After five movies in a row denigrating husbands and fathers*, it looks like the upcoming Kendrick brother’s movie might have a different focus. It is still in post production but there is a trailer:
From The Christian Post in August of 2018:
COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Kendrick Brothers wrapped up filming their new movie “Overcomer” last week and the faith-based drama will feature strong female lead characters played by Priscilla Shirer and Shari Rigby.
*Fireproof, Courageous, Mom’s Night Out, War Room, and Like Arrows. The Kendrick brothers didn’t create Mom’s Night Out, but Alex Kendrick played the role of Pastor Ray.
Looks like the 2019-2020 #genderwar has finally made its way to Christian Culture
I don’t get it. What’s the focus of the film, from what we can tell from the trailer? It touches upon at least a dozen different themes.
None of these people are having a good time. Until (guessing) the girl wins the race.
@Larry
Identity politics and girlpower.
Larry, why no activity on Fabius Maximus? I’ve been missing your writings!
Squid-hunt,
I think that’s a bit harsh, and other interpretations seem equally plausible. We’ll see when the film comes out.
But you’re making the smart bet – expecting the worst – given the Kendrick Brothers’ past films.
Girls can do it all guys, they don’t really need you but we still expect you to pay for their meals, open their doors, pay for dates, die for them, pay child support and alimony and respect them because they are better than you. Still don’t believe us, men, well here, another film to teach you further.
I suppose this one is concerning wives who are sinning against their families, overcoming their sin, repenting to God, submitting to their husbands and becoming better wives and mothers to the betterment of everyone around them… What that’s?! It’s not, it’s about super moms over coming obstacles in their way brought about by evil men, corrupt society and bad husbands… say it ain’t so!
I would pray that I’m wrong but something tells me I’m not. Haven’t watched the trailer, won’t watch the movie, won’t give them a dime or the satisfaction. Purge time.
SYNOPSIS
strong female lead characters
.. that’s all you need to know
The “strong independent woman” aspect is clearly more important than the father. We can’t have a movie today without a strong independent woman overcoming all. And she can’t start with any flaws either if you want to really fit the narrative!
…when his high school basketball team and state championship dreams are crushed…
What ever will we do if such a tragedy should strike? Trials, tribulations indeed!
I’ve got it: it is a shameless rip-off of Chariots of Fire with the following differences: instead of losing, America wins, instead of being white the lead is black and instead of being male the lead is female. It looks like Overcomer has a white coach but in Chariots I don’t think that was the case as Massabini is not a white name. Neither is there any hint that the movie will go into slow motion. with really crappy music.
Rollo, it has been here for years. We men are holding out in the last few strongholds in the Christian sphere that accept manhood.
The sad thing is that despite attending a very conservative church, linked to a conservative seminary, people get pissed when I drop red pills.
If you disturb/offend the females in a church in any way, you invite white knight cuckery to attack you.
“. . . helping the least likely runner attempt the impossible in the biggest race of the year.”
Because everyone knows Black folks are terrible at running. Ignore all of those medals, we have a narrative to service.
@ Dalrock,
At first I thought you were serious, until I saw the line about the obligatory “strong female characters.” Unless I’m missing something here…
…the faith-based drama will feature strong female lead characters played by Priscilla Shirer and Shari Rigby.
I’m not sure how you can have this without trashing Christian men, whether or not they’re husbands and fathers. Given that the SIWs in this film are black, the odds of an absence of male bashing decline more precipitously still. Even more relevant is the fact that old leopards (in this case the Kendricks) rarely ever change their spots. To expect their ilk to avoid dipping into their usual bag of stale tricks is like expecting Alexandria Ocasio Cortez to back off of social justice warfare for a year.
So,
– Man loses way
– Spiritual woman/girl, leads him to redemption, which he could never have found on his own.
– Bow down to the superiority and holiness of women.

You nailed it. No need to see the movie now (not, I’m sure, that anyone was planning to).
IOW, true to the usual formulaic Kendrick fare.
At the 00:11 mark of the trailer video they talk about “good enough father”.
Presumably just enough of a dad to be responsible and accountable legally and financially, but know when to get out of the way for wife.
Freeze it at the 00:40 mark.
This is a nice snapshot I think of the 2019 modern day feminist American woman in church.
My, she looks impatient.
Impatience and entitlement go hand in hand.
Or you know, maybe its a freeze frame shot of onlookers to Trump winning the 2020 election?
YAWN. Just another silly PC drama with a Christian label slapped on it. I’ll skip it.
Didn’t the Kendrick brothers go the way of the Wachowski brothers, Lana and Lilly?
Seriously, the last good Christian performance was in the early 70s:
Somehow, coaching the boys team was a selfish dream, but coaching a black girl to run faster than white girls isn’t selfish. And he’s going to become a “real man” by telling her she can do it herself as long as Jesus is her boyfriend.
It’s going to suck, that’s certain.
This is the Kendricks’ homage to Monty Python. Is the grrlll the rabbit or the Holy Hand Grenade?
This film is obviously racist as it cast a West African in the role of a distance runner, which as we all know should only be played by East Africans. This type of insensitivity to racial issues is what we have come to expect from modern Christians.
@Junkyard Dawg
I’m somewhat serious. It looks like they are changing their focus away from purely hammering married fathers. Just looking at the trailer, I don’t for example anticipate a Father’s Day tie in for men to take a resolution pledging to be better husbands and fathers. That is a big improvement over Courageous. Likewise, I suspect the married father Alex plays in this upcoming movie won’t be so devoid of redeeming qualities that secular reviewers are shocked. That is a big improvement over War Room.
At the same time, there is the obligatory gushing reference to strong female leads. From the trailer I also suspect that part of what Alex’s character needs to learn to do is let go of the past (coaching boys) so he can get with the future (coaching girls).
I was most struck by the production companies identified at the beginning of the trailer.
I admit that i don’t know much beyond the basics of film production, finances and distribution. What i do know is that making a feature length film costs a lot of money. Even the cheapest major films run at least a low eight figure production budget. It’s only the cheapo indie films that get made on shoestring budgets of anywhere from $500,000 to $5 million.
Most producers/production companies get big financial backers to finance a feature film. They want a “major studio” or “major distributor” to put up money to get a film made. Reason: Those majors have a lot of money and are willing to spend it on top talent, post production, and marketing. Those majors also have the connections to attach people to projects and to get films distributed into wide release in all available markets. And there are a lot of factors that go into whether a production company agrees to put up money on a film. And of course the prime factor is whether they think the film will make money. Other factors include current trends and the track records of the producers/filmmakers.
People like the Kendrick Brothers’ films. They make money. People want to see them. And notice that there’s no indication of the involvement of Sherwood Pictures, the Kendricks’ own mom and pop production company out of their hometown in Albany, GA. They made this film with Provident Films, out of Nashville, which specializes in making and distributing Christian films. And Provident is bigger and more prominent than Sherwood.
But they got a true heavyweight because Sony has picked up this film. And you can bet Sony put up a lot of the money to get that film made, and probably some creative control too.
That was the main takeaway i got.
Eh. Maybe I spoke too soon. Courageous came out in 2011, and War Room in 2015. Both of those films were attached to Affirm Films, a division of Sony, which aims films at evangelical Christians, and to Provident. TriStar distributed both of those films. TriStar is a major, but not a huge lumbering heavyweight like Sony. Or Columbia, Universal, Warner Brothers, or 20th Century Fox.
You see this pattern over and over again, yes especially among Christians as Dalrock is wont to point out. The Kendrick’s are now going to stop focusing so much attention on the men to give some equal time to the women. Except no self-respecting man wanted the kind of attention they were giving in the first place.

@ Damn Crackers
Nah. The Passion of the Christ and Hacksaw Ridge were both great. And I expect The Resurrection of the Christ to be equally good.
I can tell from the freeze frame that this movie is going to be horrible. I don’t even need to watch the trailer.
@thedeti
Based on what I’ve seen of evangelicalism, it doesn’t surprise me the Kendrick brothers actually make money. Sony must accurately think evangelicals are dupes to be fleeced.
So after the magical negro we now get the magical vixen instead.
None of you guys get the ministry of the Kendrick Brothers.
After black culture has descended into a cesspool of gangsta rap, Illuminati shills and single-motherdom, the Kendrick’s are coming to the rescue.
They cast a black guy “Tony” in “War Room” because they want Tyrone to commit in real life. They’re casting special black girl in this movie because they don’t want LaShauntea or Sheneesha to become “Strong Independent Single Moms” innreal life.
You all need to read Jordan Peterson and what he says about archetypes…
I want to see a Hollywood movie where the Strong Independent Woman competes athletically against the Transgender Freak. I love watching the feminists and the freaks fight each other.
Dalrock Rollo is writing a book on red pill and religion. You gonna help him?
Speaking of movies, the Portland Horror Film Festival does its part to correct the shocking lack of female horror film directors: http://morbidlybeautiful.com/portland-horror-film-festival-2019/
As a dedicated supporter of those fighting for equal representation in the film industry, PHFF is again waiving submission fees for women directors during the month of February for Women in Horror month.
Did you even know that February is Women in Horror Month?
Yet the news remains grim:
Even with Portland Horror Film Festival’s commitment to gender representation, women-helmed horror films have only made up about 25% of submissions, with a similar percentage of official selections.
Horrors indeed. The patriarchy’s oppression is everywhere.
It’s only the cheapo indie films that get made on shoestring budgets of anywhere from $500,000 to $5 million.
I’ve seen some decent indie films shot in the $5,000 to $25,000 range. At least that’s what the filmmakers claim during the Q&As. Naturally, everyone on the film worked for free, the actors brought their own wardrobes, and the films were shot in the filmmakers’ homes.
How much is the entry fee that women can’t afford?
@ RPL
Portland is a notorious hotbed of patriarchy.
So after the magical negro we now get the magical vixen instead.
I eagerly await the eventual magical negro disabled transgendered pansexual vixen.
Is Chariots of Fire a Christian movie? Maybe but it is also historically inaccurate in ways that even Hollywood would think were going a bit far. Eric Liddell did not learn on the boat over to France that the 100 metres finals were to be held on a Sunday – he had known for about a year and had been training for the 400 metres since that time. It is true his winning time broke the world record but he clearly was tiring by the tape in the way a true 400 metres runner would not have been. The finals for the 200 metres were not held on a Sunday. He reached the final for that event but finished third – the movie is slient as to that. Lord Burghley (The future sixth Marquess of Exeter) did not win Gold in the 400 metres Hurdles where he had been an unsuccessful competitor. He was to achieve the Gold Medal for that discipline in the 1928 Olympics and thus he had not given up his 400 metres slot to Liddell. I always feel a bit sorry for your Jackson Schultz – a great Sprinter – for the only reason that (((Harold Abrahamsen))) won the 100 metres (apart form the absence of Liddell) was because he pushed his chest out to breast the tape first which looks to me a bit like cheating. The movie likes to suggest that Abrahamsen was (on the basis of no evidence and indeed against the facts) the victim of British Anti-Semitism. If the British are so anti-semitic why do they allow people like Abrahamsen into their most prestigious University and indeed the Bar (for that was his day job) and why do the movie makers show Abrahamsen beating Burghley in a race round the quadrangel at Cambridge when no such race ever took place but it is was Burghley who had managed the feat of going round the block before the twelfth chime of the clock struck and in a very fast time. That to me looks like an early example of cultural appropriation.
Liddell may be the greatest Scottish athlete ever (although Alan Wells, Olympic 100 metres champion in 1980 might have something to say about that) and Liddell’s 100 yards British record stood for thirty-five years until surpassed in 1959. Liddell has now had another film made of his life leading up to his premature death in China in the Second World War. We have recently had a stage play (with circlorama) playing in London of Chariots of Fire. I never much cared for the picture and now knowing far more of the true facts like it even less.
I should have included but failed to do so forgetting that this would not be well known to Americans that Liddell was in China as a missionary and ended up a prisoner of the Chinese – he was not there as a combatant. I should also have paid tribute to that other great but in 1924 unlucky American sprinter Charles Paddock not to mention the other two American finalists (in a field of six!) Bowman and Murchison.
Opus: The movie likes to suggest that Abrahamsen was (on the basis of no evidence and indeed against the facts) the victim of British Anti-Semitism.
I only saw the film once, in the 1980s, I recall a scene where Abrahamsen gazes about a church, and laments that British society is so Christian. Just seeing Christian icons makes him feel like an outsider, filling him with resentment.
For many (most, I think) Jews, the mere expression of Christianity is anti-Semitic.
I recall Donald Trump being accused of dog whistling anti-Semitism in 2016, when he vowed to say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays.”
I doubt Buddhists, or even Muslims or atheists, care about “Merry Christmas.” It’s Jews who hate the term, a hatred they’ve tried to instill in other minorities though the media and academia.
Chariots of Fire really captures the Jewish discomfort, and even loathing, of Christianity.
You would think that eventually people would get tired of cliches. Like, wouldn’t a movie about something else (beside the member of a protected identity group overcoming systemic barriers to success) be refreshing?
After the first bazoinkabilion times I was lectured in a movie about these topics, it stopped being entertaining. But I guess there is still a market for it.
Scott,
What did you think of Gran Torino? I think that broke out of it and was popular enough to give incentives to others to go in that direction. But they didn’t.
I’d like to see a movie about a soldier who goes to Afghanistan, starts really upping is efforts to be a religious, serious Christian husband, starts a mens Bible study group there on the battlefield, and then when he gets home, he finds his wife has moved out, took all his stuff, is pregnant with her new boyfriends baby and the two of them have been living on the husbands paycheck and housing allowance the whole time.
They could show how he and his grumpy jaded army therapist work through and overcome the temptation to kill himself.
That was a pretty common story. I’d watch it.
But if you gave a script like that to the Kendrick brothers they would be confounded by it and have to add a part to show how the husband drove her in to the arms of another man from 10,000 miles away.
They could show how he and his grumpy jaded army therapist work through and overcome the temptation to kill himself.

Man. If you helped any of those guys turn any from suicide your whole salary and pension are well worth it in the eyes of this taxpayer.
As far as the movie goes, the Kendrick brothers have squandered their reputation. At this point why would anyone not deep in evangelical culture go to any of their movies?
Scott, you could make a movie like that, provided it included a Good Christian Woman character to please the female audience.
The husband returns from war, and discovers his slutty wife (i.e., the Bad Woman) having done all that stuff. So he contemplates murder or suicide. But then he meets a Good Christian Woman, who saves and redeems him.
Hollywood films have plenty of evil female characters. You can do that, provided there’s also a Good Woman to show that NAWALT.
“What did you think of Gran Torino? I think that broke out of it and was popular enough to give incentives to others to go in that direction. But they didn’t.”
Great movie. But “Mud,” and indie type film with some big stars (Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon), was more red pill. The way it portrayed back-stabbing females and divorce was really unusual.
@Opus

Actually, CoF was quite good, and I’d wager the soundtrack for this new flick isn’t nearly on par with anything Vangelis scored. (He also scored the original Blade Runner). The theology and message is probably a lot worse, too. But yeah, copying the plot of a famous movie and making more PC is very common, and now the “Christian” genre is doing it…sad.

Unfortunately, because of the longitudinal and temporal nature of suicidality, you can never really “know” if something you said or did was the proximate “cause” of the prevention of one. Unless a former patient comes out and says “dr Klajic said something that struck me and I chose to stay alive.”
That pretty much never happens.
I do know that I lost s couple. The worst one was a guy I had deployed with and against my better judgment also treated him.
We made it all the way through the deployment with his wife back home sharing more and more news of her exploits. She would even sent him a pic of herself straddled upon a guy, f$&@ing him to really drive it home.
I continued to see him back home and actually put him in the hospital three times as his suicide risk went off the scale.
In the end, he signed up for 4 more years on the promise from his wife that they would PCS to another duty station for a fresh start.
At the last minute, she changed her mind and he had to honor his commitment and move without her.
He was devastated. He chose death instead.
But remember, I and other readers here are supposed to vigilantly police ourselves against creeping “misogyny.”
Last night I attended a live performance of “Whose Line Is it Anyway?” (when on the road it’s called “Whose Live Anyway?”. Fortunately for me it wasn’t on my dime, as the ticket was a gift. I say this because the performers (who were not the headliners on the TV show) were:
Suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome and were foaming at the mouth
Were insulting the audience for being white
Said that Christmas was an antisemitic holiday
Said that Christmas was stolen from pagans, but it didn’t matter because there is no God.
Also, the performance was very vulgar, with lots of F bombs and other expletives not used on the TV show. I suppose that I should have expected this.
I am also not planning on attending the local comic con (I mean pop culture con, as San Diego Comic Con is now suing everybody who uses comic con in their name) because it too has become incredibly politicized. The local show used to be fun, especially the panels where the actors would share anecdotes about whatever show/movie/cartoon/comic book they were involved with. Now its Trump Derangement Syndrome, homosexuality, drugs, etc. The organizers claim that the show is family friendly, but I think that would only be in a progressive universe. It’s been breathtaking to see how quickly the local convention has gone downhill into the sewer, but I suppose that it’s simply reflecting the popular culture.
@Frank K
Sad. I loved the original Whose Line Is It Anyway? It could be a little dicey at times (like early SNLs), but was really funny with no agenda and without resorting to vulgar shock value all the time.
@Scott
That’s horrible. No idea what you would even say to someone going through that. Sometimes the reality is so painful for people that going crazy or escaping some way is understandable.
Sounds to me like you did all you could. Everyone has to make their own decisions in the end. I’m glad you were there to help.

If nothing else, stories like this have helped me reject the chivalry and just accept women as fellow broken people. I think it is harder for us as men to forgive because when women go bad this way they look like traitors, and so when a men can’t deal with betrayal, it turns into a burning hatred. A simple man deals with women under the assumption they share the same values of loyalty and brotherhood that they do. How much more merciful would it be for men to be taught the truth from a younger age, so that they could understand what it means that a woman is a weaker vessel, amd then provide structure to help them in their weakness.
The church feminists, of both sexes, have ruined a lot of lives. Non christian feminists are bad enough, but I don’t think the church feminists even realize the magnitude of their error and the destruction they have brought.
Church is a farce among many non christian men who understand what women are really like. Does the church care about these men? Not as far as I can see. If I was a feminist pastor I would be terrified that God would remove me and replace me with someone who also cared about men. Who cares about the manosphere, God Himself is the One to fear.
In the meantime, take a breath, and enjoy a moment of normal, father in the house, healthy family life.

I apologise for changing the subject from Overcome to Chariots but need to make two small points:
1. I have done this before by referring to Abrahams as Abrahamsen and my only excuse is that there is a Danish composer who is not Jewish by the name of Abrahamsen – my stupid.
2. Chariots was written by the late Colin Welland who came from the north of England and was openly very left wing – The English remember him as an actor from Z (pronounced zed) Cars – but perhaps the Producers needed the movie to be ‘culturally sensitive’. That is not entirely unknown: Exodus a once very popular movie indulges in outrageous British bashing until the last ten minutes when one of the characters with some authority says that actually we weren’t so bad.
Still can’t understand the popularity of Vangelis’s music. Loved Ernest Gold’s music for Exodus – and Mad4 World.
How much is the entry fee that women can’t afford?
It doesn’t matter. It could be five cents and would still be an unjust outrage. Oppressed snowflakes not only should not have to pay anything, but should be paid for gracing the event with their presence. ‘Cause vagina. Or something
We made it all the way through the deployment with his wife back home sharing more and more news of her exploits. She would even sent him a pic of herself straddled upon a guy, f$&@ing him to really drive it home.
There should be bounties put out on women like that. Seriously.
The church feminists, of both sexes, have ruined a lot of lives. Non christian feminists are bad enough, but I don’t think the church feminists even realize the magnitude of their error and the destruction they have brought.
Oh, they’ll realize it come Judgment Day when it’s too late.
There’s probably already a construction boom underway in Hell to accommodate all the additional arrivals.
RPL,
Jews may feel Christians hate them, but they have and continue to treat Christians VERY poorly, especially Jewish people who start following their Messiah. And then you have people like Soros who are Jewish by heritage if not practice who fight against Christianity in Western Civilization.
I will never support anti-semitism, but they so bring a log of it on themselves.
Feeriker-
The part that makes it most unbearable is the commands response to these stories, and they are quite ubiquitous.
First priority? Make sure the soldier has NOT changed any bank accounts to protect his money and assets while is overseas in a hostile fire/hazard pay area. Make sure the wife is still getting her share of housing allowance.
Second priority? If we lose this soldier to evacuation for suicidality or depression, our end strength will be amber.
No one cares about the causes of servicemember suicides, which are accounted for by orders of magnitude by what the wife is doing to destroy him back home. Its not OK to discuss it.
Not a scene in the trailer where Mr Kendrick doesn’t look confused, look desperate, or find himself staring at the ground.
Scott says:
February 23, 2019 at 1:31 pm
Yup. That was my experience before retiring 20 years ago. I have to believe that things are orders of magnitude worse nowadays. They are not even pretending anymore that the individual warrior is anything other than a disposable consumable, like a bullet, artillery shell, or missile. Once he’s broken, used up, or unusable he is to be thrown away and forgotten.
I’m truly dumbfounded by the fact that ANY self-respecting man still chooses to serve in the U.S. military. Only the most brain dead or most profoundly self-deluded thinks that he is “defending his country’s freedoms” or even serving a cohesive, functioning nation at all.
I had forgotten that in 1946 my Father then a newly made British Officer was in what was then the British Protectorate of Palestine where he has been sent to be assigned to The Standard Oil Company of America. I asked him what his views were as between the Jews and The Arabs and he said the Jews were more capable. He also said the closest he was to being killed was in Egypt where some idiot in an adjoining tent let off his weapon the bullet passing through the canvas of my Father’s tent – this from someone who lost at Arnhem in 1944 when then a Sergeant a third of his platoon!
Scott — “At the last minute, she changed her mind and he had to honor his commitment and move without her. He was devastated. He chose death instead.”
You didn’t mention kids so I’ll assume they had none. If they didn’t, and he killed himself solely, or almost solely, due to rejection and cucking by his wife. This illustrates the power of the Romantic mythos that underlies the modern West, and forms a large part of popular culture/religion, even in this Age of Nihil.
Apparently this young man invested his entire self-worth, reason for being, in a woman. He allowed her to drive him to death.
Correct me if I’m wrong. I didn’t know him, but if so, then boys and young men need warning against this general threat. This is obsession and fascination of type with Dionysian or Eleusinian rites of initiation and blood. The Mystery Traditions. They were feminine-controlled cults and ‘religions’, btw.
Not exactly Jesus. Somehow I doubt boys and young men will hear this lesson preached from the pulpit.
RPL:
I’ve seen some decent indie films shot in the $5,000 to $25,000 range.
Yeah, some are. The production values are low but you can make a hit with not much money. Good examples are Kevin Smith’s early movies. Clerks was Smith’s first film. It came out in 1994. He shot it on a budget of about $28,000, most of it Smith’s personal funds, and he and his friends did almost all the production and post production work for next to nothing. It was made in black and white in 21 days. He borrowed almost everything to make the film including the camera used to make it and the convenience store and video store used as the setting. The actors worked basically for free. Many of them had never acted before, and some had never been in a film.
Chasing Amy was his third film, shot for $250,000 in 1997. Ben Affleck had done a few things before but this was before he really got famous. He did the film for next to nothing as a favor to Smith, his longtime friend. The rest of the actors worked for nothing or for scale. He used friends’ apartments, local bars and entertainment establishments, and empty storefronts for the locations in and around New Jersey. He has friends who work in production and who do the post production work and editing.
This is next to nothing in terms of what it costs to produce the average feature length wide release studio film in the modern US. $250,000 for a feature film is dirt cheap. (Chasing Amy made back almost 50 times its budget in theatrical release alone and it never went into wide release in its first run.) Hell, $1 million to $2 million is dirt cheap for a feature film.
@Scott,
None of this surprises me. When I was in the military, as an officer, I noticed that most of the officers were amoral and useless. Most were just doing it because they majored in something worthless in college or to pay for college.
Our military is not being used to defend us. Though it is a good place to learn trade skills, it’s not worth serving under amoral leadership and being used for dubious purposes such as bringing freedom to people who don’t know the definition of the word. Since the ’90s, it’s been increasingly used as a laboratory for social experimentation. Sooner or later, our elites are going to pick a fight with the wrong people and we’ll suffer a battlefield massacre or several. Then the legions will be brought home and used against us like they are in Mexico.
It would be difficult for me to tell my boys to serve unless it’s under a state militia such as we used to have at our founding. The stories you’ve told make me sick to my stomach. I realize there are many good people in the military but its bureaucracy and the government it reports to are rotten.
>Apparently this young man invested his entire self-worth, reason for being, in a woman. He allowed her to drive him to death. Correct me if I’m wrong. I didn’t know him, but if so, then boys and young men need warning against this general threat.
And against investing their self-worth and reason for being in their communities, too. Because they will let their communities drive them to death as well.
So what boys and young men really need is to be warned to make their socioeconomic contracts with their communities explicit, specific, and precise, and to hold the specific, precise people responsible accountable when their communities cheat them, betray them, and stab them in the backs.
The basic contract of civilization — guaranteed paternity in return for throwing ourselves into the meat grinders — has already been broken at the higher secular levels, and from what you folks report, the rot is steadily creeping downwards through the churches.
Boys and young men need to be told this. They can’t make sensible decisions without it.
@BillyS
In the Talmud I remember that it mentioned in one passage Jesus boiling in a tub of shit. So yeah Karaite Jews I expect will treat Christians better.
@BillyS
”Jews may feel Christians hate them”
The way medieval Europeans treated them especially as “Christ Killers” did not help matters.
The way medieval Europeans treated them especially as “Christ Killers” did not help matters.
It did not help matters that as early as 711 AD, Jews opened the Gates of Toledo to Muslim invaders (among other misdeeds): http://www.judaism-islam.com/jews-opene-the-gates-of-toledo/
In the spring of 711, a Muslim army invaded Iberia led by Tariq ibn Ziyad, serving the Arab governor Musa ibn Nusayr, at Guadalete they swiftly defeated Roderick (Luthariq) the Visigoth King and then marched northward to the Visigoth capital of Toledo. Both Latin and Arabic chroniclers record that the Jews of the city “opened the gates of Toledo” to Tariq, who conquered the city. With more cities to take Tariq left Toledo and entrusted its protection to a garrison of Jewish soldiers, whom had rose up against the Catholic Visigoths and opened the gates.
Of course, Jews claim that’s only because of even earlier Christian oppression of Jews. But then, Christians can always point to still earlier misdeeds by Jews against Christians.
Who started this mutual animosity?
Many Jews have felt a visceral hatred toward Christ ever since He walked among them. Some Jews became Christians, but most rejected Christ in favor of their Oral Law (i.e., the Talmud). These Talmudic Jews continued to persecute Christians after the Resurrection. A Jewish mob murdered Stephen, the first martyr, and James, the first bishop of Jerusalem. Peter left Jerusalem around 50 A.D. to escape persecution by the Jews.
Beginning in the 19th century, Jews were disproportionately active in Communism and Anarchism, spreading violence and chaos throughout the West. The Leaders of the Bolshevik revolution were heavily Jewish. The leaders of the second successful Communist revolution (in Hungary, in 1919) was Jewish. Seven to 10 million Ukrainians were murdered through a man-made famine, a true Holocaust. That’s just the Ukrainians. There’s a reason so many Europeans were fearful and suspicious of Jews prior to WW2.
To really understand anti-Semitism, one must listen to both sides’ complaints. But today, only the Jewish side is heard in public, so understanding is not possible
An interesting parallel to the present. I do seem to recall that in the past, once the leftists seized power, they were quick to purge the Jews from their ranks, which is starting to happen in the present.
RPL said what I was going to say and more. The Jewish people have not been all that nice since Jesus was on this earth. I do believe some will be restored in the future, but they are making their own nasty bed now in many cases.
Note that 2/3rds of the Jewish people will die during the Great Tribulation, according to some OT Scripture. It will truly be a time of Jacob’s trouble. They are just as hard-hearted as any other man, even if they will be gathered in later.
(Yeah, some will disagree with my view of the end times. Go ahead and do that. I have no desire to argue it.)
”To really understand anti-Semitism, one must listen to both sides’ complaints. But today, only the Jewish side is heard in public, so understanding is not possible.”
Like communist Guerillas they hide among their own ethnic group as use them as a shield when they commit criminal acts.
I notice similar behavior among Leftists who happen to be Kurdish. Who accuse their opponents of genocide because they were being killed as terrorists.
Feminists likewise use women as their shield and view any criticism of them as an attack on all women despite their own crimes.
@RPL
” These Talmudic Jews continued to persecute Christians after the Resurrection. A Jewish mob murdered Stephen, the first martyr, and James, the first bishop of Jerusalem. Peter left Jerusalem around 50 A.D. to escape persecution by the Jews.”
We have much more common cause with the Karaites. The Tanakh only Jews.
No movie with a message Christian women need to hear will be one they want to hear.
A couple years ago we watched Tyler Perry’s Temptation. Kind of a cheesy movie, but basically a woman, played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell (yes, Jussie’s sister, but that’s beside the point) got bored and blew up her marriage. It ended with her running into her ex-husband and his new wife and kids, as she walked away alone having thrown her life away on drugs and the sexy badboy.
It was cheesy, and not a Christian movie, so this is not a recommendation. I’m just noting the negative reaction of viewers, appalled that the wife was “punished” for her affair. I read reviews this for morbid amusement. The actual consequences (I won’t give it away) may have been harsh, but I was happy to see an ending that showed how much happier she would have been with the beta provider. Most movies somehow demonize the beta provider and reform the alpha.
Speaking of girl power…

God makes it clear in several places in the OT that the Jews are going to be punished for their rejection of Jesus. The destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 can probably be said to be the first installment of that punishment, which has been more or less continuous ever since then, climaxing most recently with the Nazi Holocaust.
Off topic but pertinent to previous articles https://pjmedia.com/trending/women-may-have-to-register-for-the-draft-as-mens-group-wins-selective-service-lawsuit/
In response to a suit by a men’s rights group judge declares the men only selective service act unconstitutional.
We’ll see how that grrll power goes when the ladies get drafted. Of course, given the current success of “economic conscription” a draft is very unlikely, and all the pumpkins have to do to be released is get knocked up.
@RPL: “For many (most, I think) Jews, the mere expression of Christianity is anti-Semitic.”
Yep. It’s often been said that while there are many, many NON-Christian religions in the world, there are only two that are specifically ANTI-Christian: Satanism, and Judaism.
St Simon of Trent, pray for us.
@RPL: “To really understand anti-Semitism, one must listen to both sides’ complaints. But today, only the Jewish side is heard in public, so understanding is not possible”
That’s an understatement. Google up Germar Rudolf, Nick Kollerstrom, David Irving, Udo Walendy, Sylvia Stolz, Ursula Haverbeck, and many, many others. The pattern is clear: anyone who challenges the Jewish narrative has their lives destroyed, and is often thrown into prison as well.
Slowly it’s beginning to dawn on people that you can’t have both Jewish power and influence in your country AND First Amendment free speech rights. You can have one, or you can have the other. But you can’t have both.
Someone tries to hand me one of these movies, I take it. The reason is so that I can throw it directly into the trash can. If I refuse, then the brainwashed deliverer will hand the damaging content to someone else who might not be as rooted in objective truth as I am and be furthered injured by such “Christianized” radical feminist sociopathic nonsense.
It’s the same type of thinking a construction worker friend of mine had back in the 80s. He used to strap up and keep his motel door open at night when he was on site in dangerous areas. He WANTED the predators to choose HIS motel room to enter instead of an innocent victim’s room. He called himself the “sanitizer” as in he sanitized neighborhoods of predatory criminals making it safe for the innocents. Big boned hard nosed Irishman from Chicago. I wonder what ever happened to him?

I’m afraid he ran into two MAGA-hat wearing guys who hang out in Chicago at 2:00 AM looking for trouble. Maybe they lynched him. That’s what’s so dangerous about Chicago, right? The violent, conservative white dudes (or maybe Nigerians in whiteface)?
The associate pastor positively-mentioned “Fireproof” this morning from the pulpit. He is going to take over for the head pastor who is going to retire soon. I’ve heard that his wife dominates him. I sense the death of this congregation which is mostly gray-haired.
The associate pastor positively-mentioned “Fireproof” this morning from the pulpit.
If you wish to take on the project, there is an opportunity here, even among the aging congregation.
Best to have another acceptable church pre-vetted, however.

Islam and atheism are specifically anti-Christian.
Islam and atheism are specifically anti-Christian.
Are they?
While many American atheists have a personal hatred for Christianity (partially because American atheists are, once again, disproportionately Jewish, whether of the Marxist left or Randian right), atheism as a philosophy equally denies all religions.
As for Islam, Muslims revere Jesus as a prophet (while denying Jesus’s deity), whereas the Talmud condemns Jesus as a heretic, who is boiling in excrement in Hell.
As for Islam, Muslims revere Jesus as a prophet (while denying Jesus’s deity), whereas the Talmud condemns Jesus as a heretic, who is boiling in excrement in Hell.
I believe the Muslims were an offshoot from Arianism which was the first great crisis of the Church that took place in the 4th century. There is more to it but Arianism was based in part on the denial of Jesus’ divinity and this belief held sway over much of the Church at that time before dwindling away. But even a few centuries later, it is not implausible that there were still sects on the fringes that continued to hold this belief of Jesus as not divine. Hence I think it is possible that Islam arose from one of these and the original Mohammed was there to take it over and expand it through the force of his charisma and personality. But that is just my belief, said origins have been lost to time and I have no proof to offer, only a few assumptions based on what we know about Arianism, about the expansion of the Church prior to the rise of Islam and about the nature of the nomadic tribes on the Arabian peninsula.
But that is just my belief, said origins have been lost to time and I have no proof to offer, only a few assumptions based on what we know about Arianism, about the expansion of the Church prior to the rise of Islam and about the nature of the nomadic tribes on the Arabian peninsula.
Certainly it was a part of the puzzle, in my view.
I think that the other parts were (1) pre-Islamic pagan religion (the Ka’bah, much of the ritual of the hajj, many of the legal strictures in the Qur’an) and (2) a certain interpretation of Judaism filtered through Arianism and pre-Islamic paganism (examples are Halal — absent in Christianity — and the emphasis on Tawhid, or an extreme monotheism that is reminiscent of post-Christian rabbinical Judaism).
To, me Islam is a cobbled together religion comprised of (1) heretical Christianity (mostly Arian, as you say, but with some other bits tossed in), (2) pre-Islamic Arabian paganism and (3) filtered aspects of post-Christian Judaism.
It’s hostile to Christianity and Judaism, as being “superseded” by Islam, but isn’t as antagonistic as atheism is, because atheism, as a group, is almost entirely comprised of (and came from) Westerners who specifically rejected Christianity — yes, they reject other forms of religion, too, but Christianity is in particular rejected because it was the “native”/ambient religion that they first grew to hate and reject. In recent years, however, given what has happened since ~1990, I think Islam has, globally, come to hate Christianity, but that is subsumed as well within a broader hatred of the West, both Christian and secular.
Thought you gents might be interested in how to pass a shit test World War One style. A little part of a book I read over the weekend. Made me laugh at any rate.
Islam is by far the most anti-Christian religion in the world, because in its sacred texts, it explicitly DENIES the core-claims of Christianity as well as has the death penalty for any Mohammedan who converts to Christianity. When you look at the number of Christians persecuted worldwide, it again are the Mohammedans who murder most:
https://www.opendoorsusa.org/christian-persecution/world-watch-list/
As for the anti-Christian texts in the Koran, these are just a FEW of such texts:
Sura 4.171 O followers of the Book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not, Three. Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one God; far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.
Sura 9.30 And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!
Sura 4.157 And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa [Jesus] son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure
The Quran also says You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah(pagans) ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, “We are Christians.” That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant. (5:82)
The Quran acknowledges that while the Jews are the enemy, Christians are not.
Also, a Jordanian Christian friend of mine told me years ago about a saying in the middle east – “Eat with the Jews, sleep with the Christians” He explained that muslims can freely eat with Jews since their dietary laws are similar, whereas sleeping around Christians (letting your guard down) is preferable since the Christian will never stab you in your sleep (unlike the Jew). Muslims dislike Christianity but not Christians. With jews, it’s the other way around – they find Judaism a lot more palatable, but despise the jews themselves.
The Quran also says: “Surely, those who believed in Allah, and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabians, -whosoever believes in Allah and in the Last Day, and does good deeds – all such people will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no reason for them to fear, nor shall they grieve. (2:62)
In other words, pious Jews and Christians will not go to Hell. 2:62 is arguably the most overlooked verse in the Quran today. Don’t expect to hear it in a Jumah Khutbah today.
There is a good book by a British Jewish writer by the name of Johnathan Neuman called “To Heal the World?” His thesis is that about 90% of modern Judaism isn’t even real Judaism, but rather their own attempt to recreate the Christian Social Gospel in their own religion. The phrase Tikkun Olam was taken and twisted from a Jewish prayer to mean that a modern Jew’s responsibility is “to heal the world.” Of course, this “commandment” means to follow God is to follow left-wing, progressive movements.
We Christians have our own problems with “Churchianity” and Social Gospel movements from the Progressive Era.
@Dota – You are not correct. Many of your sources have been abrogated for later Suras:
5:51: “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as friends, they are but friends to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as friends, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allâh guides not those people who are the wrongdoers.”
5:14: “And from those who call themselves Christians, We took their covenant, but they have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. So We planted amongst them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection, and Allâh will inform them of what they used to do.”
3:85: “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.”
5:73: “Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allâh is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” But there is no god but Allâh. And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them.”
3:56: “As to those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe torment in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.”
98:6 “Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures.”
@ Dota
Nobody needs your lies about the friendliness of Muslims towards Christians. The worst ten countries for persecution of Christians are…
https://opendoorsyouth.org/the-problem/
1. North Korea
2. Afghanistan
3. Somalia
4. Libya
5. Pakistan
6. Sudan
7. Eritrea
8. Yemen
9. Iran
10. India
Eight of the ten are Muslim countries. That’s not a coincidence. Expand to the worst 30 persecutors of Christians, and the result is that 24/30 of the worst persecutors of Christians are Muslim countries, The other six are either Communists, or have a large Muslim minority.
Spare us the politically correct pro-Islam BS.
OT, but surprisingly good advice from Doug Wilson:
https://dougwils.com/books-and-culture/s7-engaging-the-culture/on-loving-her-on-respecting-him.html
Rings very true with me in my marriage.
Looks like someone provided Wilson with a copy of Shaunti Feldhahn’s book For Women Only. That was published back in 2004, so perhaps Wilson has mentally moved into the 21st century, at least a little bit.
It is good advice, and very much a surprise.
Oscar: I am somewhat surprised that the U.K. and Sweden are not on the list of countries hostile to Christianity. Canada is on it’s way. Will be even worse if Justine the Prime Menstruator of Canada gets re-elected. He is the “white” Obama. No coincidence that Obama’s campaign team ran Trudeau’s.
That was a good article by Doug. Respect is the currency with which men operate, and we think that women do too. They don’t. They want someone to be with them, really with them, on an emotional level and feel with them. A companion. A friend. Someone that will listen and not judge or solve.
My wife calls me her “best friend”. Some people poo poo that or say “you must be so beta”, but it’s a high compliment. She’s telling me that I’m there with her on an emotional level. But she knows that I’m more than just that, and respects me and listens to me and gives me lots of praise. She really is my cheerleader.
And that’s not the married version of “the friendzone”. I have a very high libido, but she knows that and stays a step ahead of me… I’ve no reason to stray or look at stuff I shouldn’t, then start comparing. I get everything I want and more, at home, so why bother?
Gentlemen-
Conditions are pretty rough here this week. If you are the praying kind, we sure could use it.

Not yet. Give it time, especially if the demographic trends remain the same.

@Hmm and AR:
Yes, VERY good advice, and I would never have figured it would be coming from Wilson. My only real gripe is that, like a good complimentarian, he still avoids any mention of Ephesians 5:22, but I guess we shouldn’t be looking a gift horse in the mouth.
@Mychael:
WOW. You’re reminding me of why I moved to the Southwest a decade ago (although Southern Arizona did have its first significant snowfall in 20 years last Thursday [the valleys, not in the mountains, which is par for the winter course]).
My prayers are indeed with you and the family.
Scott, you are DA MAN!!!!
If you are the praying kind, we sure could use it.
Yow. Here is was muttering that in Palo Alto, the daytime high was ‘only’ 58 and the night dipped down to an unacceptable 35 degrees.
Damn Crackers: There is a good book by a British Jewish writer by the name of Johnathan Neuman called “To Heal the World?” His thesis is that about 90% of modern Judaism isn’t even real Judaism, but rather their own attempt to recreate the Christian Social Gospel in their own religion.
I’ve read that Reform Judaism’s services are an attempt to create something resembling a Christian mass. (Naturally, without the Eucharist.) Ditto synagogues with stained glass windows. Reform Judaism tried to modernize and Westernize Judaism, in order to ease the assimilation of Jews into the European society. “See, we’re just like you, only a little bit different.”
Wilson’s article is the same things he always says, just with different words.
Allen, you don’t know what a woman needs, and Carol, you don’t know what a man needs. And it is fruitless to ask which one of you “started it.” You both started it when you got married, and both of you have been at it ever since.
This is a pretty decent example. He accepts the egalitarian frame right at the beginning, talking to them as one would talk to equals, when the fact that they are both under the false impression that they are equals is a large part of the problem.
When Scripture addresses wives, as wives, what does it tell them to do? The answer is simple. The Bible tells husbands to love and cherish their wives, and it tells wives to respect and honor their husbands.
Another truth with a redaction. Do you see the word “submit” in there anywhere? Me either.
Now of course we are all to love our spouses, because the Bible teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves (Lev. 19: 18) and our spouse is our closest neighbor. And of course we are to honor our spouses, because the Bible tells us to honor all men (1 Pet. 2:17), and our spouse is part of that human race.
What an ODD way to argue these points, going from most general to most specific. He ignores so many specific verses directed at husbands and wives and puts in a nod to universalism.
And when wives are singled out, the command is to respect and honor their husbands (Eph. 5:33).
What specific instruction are we ignoring again, which would change the frame away from equalism?
There are two basic reasons for this. One is that the command is given to our respective weaknesses—men are generally better at respecting than they are at loving. Conversely, women are generally better at loving than they are at respecting. Scripture emphasizes what it does because of our respective weaknesses. Men need to work on love, and women need to work on respect.
This is not correct. Love and respect have everything to do with the chain of authority and proper attitudes of those within it towards each other. Removed from that teaching, Wilson has to rationalize a purpose for them, and this explanation (not original to him, I think) is what he uses. Does anyone actually believe men are good at respecting and bad at loving? Christian leaders routinely disrespect men in their congregations. Those men in their congregations routinely love their families by doing what they can for them despite the disrespect. Women routinely respect men with alpha qualities, and routinely choose to not love many of their children by aborting them. Now, not all men are loving, and not all women are disrespectful, but the stereotyope is based on the Old Set of Books Rollo talks about, and no longer applies in the culture at large.
They are nourished and strengthened by different things. Men feed on respect, and women feed on love.
betasolutionsforalphaproblems.txt
When he pulls away, she reads that as emotional abandonment, and very unloving, which increases her critical spirit, which he reads as disrespect, and down the drain they go.
Pulling away, very unloving. Can’t have that, if you were to be an oak tree and non reactive you would not be loving, in fact Alpha traits are not loving according to Wilson.
Carol, you believe that Allen is filled with a cold rejection of you. And Allen, you believe that Carol thinks of you with contempt and disdain. We are convinced that both of you are wrong—you are misreading the signals.
Wilson is the one misreading the signals. Carol needs more alpha traits from him; contempt and disdain are not emotions easy to misread. Allen has not rejected her, or he would be gone. Any cold rejection he is showing would be a man quietly nursing the flame of his disappearing masculinity, trying to keep it from being completely put out by the cold wind of the feminine imperative that ravages our culture.
Carol, I want you to bring with you a list of ten things that you admire and respect the most about Allen.
Allen, when she is done, I want you to pull out your list. I want you to have a list of ten things you love about her, things you would miss terribly if she were gone.
This advice is bad because what he needs is not more words from his wife, and what she needs is not more beta behaviour from her husband. This plan will result in him sharing his feelings and will cause her disrespect for him to increase, with the added effect of confusing her as to why, because after all she followed the pastors advice… Why does she now feel less attracted to her husband? It’s a mystery… Ah well, there’s virtue in suffering through an unhappy marriage right? And at least we are not listening to what those jerks in the manosphere are saying. Our patriarchy is definitely not over-realized. Whew!
Right at the end there is a brief nod towards wifely obedience, but in what context is it discussed? Not the current relationship, no, but in the context of women teaching women.

Wish: Granted
“Re: Heh at WRSA, and the federal ruling that a draft of only men is unconstitutional, we saw this shrill bleat that such manifest fairness is unfair go unanswered:
It is interesting to read the comments on this subject. It seems most commenters would enjoy seeing their young women getting drafted into combat, getting killed or mutilated, and many call women by vile profanities. Only a few men like you hold the line in your own lives and resist the temptation to bitterness and self destruction.
It seems that few WRSA readers have the foresight to see that the enemy has already set up residence in your head and wrecked any future you could have had in a decent, moral society if you take joy in the thought of having your own women forced into combat, killed or mutilated.
Hey, hold my beer:
Dear Lori,
1) Shells that landed inside your perimeter can be assumed to be aimed fire. Welcome to combat. It’s a bitch like that.
2) “Their” young women? Ha! “Your body, your choice.” Wait, what?
People told you for fifty years that if feminazis wanted to push for military service equality, you’d get it, good and hard. Welcome to the party, pal. The federal courts just punched your equality ticket. Enjoy combat. I hear it’s a peach. Bummer you can’t change biology, huh?
That rustling sound is your chickens coming home to roost.
3) “and many call women by vile profanities”.
Sorry, I couldn’t hear you over the sound of the caterwauling about toxic masculinity, rape culture, and 57 other flavors of anti-man feminist horseshit polluting the culture for 50+ years.
Men built the culture and the civilization, and even gave the Sisterhood the very equality they’re now enjoying, and all the Sisterhood has done with each expansion of that equality is squat and shit harder on men in general, and in specific.
Imagine a sentence that begins with the word “Go”, and ends with “yourself”, and see if you can cleverly supply the missing four-letter verb that belongs between the imperative and the object in that sentence.
Some of us aren’t holding the line, we’re holding our sides while you get your equality, good and hard, just like you bitched, whined, moaned, and pussy-hatted for. Wasn’t you? Go bitch at three generations of bull dykes in congress, et al, whom you let do your talking, and voting. Now you’ll get to enjoy feeling like men do when the military draft makes them Fate’s bitch. Legend has it your gender has some experience with that, so all y’all should take to this like a duck to water. Pisser about how heavy the packs are, huh?
4) “bitterness and self-destruction”.
Really? You mean after watching generations aborted in their millions, women en masse making sport of degrading, deriding, and ridiculing men as a gender, for decades, we’re not already seeing the root of that bitterness that lead to civilizational self-destruction? On what planet? Maybe you’ve noticed the growth industry of importing women from foreign lands as yet uninfected by the American Harpy Disease as brides here, who have still some wee notion of the eternal sense of division of roles by gender, courtesy of biology, and who’re not afraid to be mothers, while resisting the asinine fairytale notion that you can “have it all”, instead preferring marriages that endure, and motherhood in a two-parent traditional family, while resisting the perennially failing idea that you can skip those things, and have an endless parade of penises, and a career, and then squeak out a child as an artificially inseminated career woman, with Government as the Baby Daddy, because Gloria Steinem lied it into truth.
5) “It seems that few WRSA readers blah blah blah”…
No, sweetheart, the enemy has been sitting in residence in our institutions. Perhaps you’ve been asleep for fifty years. Men have not.
They’re tired of being accused of rape every time some drunken bimbo has buyer’s remorse the morning after. Or makes a story up out of whole cloth for a shot at a payday.
They’re tired of having no say about an abortion, but being saddled with full support for any baby delivered.
They’re tired of being saddled with paternity in a marriage despite that fact that up to 30% of all births within wedlock (itself a vanishing fraction of total births) are actually bastards sired by sluts catting around on the sly.
They’re tired of women yammering for equality, then treating husbands and fathers as disposable, after garnishing their paychecks for anywhere from 18 years to life.
So how about some more actual equality:
A baby isn’t your body. So from now on, no abortion unless the baby consents to it as well.
Good luck with that one.
Child support is 50/50. Women will be henceforth required to submit child support payments to the state in escrow. Women who fail to pony up the same amount as the father will be declared unfit, lose custody, and be imprisoned. Welcome to Deadbeat Mom status. Sauce for the gander.
No spousal support. You want spousal support, stay married. Divorce is henceforth a declaration of a desire by the filing party to be self-sufficient, entirely on their own hook. Alimony is hereby reset to $0, in perpetuity, in all cases. Each party departs the relationship with what they came into it with, and 50% of all joint assets produced during the union. And nothing more going forward. Now you’re equal. You don’t get to marry and divorce your way to an endless monkey-branching half of every man’s paycheck as your lifetime pension plan if you don’t honor the “until death do us part” section of the oath.
False and unsubstantiated accusations of rape, battery, or sexual harassment will be mandatorily prosecuted, with non-negotiable sentencing of the guilty equal to the highest sentence allowed for a man convicted of the same crime. Plus civil damages and loser pays lawyer fees. Due process is a thing again.
Three false accusations of same will constitute Three Strikes, and lifetime incarceration.
Aw…too soon?
6) “wrecked any future you could have had in a decent, moral society…”
Stop, you’re killing me, and my sides hurt from laughing.
Look at teen pregnancy, the number of abortions, divorce, out-of-wedlock births, shacking up, marital infidelity, and every social pathology traceable incontrovertibly to single parenthood (read single motherhood), and tell we where is that decent, moral society you’ve fantasized. Maybe among the Amish, or back in 1950. No one’s seen it hereabouts for decades.
7) “if you take joy in the thought of having your own women forced into combat, killed and mutilated”.
Apparently you’ve missed those same men, in droves, warning you that’s exactly what you were going get if the Sisterhood kept pushing this anti-biological codswallop contrary to reality forever that women are physically equal to men, and missed as well exactly the commenters you deride (hard to break old habits?) tell you until their tongues had calluses that 99% of women don’t even belong in the military in the first place, and never have, let alone within a country mile of combat duties, because there isn’t 1 in a literal 1,000,000 women who could even pass the physical.
And that it’s going to get women and men killed and maimed when it’s tried, and on top of that, cost us a battle, a campaign, perhaps even a war.
But the Womyn Of The 21st Century are immune to such facts, logic, and millennia-long biological realities, and aren’t having any of it, because the Sisterhood has pink-pilled them into oblivion chasing exactly this nonsensical fairytale nightmare.
If all we had to do was draft the lot of you, and kill and maim you in the literal millions to finally eradicate the error, I’d happily see an entire generation of lunatic women dismembered and slaughtered, just to see the pitiful few croaking and bloody survivors come crawling back to common sense, and let us try again societally in 20 years with generations yet unborn and untainted by the poisonous nonsense of retard feminism.
It would be a bargain for everyone but yourselves if the inevitable bloodbath only looked like WWI trench warfare, and wiped you out to the last lip-quivering Wannabe Combat Barbie.
And since that appears to be the only way 99% of you will ever wrap your empty, ungrateful heads around reality, the day cannot come soon enough.”
Frank K: My understanding is that it’s the other way around: that early Christians combined the Lord’s Supper with the liturgy of the synagogue and that produced the various eastern and western liturgies we have today.
Both could be true.
It’s possible that first century Christians used the Jewish liturgy as a basis for Christian services, then developed it into something unique. Later on, 19th century Reform Jews took these newer Christian elements to further develop their own services.
Just because Christians borrowed from Jews, doesn’t mean that Jews didn’t also borrow from Christians.

I recommend everyone read this website. You will find it useful and there is many resources about this.
Public Order Act offences are a catch-all for anyone the police have been told do not please Her Majesty’s Government and in the Victimhood Olympics Muslims rate higher than Negroes. I am not sure how it might be in the United States of America but Tube Station preachers are common in London, England. There used to be (and for all I know probably still is) a black gentleman whose pitch was outside Camden Town Tube Station and he bashed his Bible. Plenty of people would then remonstrate with him but they were wasting their time for not only could he and did he talk the hind legs off that Donkey relishing the challenge of the scoffers but he had the Microphone (or was it a Megaphone). Great street-entertainment.
Both could be true.
It’s possible that first century Christians used the Jewish liturgy as a basis for Christian services, then developed it into something unique. Later on, 19th century Reform Jews took these newer Christian elements to further develop their own services.
True. The original Eucharistic service is referenced in some detail in the Didache, which most scholars today date from the first century based on materials found at the Dead Sea Scrolls site. During that period there was still a significant percentage of Christians who were Jewish ( in many places a majority ) by background, and it appears based on the Didache that the original Eucharistic prayer service was based on the existing Jewish practice for blessings before and after meals. A bit later on Justin Martyr, in his First Apology (circa 155) describes the currently familiar structure of a service that has a service on Sunday (it had moved to Sunday by then from the original time of Saturday evening) of readings from scripture, followed by prayers and petitions, and then the Eucharistic prayer and distribution of the Eucharist. So it appears likely that the whole thing had the contours of various Jewish practices (the scriptural readings part coming from the synagogue service, and the Eucharistic part coming from the Jewish practices for blessings before and after meals) but clearly they were Christianized as well — Justin describes that the Eucharist wasn’t simply a meal blessing but Eucharist as established in the Gospels, and the description of the readings part of the Sunday service references both readings from the prophets as well as from the “memoirs of the apostles”, so obviously Christian adaptation was taking place.
The reform Jews are interesting in that it was clearly a move to create a kind of Judaism that was more compatible with the Enlightenment ideas that the founders of reform Judaism believed in. My understanding is that the services were shortened, simplified, to some extent vernacularized, and also that certain traditional beliefs were simply excised from them. In addition, lots of “traditional” Jewish observances and rules were relaxed or eliminated, with a goal of making Jewish practice less “exotic”, and thereby facilitating assimilation. It seems likely that at least a part of the vision in undertaking these things was what the local Protestant Christians were doing (Reform developed first in Europe), to make things look more similar, and less exotic/foreign in that context.
Ironically, I think that things have started to come around full circle in some ways, because my understanding is that in recent decades at least some reform congregations have begun to initiate the external trappings of more traditional praxis in some areas, while not becoming more traditional in belief, as a way to preserve a Jewish identity which in many places is receding. So it appears to be something of a moving target today, again.

The ruling on women and the draft doesn’t matter much for now. We haven’t drafted anyone since the ’70s, and if women do get drafted in the future, they’ll just get pregnant and avoid combat (and possibly the draft) that way.
What may change some time in the future is that – after years of feminist screeching – the draft may be outlawed completely.
We’ll see.

I disregarded punctuation.
I did use terms like misogyny in the interview because I wanted Dalrock to deal with some of that stuff, and I don’t know, OK, I will admit…I will admit this, when I went into the interview I was already feeling bothered by Dalrock so I tried to be as even handed and sort of uh dare I say journalistic as possible, but I also sort of wanted Dalrock to trip up and prove that he was not good because I sort of thought he probably wasn’t good although I hadn’t read him enough to really know at the time so I will admit I went into it with a bias.
Then more focus on corporal punishment. Nothing about Dalrock’slegitimate, concise, Scriptural arguments. I won’t listen to the rest.
Artists so white. And so male: https://news.artnet.com/market/new-study-shows-us-art-museums-grappling-with-diversity-1467256
An Estimated 85 Percent of Artists Represented in US Museum Collections Are White, a New Study Claims …
In recent years, museums across the United States have worked to diversify their collections, sometimes even selling work by white male artists to buy art by women and artists of color.
But according to a new study, they still have a lot of work to do.
Researchers examined more than 40,000 artworks in the collections of 18 museums across the US, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Art Institute of Chicago, to analyze the gender and ethnic diversity of their holdings.
They estimate that 85 percent of artists represented in these collections are white and 87 percent are men. (This is, notably, significantly out of step with the US population at large, which is 61 percent white and 50.2 percent male, according to census data.)
Warhorn says Dalrock is disingenuous, hiding behind his pseudonym, and controlling the narrative by not going on their show. SJW’s aren’t that bad really. They don’t kill people.
Dalrock tolerates a toxic atmosphere by allowing his bad followers to comment on stuff we don’t agree with.
Toads gonna toad.
Good call by all.

That was a good article by Doug. Respect is the currency with which men operate, and we think that women do too. They don’t. They want someone to be with them, really with them, on an emotional level and feel with them. A companion. A friend. Someone that will listen and not judge or solve.
***********************************************************************
Sort of. Sure; respect is the currency with which men operate. That’s true. But I don’t need a cheerleader. I don’t need to hear “good job, honey!”, much less a list of 10 things she thinks I do well. I’m not a toddler. I know what I do well, and what I don’t do well.
I need her to do what I say without making a fuss. That’s submission and respect. It’s not complicated…
*******************************************************************************
Yup I completely get that. I used to be that way. She’d praise me about something, and I’d tell her “I don’t need you to thank me or praise me for doing my job”.
Years later, I thought, “she’s trying to praise and encourage me, and I’m telling her not to”? Why would I tell anyone, much less my wife, that I didn’t want her praise? If I were playing baseball and a team-mate praised me for a good catch, would I tell them “don’t praise me for doing my job”? Of course not.
Not only that, I never gave praise either. Couldn’t give it. Couldn’t take it. But I could give it to others. Why not her of all people? And I could give it when she wasn’t around when I was talking to others. I could give her praise if she could not hear me doing it… Hmmm…
I decided I was being kind of an ass in that area. Her praising me was just one way she was showing me respect. Basically telling me what’s in her head, that she thinks I’m great. So I started accepting her praise, and practiced giving it as well. In Proverbs: “Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”
Accepting praise help me give it.
And, they talk of inviting Doug Wilson to speak at one of their conferences and play a clip of feminists heckling Wilson.

Thanks for the link. I’m bracing myself…
Dalrock will learn a very, valuable lesson from all this. You cannot trust them at all. You don’t need them though, they’re not our allies, they’re our enemy, every bit as much as the SJWs. None of them are for Patriarchy, none of them are for true, male headship. They will cut you off at the knees and demand you give them an inch more towards the waist.
They just wanted their pound of flesh. Nothing will change, except that they outed themselves as untrustworthy dipshits.
it’ll be interesting to listen to the podcast. The intro print statement doesn’t look promising….
@7817
Very clear seeing. I completely fell for Wilson’s same old shell game, where he seems to give up on his conservative feminism but doesn’t really do so, just puts a different gloss on it. This is as you clearly point out the same old Complementarianism wrapped up in praise.
Call it – “compliment-arianism” if you will.
The exercise is still worth while because of possible attitude adjustment on her part by making her talk in the foreign language of ‘man-speak”. Fluffing her ego up with compliments is a short term gain as well, but once again we are back to “watch what they do, not what they say”. A man with a contentious wife doesn’t need moar words from his wife, he needs her to stop resisting and start submitting.
As you clearly saw and I totally missed, “submit” never appears in the text, and that matters. It matters a lot.
@ Joe
You and I are talking about two different things. Do you have authority over your baseball teammate? is your baseball teammate disobeying you, then praising you?
I’ve never told my wife “I don’t need you to thank me or praise me for doing my job”. That’s not what I’m talking about.
What I’m talking about is what Jesus was talking about when he told the parable of two sons (Matthew 21:28-32). One son told his father, “yes sir, I’ll do what you say”, and then disobeyed. The other said, “no, I won’t do what you say”, then repented and obeyed his father. Jesus was very clear in stating that the one who obeyed did well.
Likewise, Jesus quoted (Matthew 15:8) Isaiah 29:13 when He said, “these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”
How do we know that the Israelites’ hearts were far from God? Because they disobeyed Him.
As Jesus also said, “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.” (John 14:15)
Please explain: what good is praise from a disobedient, rebellious wife?

it’ll be interesting to listen to the podcast.
Maybe. Most podcasters aren’t very good at giving a monologue. They need to be edited.
The intro print statement doesn’t look promising….
Again, we’ll see. Unfortunately most podcasters / youtubers do not post a transcript that can be read.

Woman up, ladies! You’ve been telling us for decades that there are no inherent differences between men and women, and that any gap (“gender pay gap”, anyone?) that favors men is, therefore, a result of “misogyny”, so there’s no reason why these dudes should be cleaning up on the track. Right?
My exwife called me “sir” toward the end of our marriage. I called her on being a hypocrite for it as well, since the attitude behind it didn’t seem to really mean anything like that. Many women parrot phrases, but miss the core meaning.
I think the gist of what you’ll hear can be summed up in this comment Nathan Alberson offered in the thread at Sound of Sanity:
The Borehorn podcast is the usual. Dalrock is a liar, he’s skeeered and hides, we’re the real men in the room, and so on.
They can barely hide their disdain. For Dalrock and for his commenters. They in no way even considered any rational argument. I encourage any lurkers to listen to this.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, who thinks the zeitgest of the churchian/complementarian age isn’t the Pedestal (woman good/man bad—grrls are born speshal—holding woman accountable bad) cannot think abstractly.

El quotes Nathan on chivalry
I define it as “opening doors for ladies” and am totally fine with it.
That’s probably an accurate quote of Nathan, by the way. It would fit with other things he’s written.
Perhaps it is just me, but lately when I read certain TradCons I find myself exasperatedly wondering when or if they will ever get out of the 7th grade mindset.
Is Traditional Conservatism just a very long extension of mid-school, with a few fancy words on top?
God forbid that any of these sophomore’s wives goes Full Retard Feral, what with the jackbooted “family” courts and all. We’ll save a place for them here.
