video games, a finished room in his decor. A fridge, dartboard, furniture. A place for him to not work or think….but something to regulate him “to”

He was a bad boy? Send him to his room. Wife is mad at him, kick him out of bed and regulate him to the futon in the man cave. Wife hates football? Go to your room and watch it.

Most men don’t even build or create in these spaces. They have become the grown boy who has his own play space when the whole living areas of the house should be shared as such. These men will put up the front of manhood but most spend more time in this finished room than they do as actual fathers

That’s exactly what I thought at first. Bear in mind, though, that killing someone is tricky in Australia, with all sorts of onerous gun laws (if you can get one in the first place, the rounds you buy will be tracked and printed – better hope the spent bullet passes through and is never found), making it considerably more difficult a proposition to get away with, without leaving evidence.

Easier (both for your wallet and your freedom) is merely to let such a skank-ho daughter go. Tell her that she’s being cut out of the will, uninvited from any and all family functions, and ask her to quit using the family name. I’m sure she’ll have lots of “moxie” as she tells you off, one last time. Don’t respond to this, she’s an adult wimminz, who has “the right to choose” enshrined in law and custom. She’s thus not your problem any more.

I think we’re hardwired to excuse the faults of children of both sexes. It’s similar to having someone else proofread your written work. Everyone else is a screwball, but of course my product is perfect. Yeah, that’s it.

Thus in this strange feminist milieu, we have social support for excusing every female shortcoming, and I think parents latch on to this (subconsciously, for the most part) to ignore the very real flaws and character defects in their daughters. No one wants to think he raised a nasty ho’, and everyone wants to believe he raised a princess. Thus the ideological apparatus steps in, and reality gives way.

That was my reaction, too. Serve notice to all that she’s made her choice of husband and you’ve made your choice of damage control. Life is short enough without waging war on a biker gang even if you do have the firepower.

Only daughters, methinks. This may be why God wants the older women to instruct the younger women, to avoid Protective Daddy Syndrome.

It might have something to do with the way the mating system usually works. Historically, daughters would disperse to another family, while sons would stay close to their family or origin. So there would be more concern that daughters had in fact made the right choice to compensate.

In this day, we have feminists exploiting this protective instinct for their own ends, and LARPers using it as an outlet to express their manhood.
